There are ways to address challenges you face without appearing insecure. If you have Parkinsons and mention you're going to the doctor you're not insecure, you just have your own set of challenges and need to respond accordingly. To me, if you have a glaringly obvious "tough situation" that you are dealing with, you would seem more insecure by avoiding discussing it at all times.
