this, i believe, is the problem. there are so many unreported cases i’m sure. abuse is defined in many ways, not just physical…i know of two men in my life who would have been able to make great cases out of what they’ve experienced, but they didn’t because they were worried about what other people would think, or that the woman would flip the story and have more people immediately on her side because she’s a woman. women are absolutely capable of abuse and they’re often so calculated and viciou…

exactly. i like women who fight alongside men, not “for” them. men know what men need best, and women like her who are using this grotesque saviour attitude only bring them down. it doesn’t help anyone.

my current boyfriend..i always wondered why we hung out in his car so much at first..i didn’t mind it..but then he finally told me—he was nervous of how i would react to his height. he’s 5’8, i’m also 5’8. he told me that in the past, women would make fun of him constantly for him being on the short side. my wonder is, why is this even an issue to some, genuinely? unlike being wary of obese folks, which is justified as it very often comes with health issues, being short does not impact anything …

i’ve noticed this too, deeply upsetting how animals will come before men in terms of getting support. tim horton’s does it too, i was asked to donate to a women’s education charity of some kind.

i cant even watch the whole thing. her voice is like sandpaper to the brain. “ive spent x months trying to help men not die alone..” weird narcissistic saviour attitude AND victim attitude with this lady. i don’t blame men for being so wary of women when they act like this..this lady needs intense therapy and to stay away from other people.

i’ve seen that before, where abortion should be allowed up to 24 hrs AFTER BIRTH. i had to explain to this person, that if you have already gone through the effort of birthing the child, why not put it up for adoption? give the child to a family who will cherish him/her. why end the baby’s life after all the struggles with pregnancy and after the little one has already joined us in this world. its sickening.

i wonder, is it the argument of postpartum depression, and that it makes women kill their children? in that case, why not introduce mandatory mental health checks, it would be a better option than just letting it happen and having the father/family deal with the consequence. in the case of stories like the one in the article, i don’t believe there’s an excuse at all.

yeah. it sounds crazy both ways, so i believe both should have the same consequence. is that a hot take or what? how could this possibly even be an argument? murder = jailtime. simple at that…you’d think…

“Dr Emma Milne, an associate professor in criminal law and criminal justice at Durham University, found that women who are accused of killing a newborn are incredibly vulnerable and experience pregnancy as a moment of crisis.” this basically just says, “she just wasn’t feeling like herself, she wouldn’t have done this if she was in a good headspace.” okay, sure. but isn’t that a reasonable excuse for all other kinds of murder now? you could very well say they weren’t in a good headspace and that…

there’s one phrase there that easily describes most female vs male issues…”damned if you do, damned if you don’t.” thats honestly how it all is at the end of the day! if he pays and gets taken advantage of? damned. if he doesn’t pay and gets chewed out? damned. it sucks.

this is true, there are bigger issues. in my area, tons of families/couples/singles are losing their homes because the mortgage rates spiked so bad they simply can’t afford it anymore. they may have bought them a few years before the housing crisis, but they are getting screwed over still years later. having kids is a luxury now too, they’re simply too expensive.

thank you for the thoughtful response. i would suggest more men be openly adverse to paying the full bill, but i assume that would only hurt their chances with the woman in particular/potentially others if the word spreads. what is a man supposed to do when faced with these two options, isn’t it nigh impossible to end the cycle based on this?

you’d think with all the advancements we’ve made, we’d drop silly expectations like this.

genuinely, why is this still a common argument? why SHOULD the man always pay? i’ve always offered to split the bill with my boyfriend unless he insists he wants to treat me. is it just because back in the day, it was commonplace for the man to pay because women didn’t work? i suppose it has just carried on from then..?

i know many, many men that would enjoy something like this. if i have my male friends in the backyard and i start a fire, they’ll stand there for hours throwing branches into it and going back to their primal states. making stick weapons, throwing things into the fire, singing, just having a great time. i’m absolutely certain there’s a good market for this, if it was a week long trip with a trustworthy leader who would keep everyone safe/teach survival tips and tricks..its a genuinely useful lit…

1) yes (for multiple reasons) and if another woman or man told me he/she didn’t want kids, i wouldn’t care because it’s not my place to care. 2) it is almost always women berating other women about this. when i told my parents in general conversation that i wouldn’t want to raise kids anytime soon, my mom instantly went off on how it’s the main purpose of being a woman…boyfriend will leave me if i don’t…meanwhile my dad completely agrees with my stance and said he fully agrees with my views. sam…

even if you have lost some of the passion or talent for things you did in the past, you absolutely need to give yourself credit for pushing onward. i don’t know many people who could go through a situation like that for so long and be able to live any semblance of a normal life afterward at all. please try not to forget that, my friend. i wish you the best of luck. i’m sorry that the people in your life that you were supposed to trust have failed you. but you can always say that you didn’t quit,…

jesus fucking christ, man. im so angry for you. im glad youre still with us and i hope you’re safe now. it’s heartbreaking and infuriating that you have never received resolve, but props to you for carrying on and continuing to make a life for yourself despite what you have been through. i re-read your original post too, and i wanted to clarify, her friends witnessed some of this abuse? did they know the full extent of it?

the “well you’re a guy, so you must have liked it” thing pisses me off so much. i saw an argument somewhat pertaining to that, it was that “a man cant be raped if he isn’t hard, so he must have enjoyed it”. its complete bullshit. you can easily flip the scenario! so what if the woman was wet: did she enjoy it? it is very heartbreaking that men (and even women) rarely see resolve from traumatic events because its explained away or minimized by everyone if the perpetrator is female.

i’m sorry that you had to experience this from a woman you were supposed to feel safe with and trust. its still debated often online that women are indeed capable of being pedophiles, abusers, rapists. they absolutely can be, and just like you said, there is a privilege involved. there are many more cases like yours where a mother figure is the perpetrator, and she either gets away with it or gets a very lax sentence as opposed to what a man would get. one great example that comes to mind is Cas…

if you ask the average woman, “have you ever been harassed?” and she’ll most likely say yes, meanwhile a man who has experienced the same events would most likely say no. i’ve seen some feminists attribute some really wacky shit as being harassment, such as a man looking at a woman too long, a man accidentally bumping into a woman…etc. i saw a video of a woman working out in a gym in super (i mean super) revealing clothes and she was surprised when people were looking at her, and she said this w…

props to you for being able to deal with this for as long as you have. i don’t mean to diss your wife, but i find this very sad. words of gratitude don’t mean much to a man devoting his life to his family and receiving only more work in return. i believe that many women nowadays want what your wife has—bills paid, chores done, and she gets to stay home and hang out with the kid. this is why you received skewed responses in favour of your wife, the women commenting want to be in that position as …

^ this is a very important point. as to false allegations, OP, please take that VERY seriously..i had a male friend’s life get ruined by that shit because he had no one to back him up at the time. recording private conversations is illegal in some states, if it is in yours, i’d recommend having a friend/family member present with you whenever you need to speak to her. best of luck

try your best to have limited contact with her. if she’s asking legitimate important questions about work, answer short and blunt. don’t be overly snippy or rude with her (she’ll most likely say you’re discriminating against her for being female) but make it clear that you don’t want any conversation with her that isn’t strictly related to work. speaking to her alone is a bad idea because without proof, she can make up whatever she wants. try to have another person within earshot if you’re speak…

this is exactly the case. my ex was very unclean and i thought that was just the way intact dudes were. tons of my friends felt the same. it wasn’t until i educated myself and actually read into it more that i realized most intact dudes are hygienic, my ex was just an outlier. i’m sure theres plenty of uncut dudes who are way more unhygienic, it’s just more noticeable on intact dudes unfortunately
