I said their view on original sin is not radical. It is very orthodox, but it is not radical.

As an atheist you might find it radical, but most Christians wouldn't.

It is not radical. Most Christians believe no one is innocent. The post says nothing about radical interpretation of original sin. The post misuses original sin. That is the issue. Either way, there are much more pressing concerns than male disposability.

It won't hold up, so there are no right there.

You are creating the strawman by citing WBC/radicals. They use the term radical, but they cite points which moderate Christians believe. As a moderate Christian, who supports an egalitarian society, I find this post offensive. I can believe in evil, original sin, and still support equality. My religion doesn't give me anymore rights than anyone else.

Thank you for the source. If we were innocent why would we need Christ?

Here is a list of scriptures WBC uses for justification. None of them refer to original sin. They are a hate mongering radical group, but their radicalism is not based on original sin. Leviticus 20:23 - "And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them." Leviticus 26:30 - "And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my s…

No it does not. It is their interpretation of scriptures in general is what makes them radical.

No.

No you have it all wrong man. It is just that sin had a beginning. At some point before there were humans there was no sin, then humans came around and started sinning.

That is not the question I asked.

It's relevant. Does she believe those early people acted in perfect accordance with moral values; from God or otherwise?

Does your Aunt believe that humanity, through evolution, has beginning?

You're just really dumb. I can't respond to you anymore. Go and review your logical fallacies. If your Aunt and cousin don't believe in original sin that is fine, but they do not understand theology. Maybe they adhere to Swedenborgianism which also supports original sin.

Original sin is a pivotal concept for Catholics, not all Christians, certainly not liberal Christians which most are. You must be slow, how did I not address your argument. You cannot be a Christian and not accept original sin. Period. There is no wiggle room on this matter. The concept of original sin may differ, but the concept in some form is key for any and all Christians. If there was no original sin there would be no point for Christ's atonement of it. Christianity would be pointless. It d…

Can you name a single denomination that does not believe in the concept of original sin? Don't worry, I'll wait. The basis of Christianity is Christ's atonement for original sin. I am a Christian Universalist, and that is about as liberal as Christians come. Even we accept the concept of original sin. The problem with the post is they use the term radical, but they cite moderate ideas.

You can not be a Christian without believing in original sin, and it doesn't matter how liberal of a Christian you are. It is part of the central belief. I understand that extremism is what makes you radical; however, the post equates those beliefs with Christian radicalism when there is nothing radical about them. You can't be radical about original sin. You either believe in it, or you do not.

Please explain how one can be a Christian and not believe in original sin or evil.

That is the way to build a movement. Let us start by alienating what could be a large segment of our base.
