This might be removed as I don't have a tag yet, but "We just needed to communicate more", was my ex's attempted, gaslighting excuse as to why we broke up--essentially, I went silent in order to avoid the abuse I knew would occur if I DID communicate our problems. He tried to spin his abuse as a communication problem--specifically MY problem.

The other replys are great, just remember you never, never, EVER have to justify breaking up. You can get on the phone, say you're done and get off. You don't need to tell them how to improve for the next person, or reassure them it's not their fault. You don't owe it to them to do it in person. Get your stuff and get out, just like the others say.

I actually like mentioning to people that I wish people were more like birds, romantically speaking. It's interesting to see what pops up, because there is such variations with how birds act. I love how robin parents work together to raise their babies. I know another woman who agreeded, and was thrilled at the men being more attractive and grooming themselves better (since male birds usually are more brightly plumaged). It's an interesting take to see what people think about courtship rituals.

I want to point out saying "I love you" on a second date is a major red flag. Even if it was during sex , I still think this is true. It a big sign of narcissism. Keep in mind if that's the case, then the things you liked about his man never really existed; everything he likely showed you was fake to reel you in. Everytime you miss certain aspects about him, remind yourself of this.

No relationship advice, but a lot of those things you listed are really cool things. You should use them to focus on yourself. Make elaborate meals for yourself, or perhaps discover something new about cooking for you. You seem very crafty, but do you do crafty nice things for your home? Being good at conversation does not have to be for other people. You can look at it as a way to find out new interesting information from other people (pick their brain to learn about new things and experiences)…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
