The wage gap is a myth. It's an earnings gap that exists between male and female. My job is in a female dominated field, it's unionized and so wages are defined across the board regardless of gender. But I and other male co-workers easily out earn our female counterparts by 1.75x-2x annual gross pay because men are eager to pickup OT and extra shifts. If he didn't run back to save her we'd have the tragic headlines of a kid dying in a fire... to be forgotten eventually. It's still a tragic headline and our burnt hero will also be forgotten and neglected. I think the latter is more sad. 😔

Watching the match got me thinking, there will never be a women's finals that will even come close to the caliber of game play both exhibited. The women's games look so half-baked and inadequate to the men's game. Same holds true for any other sport.
