It is just crony capitalism. The insurance companies passed this bill. If universal healthcare came through it will be fought hard by the health industry. I would rather not see either obamacare or universal, but if I had to choose between the two I would take universal. Also there is no need to fight obamacare now since the supreme court has upheld it.

I consider myself a libertarian and I would rather have universal healthcare than this Obamacare nonsense. All it does is make the insurance companies rich. Insurance is the whole problem with out healthcare system. I don't have insurance and I tried to get a routine physical done. One quoted me $500-$1000. That was crazy so I called around and most people weren't taking new patients. I had on tell me that they don't take cash. They only took insurance. What kind of company doesn't take cash? On…

Utah has one too. I think it came out to be about 17% for my one kid. Also the mom doesn't work so that might be why it is so high.

Wow that is just unbelievable. ORS here in Utah wouldn't even tell me anything until I took the paternity test to prove I was the father. They wouldn't tell me how much I will owe or anything.

Where it says there needs to be a court order to get it done. Essentially ORS gets the court order and forces you to take the test. You can sign a VDP instead if you want.

The state is Utah. Here is the FAQ on it. This only applies if you were not married when the child was born. Honestly I think they still do it when you are married because my buddy got a divorce and they had him decline the test. Well actually he declined it on his own. I don't understand how all other states don't do this. It probably costs them just over $100 and it makes sure you have the right guy. Who is liable if the state gets an order to force a non father into paying support? Do they ju…

What a great thing you are doing. I do have to say though, in my state it is mandatory that you take a paternity test before one support payment. Is this not the same in every state? I didn't pay anything to have it done.

Wow. Thank you. Mine looks exactly like that. I always assumed it was form the circumcision, but never looked it up. It doesn't ever hurt and I have never had a problem with stuff getting in there. It looks almost just like the very first image. Oh well no real issues with it though. Just kinda different looking. I didn't see on there, but is there a name for this?

This was mostly sarcasm because in trying to do the thing that is right we actually do more harm than good. We could do the "wrong thing" by letting the non paying father go and actually help the child.

Not only will you now be able to pay, but the State would have to pay to keep you from paying. I thought the reason for child support was mainly to keep the single mothers off of government support.
