Most times I've heard this have been about verbal comments too. But maybe you've heard/read differently. Because if calling it out is normalized, maybe we'll have fewer outwardly shitty people. And that's good for everyone.

I'm trying to paint an overall picture without necessarily doing a deep dive. Mass shootings don't all have a single, common, causal thread. I don't like the term "incel" to describe a type of shooting, because it oversimplifies what's going on in the minds of those particular shooters, which may be something similar to other mass shooters that one wouldn't describe as incel but which could also be addressed with similar strategies. All that to say, with a huge increase in mass shootings, it's i…

Mass shootings are way up from decades ago. And just because they don't touch the numbers for gang or domestic shootings, we should ignore their common links?

It's hilarious to think if something like that passed. Would the head of that department be elected or appointed? "Who gets the most ass in the Clerk of Courts Office? Joey? Great! He's doing flirting lessons at the community center next month."

Okay, some baseline needed here. Do you care about reducing murders at all? If there's a class of murder that happens now, which didn't used to happen, maybe we can reduce it more easily than the types of murders that have been happening for longer. Not to mention, no one is saying don't try to reduce other murders. But when people are killed with semi-regularity four an identifiable issue, you don't ignore it. You put new resources into preventing it.

As a guy, I'm confused by "I know how us men feel about sluts." I know at least a few different ways a lot of men feel about that label. I know it's not the point of your question, but I cringe when I read someone trying to speak for everyone. Personally, I bristle at the term, unless someone is labeling themselves that. If they aren't, it's usually being used in a really shitty, judgmental way.

A big assumption here is that the parent gives dating advice at all. I had two parents, both of whom gave me advice about a lot of things, but not dating. I realized that's why the premise sounded odd to me. But let's say I had been given dating advice. I'll assume I would have treated it like other advice I received. Some I followed, some I didn't retain, some I thought I knew better and ignored. Still other advice I may have misunderstood/misinterpreted, especially through the lens of time aft…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
