You sound like someone who has a self-defeating attitude that wallflowers by the bar where people come to you, social cues and keyboard jockey chitchat aside. I only need to do one approach like that to not fuck it up next time. How does thinking, "unwanted" help me get better at meeting people and making a good impression to them? I like the advice of being pleasant that someone gave below.
