On verge of divorce .. What do you say to your wife who says “why aren’t you trying everything”.I don’t think you’re in the right subreddit for marital advice. I will say this, divorce can be a horrible thing. In my situation, I think it would’ve been better for us to have separated for a while to clear the air and provide clarity on the relationship. I’ll also say that if either of you are dealing with depression fix that first. Depression doesn’t get better after divorce. I wish you the best, it definitely sounds like you both need couples counseling and I highly recommend talking to a t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/02/25 11:13 PM
What the fuck! I just inherited a little over 2.0MDon’t disclose your finances to anyone you date or marry in the future. Keep your money, finances, and expenses separate. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/02/25 05:14 AM
What the fuck! I just inherited a little over 2.0MYou dumb bastard. If the divorce isn’t finalized, then these become marital assets. If your father died after you were divorced it would be a different story. She has a claim to those funds as soon as you open your damn mouth. So STFU, let the existing divorce process proceed and be happy with your unexpected windfall. Also, and I can’t say this with enough seriousness. “Delete this damn post and anything tracing back to it” | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/02/25 05:12 AM
The future as it would have beenI have a good one for you. I celebrated my daughter’s birthday a few years ago at my ex’s house and my ex’s in laws showed up. I’d known these people for over 20 years, over half of my life before the divorce a few years prior. Few words were spoken between us as I tried to remain friendly. My ex’s boyfriend shows up. He’s a decade older than her and one of my former work colleagues. They begin chatting like they’ve known each other for years. Moral of the story, leave the past where it belongs … | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/25 06:54 AM
Ex lazy during marriage but not after divorce? It sounds like they were suffering from depression | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/01/25 06:49 AM
Those who remarried after divorce…I just know the chances of a second divorce go up after the first one. I want to help those statistics go down. For me, I’m being very careful with who I choose to spend my time with in a relationship. I’ve made a lot of mistakes up to this point in the last four years, but I think I finally have a good idea of how personal improvements to myself have made me a better person and hopefully a better partner to my future spouse. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/24 01:49 PM
Having a hard time coping with something that should be the least of my worriesBest advice I can give you is to lean into the pain. You also need to learn how to focus your mind on things other than the horrible images of your ex with someone else. I read a really good comment one time that didn’t exactly apply to divorced couples, but it basically said don’t ruminate about a woman you’re not in a relationship with or you’ll drive yourself crazy. I recommend getting a therapist and spending time working on self-help. This is not going to be an easy road but given enough ti… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/10/24 02:26 PM
I have never seen a woman act right in a marriage or relationship unless she believes that her man will walk awayOP stated “ I have never seen a woman act right in a marriage or relationship unless she believes that her man will walk away ” I don’t know about you, but that sounds like some controlling and manipulative stuff. Basically I could have said “check yourself before you wreck yourself” but hopefully that got the point across. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/10/24 08:31 PM
I have never seen a woman act right in a marriage or relationship unless she believes that her man will walk awayHave you gone to couples counseling? Sounds like you both have stuff to work on. Sometimes when you’re dealing with depression and sadness it’s hard to feel love. It’s true what they say though, you don’t know what you lost until it’s gone. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/10/24 08:27 PM
I have never seen a woman act right in a marriage or relationship unless she believes that her man will walk awayYou know it’s cheaper than a divorce to go to couples counseling. Having been through divorce I don’t recommend it for anyone. Sometimes in a relationship things go sour and instead of understanding the underlying issues to fix the things that are not working we see divorce as a fast way to happiness. You might not believe this, but you’re probably doing things right now that are also ruining the marriage. There’s a reason why you two got married in the first place and it’s worth it to fight for… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/10/24 12:40 PM
Child's passportAssuming this is in the US and your daughter is a US citizen, a passport is unnecessary. Here’s the full list https://www.helpwithmybank.gov/help-topics/bank-accounts/required-identification/id-types.html | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/08/24 03:55 AM
