You'll have to do a lot of introspection, contemplation, meditation, pushing yourself, and a lot of research. Shrooms can offer a great peak (-experience) at what is possible, just as the other guy says, but you'll definitely need to do a lot of that research and contemplation afterward, if you want the great, ego-less state as your standard mode of being. Here are some of the best resources that I've come across: ***http://www.burningtrue.net/2012/06/shadow-of-ghost.html http://www.accesstoinsi…

Come out of the deficiency closet. --- video seems a little corny at first, but it's actually quite helpful for seeing through limiting beliefs.

I think it's important to see that when these 'alphas' are in 'your territory', that the automatic feeling is one of defensiveness---the automatic beta response. If you aren't able to bring awareness to this aggression, and the thinking/perception that brings about this response, you can pretend you're alpha all the way, but that's just masking the beta perception at its core. Once you see how this works, your mind will drop the defensiveness and that's how you actually stop giving a fuck.

Realize that you have this desire to appear more alpha to other people and see that you don't want to appear weak to other people. Realize how you are putting them on a pedestal in your mind. See how conditioning has made that desire and thought process automated and mechanical. Let the pedestals drop and stop giving a fuck.

Girls like George Clooney best. You aren't George Clooney and therefore you will never get laid.

So yeah, main theme of the story is that you probably have decent enough social skills hidden away somewhere, there's just those anxiety blocks. I think that's a good thing to see and remember if you're beating yourself up. Hmm, no you're not wasting my time. I just enjoy helping people out with this sort of thing if I can. Talking/thinking about this stuff energizes me for whatever reason. Yeah, I got a really shit, below average grade on cell biology exam a few weeks ago and felt shitty/stupid…

Also, I know the time it takes to 'get it' varies considerably. The main moderators on the truthstrike website-- it took one of them 1day, another a few weeks, and another dude a few months.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I bet you would be fine socially if you could get rid of the tension. Hmm, I get bored too, often. I'm not really a fan of normal conversation; the think I most enjoy is making myself/others laugh. Because I've become less concerned whether my responses are 'appropriate'/'good' it has made it easier for that to happen. Hmm, I don't think I have a good explanation. They aren't geniuses or anything like that; they're nice guys; they range in regards to introversion/ext…

Good, glad it made sense. Hmm, yeah I'm still not able to separate myself from destructive thought when I want to. The superglue analogy makes complete sense. This process of watching just makes it much easier for the superglue to fortuitously crack away, essentially. You just need this certain look at it, and then it just happens--- it's so hard to explain lol. Just keep at it. The weight of those things--- not having many friends and so on--- if you keep watching, the weight will become less o…

It is important to see that your most habitual/'you' thinking strategies are what cause the whole anxiety thing. You think of yourself as the fighter, and that is the whole problem, actually. Those main ideas/strategies you have are the ones that you have made most personal, and keep you fighting the needless fight. Yes, they are in front of your face all the time, but for some reason it is that hard to really see them. Maybe no survival/fighter/needer role is actually needed whatsoever.

No self~ Hmm, I think when they say you can't WANT it, it doesn't mean that there can't be any motivation/desire to figure it out. The problem with wanting is that it is often biased and idealistic, so it can be distracting. No need to try and push the wanting away--- the truth of no self should be available at all times according to them, so just investigate it the arising of the wanting process I suppose. Also, about the content of the article~ it sounds like it might be easier to spot shitty …

"I cannot live with myself any longer." This was the thought that kept repeating itself in my mind. Then suddenly I became aware of what a peculiar thought it was. "Am I one or two? If I cannot live with myself, there must be two of me: the ‘I’ and the ‘self’ that ‘I’ cannot live with." "Maybe," I thought, "only one of them is real." I was so stunned by this strange realization that my mind stopped. I was fully conscious, but there were no more thoughts. Then I felt drawn into what seemed like a…

Attacking the thoughts is good. It sounded like you wanted to shake things up a lot, so I figured the no-self thing would be a better route than trying out ego death (with psychedelics).

Haha I was working at it and then I introduced it to some people and one of them got it the first day, so that was encouraging. And from what I had been reading for so long I'm pretty sure it's the real deal. It's just the modernized/quicker version of realizing what the Buddha and other mystics had been pointing to. And naw, you don't have to jump through all those hoops of fire and pain to see it (though fire and pain might motivate you to look). I mean, I've been working at it for a while so …

No, not even. The three of them were all sober and saw it in August. None of them had meditation experience. Just used the methods on the the no-self sites (truthstrike, undisguised life and what not) and they literally saw 'the truth' (it's actually like seeing that an illusion doesn't exist supposedly). They say that because no-self was already truth before it was seen, there isn't a massive change like you would imagine. It's basically seeing that it's not possible for there to be an experien…

Start talking to a lot more random people in general and it'll be easier to talk to that girl.

Yeah, just challenge yourself to interact with people as much as you can (assuming that you are slightly uncomfortable opening random people and that you are not as relaxed as you could be) Whenever I go to stores, am on an elevator, wherever, I have made it a point to just ask a question or say something. If it's dumb or you're nervous, it's alright. It becomes a lot easier to find random things to point out or ask about after a while, and also more enjoyable because you are become okay with as…

Also, maybe cut out weed consumption (I just don't have a very good reaction to it and it made my thinking all weird) and drinking as much alcohol if you do. I forced myself in the past weeks to challenge myself to drink less in social situations where I felt like I needed to in order to feel comfortable (not that I was a heavy drinker before).

Haha cool, internet friends sounds good to me. --It sounds like your facing a lot of other smart students. I actually go to a pretty decent school in the US and the students here don't seem as intense as the ones that youre describing, overall. I only get a bit intimidated when I'm in my biochem lab and I feel rushed and start getting stressed/confused, and everyone else looks like they know what theyre doing. That's great that you're pushing yourself to talk in class. I basically started doing …

Ohhh, and another thing that has seemed helpful with anxiety/fear, especially if you're able to sit a moment where it's more quiet, is that when you start to have those feelings/scary thoughts 1. try and make the mindset to be fearless and recognize what it is that you don't want to hear/see in your mind and then give into that thing 'alright, what if that is how it is and so what?--- I'll just let it be and move with it/through it.' 2. and then you want to 'sink' into the feeling aspect of the …

Haha nice--- yeah that block of text looked pretty nasty-- it didnt feel good seeing it. But here's another one lol----Yeah, a lot of it is just seeing a little bit how the internal dialogue is caused by previous thought/environment. When you start to realize that's how it happens with you and other people also (that even if people are 'judging you'--- those judgements were just handed down from society primarily---- for example, someone judging the clothes that you wear is a completely handed d…

All of these resources are related to non-duality essentially; that the self is a thought construct that is impermanent and does not reflect reality, so it is not true (an illusion)--- and that this can be realized through direct, perceptual insight (going beyond thought). Two of my friends at college have seen through the illusion of self/ego--- it sounds crazy, but this is for real. I'm still working on seeing it myself. So with meditation they say to be present and be aware and what not, but …

Yeah that sounds tough man, sorry to hear. But, yeah I've had similar experiences on shrooms---> and that's what encouraged me to take the 5+, which was a bad and a good idea, it's hard to say (I took it when I was at about the same point as you--- I just couldn't take everything anymore). I actually wouldn't recommend it though; I don't think it's necessary for a big change, and might just end up giving you off and on panic attacks lol. It caused a hell of a lot of suffering though, which is th…

Hmm, yea my social anxiety was definitely a lot worse when I started college. I'm actually doing neuroscience stuff too and I've probably got ADHD too I think. Anyhow, the social anxiety has gotten miles better than it used to be, and mostly in the past few months (im a senior now). The 5+ grams of shrooms basically sent me through ego death and I had a mystical experience that was literally mind blowing. The whole experience scared the shit out of me for months and that's when I read about simi…

You're going to have to see the world and yourself in a new way. You're going to have to pay attention ALL THE TIME to what you are thinking, feeling, and how you are reacting to your environment. You are going to have to see how so much of what you do, think, etc. is very automatic and retarded. You are going to have to put yourself in challenging environments (see when/how/why you are reacting to scenarios you are imagining also) and take little steps all the time. You are going to have to loo…
