I was too generalizing, but my point stands. Peterson appeals to frustrated men who lacked guidance and purpose, hence part of his rise to Internet popularity.

Yeah, but its affect on men isn't nearly brought up enough. We all know about women with daddy issues. But what about dudes? It's just assumed men will grow up and figure out life on their own or go into the military. Given how lost a lot of men are today, it's obviously not the case.

The lack of father figures, for starters. It's startling to see how many dudes lack competent and emotionally invested fathers growing up. And I'm not just talking about dads who walked out. I mean those who were in the picture but hardly engaged with their sons in any meaningful way. I think the popularity of Jordan Peterson, Andrew Tate, and other manosphere grifters stems from men's need for a father figure-- someone to instill discipline, direction, and dignity in them.

Make of this as you will, but I tend to be more 'on' than 'off' when it comes to sex.

but if women can't support an average man, I don't think the gender differences are resolvable. Support the average man in what way?

8/10 it's themselves. Fear or insecurities of being judged. Also, there is the vulnerability element. It's pretty scary be assertive and aggressive for many women. Negative reinforcement doesn't help either. I had one lady tell me she broke down and cried after trying cowgirl for the first time with her husband. He didn't like it for some undisclosed reason and jerked himself off while she ran out the room in tears.

They know what they need and are capable of doing it. But when given complete access to the body of a man they find attractive enough to be intimate with, they just freeze up. Of course they freeze up. That would mean needing to be brave enough to go against the norm and own their sexual desires to grind vigorously against the man's thigh, tease the shit out his dick with outercourse and hold his head down while he eats you. All of this does not fit into the conventional idea of sex (foreplay, p…

For a guy, sex is a performance and he has to know how to perform. For a woman, she just has to be there. Be there and look pretty while the man performs on your body without a fucking clue.. uh huh. Teaching and learning are genuine skills you bring into sex, whether people are aware or not. A woman not guiding her partner on what she likes and expecting him to know what to do beyond basic consent is a lousy lover. Any man not willing to learn from, listen to, or guide their partner is just as …

Once again, men shoot themselves in the foot for treating women like shit for daring to make the first move.

Women do go after what they want sexually and romantically in their own way, if not aggressively. How? By dropping subtle hints that go right over men's heads?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:16 PM

Women who do go after what they want are labelled "easy". Guys who think that shoot themselves in the foot. Women who think the same are just petty.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:14 PM

I think it sucks how guys are expected to ask out and chase women. It's 2024 yet this norm still persists, especially among some women who just deem it unfathomable to approach a dude. Like it's so beneath women to go after what we want sexually and romantically.

I mean this all checks out to me, but at the end of the day you're still dealing with inherently flawed human beings. When you're involved with someone, you are ultimately taking a leap of faith no matter how much logic or common sense you applied while dating. And you better have the patience and heart for it.

Nah I just don't need to waste my time making sure everything is perfectly clean. I wipe down and straighten up stuff as the mess is made, no weekly cleaning schedule needed. The only thing I bother putting off is vacuum, washing bedding, and dusting as to let it properly build up so I don't waste water and electricity to clean barely nothing. But you do you.

You're still going through the trouble of changing out sheets that properly aren't that dirty to begin with. Unless your skin is dry as sand on a hot day and you sweat buckets overnight, your sheets won't be filthy after a week.

I'm not the neatest woman, but some dudes make me look like the neat freak because their standards don't even exist. Dishes don't exist. Grim is just backdrop. They can't even bother to half ass it because the mess just doesn't cross their radar. At least my lazy ass can acknowledge it and begrudgingly clean it up.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/24 11:49 AM

If you keep a good bathing routine, skin cells and sweat in your sheets shouldn't be an issue. Not one that requires changing them weekly at least. That seems excessive.

It's crazy how research keeps saying 2 married parents gives children the best chance at life when it's clear mothers are doing most of the work. Moms can't do it on their own, not without suffering greatly. Dads can step up and help, but you're gonna need more than two people to care for a kid. 2 parents maybe the minimum but it barely cuts it.

Okay but if your name's on the lease it's kind of hard to just up and leave. Not without fucking up your credit and moving back home. Best to not jump into such a commitment with a slob in the first place.

Yes and no. I knew two kinds of mean girls. Those who would talk shit behind your back and those who would do so to your face. The former were goodie-goodies who never touched a boy in highschool. They went on to marry their college sweetheart. The latter were a mix of promiscuous and weirdly conservative. They get with players, break up, trash talk them, rinse and repeat. Some would go on to find God or a decent career as they mature. Probably cynical, but more down to earth unlike the goodie-g…

I don't think it's required, but I rarely get horny over love and trust alone. That's just me though. I think love and trust things fuel good, committed relationships, but raw/carnal desire often fuels sex. Of course that desire fades as soon as it appears, so you're ultimately left with the foundation of love and trust. I think as long as that's there, you can continue having sex with your partner. It might not be as lustful, but definitely bonding.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/23 01:13 AM
2

It means to find someone sexually appealing. The sex desired from that appeal is carnal and sensual in nature. Still loving, just more raw I guess. It's not all dressed up in wholesomeness.

I think a lot older women are just projecting their own regrets/trauma from being with older men onto young women in an infantilizing effort to protect them. Think Carrie mother's but less religiously driven.

Listen, if you don't want a likely lifelong level of commitment, you're a fool to mix finances and give your partner a permanent key to your private sanctuary. Period. Get your prenup, make your changes to the default rules if you want. Definitely don't invite some random person into your living situation without some sort of permanent, legal plan. You can approach a woman and talk about the weather as a way to then carry on into asking her out, but the first move would be that transition away from "hey the weather sucks today" to "can I have your number/will you go out with me". That is making the first move. Yeah, I agree. I like to think I made the first move on my guy. I did write my number on his hand after asking him on a the first date. Damn. Flip the sexes and I swear my mother could have wrote this. From her experience, men were needy like children, even the most successful ones. Given that she was already a mother, she wasn't missing out on much if being with a man entailed another little shit on her tit.

My mother believed people were more trouble than they were worth in terms of monogamous relationships. Now she wasn't a misandrist or an asexual. She had many colorful friends and colorful encounters throughout her life and continues to to this day. She was extremely close with one of her older friends though. She kept her company until she died and ugly cried at her funeral. Suffice to say, there's no shortage of fulfilling, enduring love out there in the world. Romantic relationships are not t…

A strawman as well. The discussion is often about wanting a relationship yet people attack this desire by saying a relationship won't solve all your problems when no one claimed it would. It's assumed wanting a relationship = holding someone responsible for your life. I get where that assumption stems from since romantic relationships are over idealized, but a lot of times wanting a relationship is just that. Men are still responding to some stimulus whether from their imagination, an idea, or something visual though. The same could be said for women. I know when I see an attractive guy, I get hot and bothered and need to get a second look at him. I will give the accelerator and inhibition concept credit though. I think that's where the difference between the sexes is evident. I think women are prone to braking more, hence many women don't act on their attraction to the hot guys they see in the world…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/23 01:36 PM
1

Also, women don't really act on that attraction generally speaking. They don't pursue the guys they're actually attracted to. It's still a man's job to initiate and get the ball rolling. They usually settle for mister good enough and grow to love them for their personality as a result.

Why would I kill you for screwing my SO? You're not the one who said all the sweet shit about me being your one and only. I don't know about you, but a Tuesday night and a beer is very meaningful to me. It's not worth making a big deal about though. That's not to call it trivial. It's just one of life's many pleasures. I don't hold it above the others, but a lot people seem to hold sex above a Tuesday night and a beer as if it was sacred (almost like the religious zealots modern society shuns). I just find it ironic that's all.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/22 01:54 AM

They aren't trivial, but stressing about body counts and how many people you can sleep with is not a healthy way of reconciling with those issues. As the kids say, go touch grass every once in a while instead of devouring pill manifestos on the Internet. Pill forums will not be your salvation.

For wondering if anyone here actually stopped to wonder why they're so hung up on shit they should have moved past after high school? Like are people actually exercising they're freedom to fuck or just trying to rebel against something to make a point & validate their lonely egos?

Hot take, all this obsession over body counts and hook-up culture reminds me of the repressed Christian kid rebellions I witnessed down south. They would cut loose and sleep around making a big deal about their sexual liberation or body count. It was about shunning Jesus and proving religion no longer had a hold over their genitals. Little could they see it still had a hold of their minds. As for the religiously ambivalent and atheists, sex was just a Tuesday night and beer. No big deal, but nic…

The thing is though people do get hurt even if you're trying to be true to yourself. That's not me saying what's right or wrong either. What I said came from observing personal relationships and mainstream media. The narrative favors being one with somebody else. It's about finding the one and becoming a single unit for some reason. I'm not saying that's how it should be. That's just how it is and breaking that narrative is bound to breaks some hearts.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/22 07:02 PM

That's not the norm though. Happily ever after implies building and sharing a life together. Interdependence basically. Having a relationship any other way is consider half-assed, uncommitted, and selfish.

Question for all the nay-sayers: what about the metaverse makes socializing any more superficial and commodified than it is in real life? In the U.S. alone people aren't as authentic as they appear. Sex is something you share with someone and isn't always an indication of desire or love. You can be with the best man ever, give it up to him on the first date, and still not give a shit about him. A woman could be so good to you, you don't realize she's gone emotionally. I think men really overestimate the value of sex, hence why women continue to manipulate them with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 12:45 PM
1

You don't have to. Don't settle for being less than the best, but don't try to be equal the guy before her. Be the best she ever had.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 12:35 PM
1

No you aren't equal because no two people are the same dude.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 12:26 PM

Well if he rushed into a committed relationship with all his exes, I would think the rushing bit had something to do with why they're exes in the first place. I think slowing down would be an effective change of strategy. Not sure how that ties into women waiting to have sex, but yeah.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 12:23 PM

His subconscious will tell him you preferred the other guy. And how is that any woman's problem?

I wouldn't call it suppression when western media simply caters to the shrinking attention span of it's audience. You only get 5 seconds to make an impression. Mr. Tate obviously left his it seems, but I doubt he'll be relevant by the end of the summer.

I don't think legit is the right way of looking at this. Someone else here mentioned how sexual attraction is an additive to friendship. They mention how it adds a new layer to inside of subtracting from the friendship. Perhaps sexual attraction adds a new flavor or color, thus changing the dynamic. Let's say friendship is blue and lust is yellow. Mixing those two together is going to give a whole new color, thus a new relationship dynamic. Things aren't purely blue anymore, but if you and your …

Okay I get it. I definitely didn't drop any hankerchiefs and don't just roll with every idea my guy has, so I'm hardly as feminine as your ideal. Still, I think being playful, affectionate, and chaotic softens the masculine tendencies.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/22 04:32 PM
1

How do define too much confidence? Going by your example, I say modern women are far from what you think. Most won't even step out their comfort zone to initiate the first hello, let alone a date. I agree being masculine in making the first move is ballsy for a woman, but from my experience it payed off. It never took away from my feminity either. I just knew the man I wanted and pursued. I made him feel desired because surprise I desired him. No need to play coy and passive.

I think it just depends what types of problems you would rather deal with. I don’t think one type of woman is necessarily “better” than the other in society itself because as you said we’ve all got crosses to bear, but I do think people are more compatible with certain types of problems than others. Agreed. We're not everybody's cup of tea, but there are people who won't mind what we're brewing.

I think this type of skittishness and avoidance is more an indicator of early childhood trauma and/or mental illness than it is of sexual promiscuity and those effects if that makes sense?? You're right on the money, however, I wouldn't consider a person with that background any better than someone who's sexually promiscuous. I am a super low count woman who feels and makes an intentional effort to be extremely present in my relationships. Same, but my intentional efforts don't stem from not sle…

Women who have lower body counts are more discerning and practical, more present in relationships, less likely to wander, and more likely to place value on their relationships / invest in people rather than hopping to the next ill fitting human when something doesn’t work out. Assuming she's not the avoidant, loner type. Low count women can be just as skittish and flighty as well.

Like I get the intention of friends first, but it feels like beating around the bush. Like you can go out with a man without hooking up or be exclusive right away. Dating is the getting to know each other period. It's about getting friendly/flirty, not being friends.

I didn't say it first because what the fuck does a 16 year old know about love? Seriously though, love confessions are too Disney. Just say it as causally or endearingly as you want when you want. What matters more is the dedication and actions behind your words. It's not enough to say or feel it. You gotta be willing to put that person before yourself and hope that they will do the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/22 11:36 PM

True, but maybe that speaks to the difference between how both sexes initiate. I like to think I went against the grain by asking out my boyfriend, but given I didn't cold approach him like a man I guess it doesn't matter to OP. I personally see nothing appealing about the cold approach. It's like barging into the room and demanding your presence to be known. Maybe that's a solid strategy for men, but I think women are a bit less hot and heavy. I suppose this is where the "friends first" advice …

I know what you mean, but to be fair society's been falling apart since forever. Can you really recall a time where having a family was easy? Perhaps that brief period after the first two world wars, but those probably were pretty rare exceptions in time. A lot of average folks struggled to get by. Not every child survived to adulthood. The only things that probably kept them going was religion and survival instinct. Outside of that life was pretty fucking bleak.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 05:27 PM

For you and all the family oriented folks it's fulfilling. I'm not knocking it either. I'm sure raising a family is very fulfilling, but we all find meaning in different places. I find tutoring little Timmy, making bank from it and growing my plants on my off days very meaningful. No. It's called picking up a textbook and seeing for yourself. I mean look at Walt Disney. Dude created an entertainment empire. I know I wouldn't build anything close to what he did, but I'm not gonna bullshit myself by having little shits to carry on my memory. Nine times out of ten, I'll be forgotten in three generations. Best believe they'll know who uncle Walt is though, but hey be my guest.

I guess so if you feel young women aren't interested in a serious relationship. I don't know. You narrowed your own pool so you figure it out. All I know is if I was a guy, I wouldn't discriminate. I'm not interested in marriage or children. Why not have fun with the older, mature ladies?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 04:28 PM

Hard to say.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 04:17 PM

Who said I'd be pursuing young chicks as a dude? Older women are less uptight and forward than their young counterparts. Unless I'm on a college campus or work, I doubt I'd get a single 20 something number in a general public setting. Young women have their guard up and are quite antisocial behind their initial politeness. Besides most are too busy with their lives to be bother outside of traditional social settings like school, bars, parties, or work.

Sustainability is a value, not a general perquisite for a meaningful life. Just because something's not sustainable doesn't negate it's impact on or meaning to a person. For example, the way we live in the modern age is hardly sustainable in the long run, but I bet most us find meaning in our unsustainable lifestyles.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/22 07:39 PM

Not saying I disagree, but why can't you find meaning in sleeping around? Waking up to take the kiddies to school isn't everyone's idea of a meaningful life. It's all subjective at the end of the day.

Now I could stand on my soapbox and profess how anti-marriage I am til I die, but you like so many wouldn't give a shit. I'm an outlier. I don't count so I won't bother challenging the generalization. I kn…

Love and affection isn't bullshit, but marriage is. There are no guarantees in life, yet people wanna act like marriage is the end all be all of love and commitment. Women and men flock to it thinking it's makes their relationship the real deal or some shit when it's no different than any old long term relationship. I hear chick and dudes going on about their emotional reasons for marrying as if they those things aren't present in a good relationship before the license. Anyway, marriage is no gu…

It's only beneficial because of the incentives. Take away the incentives or stop caring for them, there's no reason for a woman to marry.

I understand that most women aren't antisocial rebels who could careless about what others think of them, but wasn't feminism about doing the socially unacceptable thing in the name of freedom? Why backpedal so hard when it comes to relationships? Women have real power to challenge this institution. You're telling me us chicks can't dismantle this bitch if we wanted? Make it so social acceptance is based on love and not a glorified pinky promises?

Marriage is about sharing a life with someone. It means being there for each other no matter what. Even when one of you are down and out, together you'll pull through for better days. Marriage isn't a piece of paper. It's a commitment to love. No wait, that's just a loving relationship. What's the point of marriage again? Oh right benefits. Those things that are for whatever reason locked behind the marriage paywall.

More like polite, but I see what you mean. Still, do many women go out there way to talk up a stranger? Maybe older ladies or eccentric chicks, but your average woman? I doubt it.

You'll probably get the same answers, albeit with women being more standoffish. People just aren't that social around strangers they aren't into.

I don't think there's anything missing honestly. Everything is caring on as designed (either by nature or our own doing). Sure we're miserable, but when has humanity ever not been? We're a species constantly in flux, forever struggling to adapt to our environments and rationalize the bullshit they devolve into. Man killed God by the turn on the 20th century via enlightenment and industrialization. What we lost in the form of tight knit communities and self-sufficiency under the Lord was replaced…

What exactly makes a woman approaching a man easy? She's merely taking the initiative in the dating game. Nothing about asking a man out for a drink implies jumping his dick immediately.

We were freshmen in high school and acquainted with each other thanks to him hanging around my neighborhood with his friends. We got to know each other better during a group project. I think it was after spring break I asked him for ice cream. I chickened out before the break, because of course I did.

If men were just as chained up, why go back to the good old days? Seems like people are deviating from traditionalism because it sucked. The problems we see today is just people sucking at adapting to change like always. Women and men want to have their candy and eat it too these days, but everyone needs to get with the new program.

Yes when you get down to it, but I don't see it as a negative thing. Love and sex reenforce each other. Take one away and the relationship suffers. The thing is though, I think taking away love diminishes the significance of sex within the context of a romantic relationship. I mean think about. If I stopped caring about my boyfriend as a person and started treating him like some random lay, the sex won't be as special. It would mean as much as a one night stand. Still hot, but he's just another …

Why does sex make your relationship special though? I doubt it's the sex itself, but the exclusivity of the act and overall emotional connection you forged with your husband that gives sex it's significance. Take those two things away then sex is about as meaningful as a hug with your nana. Sweet, but not all that unique.

Masculine.

I scored 106 for masculinity and 96 for feminity. About a 10 ten point difference. Seems pretty accurate, but I'm not sure what these scores really says about a person. I still feel like a woman. I guess I have some masculine leaning tendencies from how I was raised I guess. Still an interesting assessment.

No I don't. I think they just want to lick their wounds and wallow in their collective pain and rage. That's not to put them down, however. I've been there. Not over dating, but still. I find myself pulled back to that place more often than I like, but I know rage and despair is a poison that will ruin you if you let it. I avoid the Internet or anywhere that will enable that madness, because those things aren't worth losing my self to. I understand seeing no other way but to give in. I really do…

If people really wanted what you said, subreddits like FDS and Redpill wouldn't exist. I think people just love stewing in their own misery while trying to make sense of an uncaring, nonsensical universe with other like-minded, miserable people. Suicide maybe the logical answer honestly, but humans aren't logical, so we'll actively avoid any and all rational choices. Instead, we'll continue to flock to our pill of choice and chug on just as nature intend.

According to evolution, in the strictest sense, yes those effects are natural. All our naturally evolved instincts didn't just happen out of no where. As you know, our environment shapes our habits and it morphs our instincts so we adapt to it accordingly. What's happening now is more of the same growing pains our ancestors endured in the past. It's part of the game of life honestly. It's up to us to adapt or perish. Despite how dreary the dating game seems, as long as a good chunk of us are sti…
