The amelioration of desperation in any populace creates greater security, stability, and prosperity. It allows for a better educated, healthier, and more productive populace generally. Even at that, what's being said by Peterson is entirely not inappropriate. It might be contentious but it shouldn't be anything that we can't contend with. I also do not understand the criticism - and I've seen it a number of times - that Peterson wanders outside his specific expertise when discussing broad philosophies and that somehow costs him credibility. Every philosophy requires you to reach across domains.

From what I've read, he associates God - however people imagine it - with order and suggests we are designed to seek that order whether or not we associate it with religion or a logical God-being. How is modeling a "womens'" field? What, is your example of a "mens" field? This is actually a bullshit derivative of the pay-gap conversation because in this case, as opposed to say a car company or gas utility employee, the model is a product leased by designers to display their wares. That's a statistically reasonable difference in price given the many years of data showing that, not in every case but on average ( which is how insurance is priced ), men simply are more likely to end up needing an insurance payout. We tend to do more reckless things.
