I think both men and women get nervous around those they’re actively trying to pursue - they go in with a battle plan or something which leads to overthinking. It can be a lot to keep up with (trying to project certain character traits and/or seem attractive while continuing a conversation). So I think being nervous is a natural consequence. I can understand that, although I personally wouldn't inhibit my child's experiences in order to create a false bubble - children should be aware that there are many opinions out there. The most liberal people I’ve ever met were raised in ultra conservative/religious households. Just something to consider in your theory. There is a natural tug-and-pull to those things.
