Unwanted attention happens regardless of looks, age, marital status, etc. many guys would still do it even if told not to, there's no getting away from it short of disguising yourself as a guy.

The only way to avoid getting rejected is to never approach anyone at all, but what if no one ever approaches you?

Below average guys are given experience despite what this place says. Maybe not as much as "top tier" guys, but it's enough for at least an attempt if they don't have autism. Almost no one is a virgin past 40 after all. Also, "just give them a chance!" does not turn awkward guys into perfect husbands, because awkward guys are just as capable of being mean/incompatible for other reasons, same as anyone else.

The ones who actually need to worry about things like when the next rent and grocery bill is due are focusing on survival. Not ending up on the street is a higher priority than thinking about if they're tall enough for dating so they aren't here to share their viewpoints.

By many you mean well under 1%. Prostitution is illegal almost everywhere and has a huge stigma so most are going to go with a regular job. The only ones who would take up that offer are the nearly homeless where the alternative is sleeping on the sidewalk. Or the ones that cater to the upper class, but the vast majority are streetwalkers.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'd rather not have half a dozen baby moms because I need external validation from society or too stupid to use a condom. Those behaviors are correlated for a reason and I will never return to that life, even if it means I'm single for the rest of my days, it's not worth it.

Another pet peeve, people who carry the bare minimums so you're out all the money because they only had a $5k PD policy. Ideally insurance wouldn't have policy limits or if they do it would be in the millions.

It's 2026 yet a barbaric practice from 3rd world countries is still legal. Why has no one done anything to change this, instead we get stupid laws.

Red flags I consider to be harmful behavior like doing drugs or texting and driving, icks are behavior that doesn't have to be harmful but I still don't like such as making messes and not cleaning them up.

No need to tell me that, I'm talking about the guys who panic over "icks" because they're afraid of losing someone.

My personal definition of an "ick" is something that makes me lose attraction no matter what the situation, I don't care what other people think about them because it's my choice, not theirs.

There will always be a group of men that ignore current societal norms no matter what. There will also always be some people who will be unhappy no matter what you do. Any moderately attractive woman will get approached no matter what media says, otherwise the number of relationships formed outside of dating apps would be 0% instead of 85%. Choosing to limit your own opportunities only means that others will take them.

I've seen that to be a common problem, people have forgotten IRL social skills in favor of magic rectangles, why take risks and face rejection when there's a device that can give most of what you want cheaply? Many want a quick fix and don't want to take time to socialize properly.

I like how most of them are places where people specifically tell you NOT to talk to women, almost like listening to strangers who don't have your interests in mind is a bad idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/26 09:49 PM

This is reinforced by everyone, not just women. You don't see any guys standing up for other guys like that, more often than not they'll join in.

Well theoretically I could date Scarlett Johansson, but basing any decisions around that would be very stupid. Just because something could happen doesn't mean it will.

extremely religious cults. Definitely not in the Amish community, Orthodox Jewish or hard-core Catholics. The same places with an average TFR or 5-10? How does that math work out? They can't possibly be worse off than the people that stay at home and doomscroll.

The internet is funny because less than 5% of the population can hold an opinion, yet it's more than enough to form a space around and amplify it because of how algorithms and discovery works. Basing how the population thinks at large on a single opinion or even a website is a big mistake.

There is something about the pre-2015 Internet that feels different compared to modern. If I could describe it, there was less of a "corporate" vibe and the "everything made has to have a purpose or make money." I can see it in old flash games, homebrew, and even early Youtube. I wonder if we'll ever get that old vibe back.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/26 07:47 AM

Better than ending up in prison, paying child support, or in the worst cases, dead. "Choose better" exists for a reason, but it applies to men as well as women.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/26 11:59 PM

There's no point in having standards if they're folded at the first sign of adversity. Clearly they weren't that important after all, an unfavorable choice is still a choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/26 11:19 PM

Correct, but it's still their choice to make.

The woman's advice is accurate if you remember that RP is about making MEN happier. It doesn't care about what the woman wants. In fact many make the argument that women being able to make their own money and being able to live on their own hurts men. It's one thing to self improve so more people like you, it's another to tell people they should change their lives to please others. I mean, "Have genuine sexual desire for him?" What is this statement? Are they supposed to force themselves to be a…

What it's showing is (in)famous people will never have trouble attracting someone regardless of their morals or looks. If millions of people know who they are, there will be no shortage of options even if less than 1% would consider an interaction. Serial killers are famous, celebrities are famous, Bob from Accounting is not famous. The average person will never have millions of people who know them by name and thus if they don't make an effort, the number of people who are interested in a date …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/26 05:34 AM

"Works for people you know" and "works for people in general" are 2 different statements. Most people I know IRL met in person, not on apps. Much easier to talk to the person next to you than to be another message in a 1000+ long notification list (seriously, even average women get TONS of matches).
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 12:35 AM

You'd be competing against millions of other men, many of which who have more resources for a chance at a woman. If this actually worked, dating apps wouldn't be trash.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 12:27 AM

On a scale of 100s maybe, people were never meant to interact with millions of others.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 12:24 AM

That doesn't seem to be working out too well.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/26 12:23 AM

Envy is slowly going to kill us all.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/26 11:57 PM

Yes they do, even now. But many people complain they're too broke for dating, meanwhile the clerks at McDonald's are hitting it off. Seems like a skill issue tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/26 11:55 PM

It got me thinking because a common reason I see cited for not going out or interacting with people is $$$, meanwhile they have a monthly income similar to my parent's ANNUAL salary. But that can't be entirely true given poor people exist in other cultures and don't face these same issues. People have known for centuries about rich and famous people existing through media but they weren't trying to hold out for them, but something about social media changes this? I blame big tech companies, some…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/26 11:51 PM

$500 is still bad compared to even a menial job. It's quite competitive and not as easy as taking a couple of pictures for free money. It works as a side hustle, but risks still apply.

Take a look at the earnings figures for Onlyfans, very very few earn tons of money and most struggle to earn more than $200/month. Even though Onlyfans is safer and legal, it still has the stigma and risk of people finding out. Why would anyone take that risk if they have access to a middle class or better job that will pay more? Even being a waitress or a cashier is a better option than 95% of OF workers. Anyone who has the option to do something else isn't going to take that path, it's going t…

Well depending on where they live, then that could be decent money. Sure in other countries, but I'm assuming this is talking about the US. Also this depends on how hard they would like to work if anything. So its hard to really study for that, especially since this is an illegal field. $60/day for an illegal and dangerous job which pays less than McDonald's who starts at $13-15/hr is not decent money. For reference the median person earns over $200/day. It's far below the poverty line and would…

A woman consistently paying for a guy to have sex with? The chances of that happening are lower than the chances of me being struck by lightning.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/26 10:17 PM

If the average guy was the typical buyer, physical sex work wouldn't have a 100x death rate compared to the average job. There's a reason only certain clientele are interested in prostitutes and it's not just about money.

The fact it carries legal risk and that many will object on moral principles is very different from it not being viable. Being able to stay safe and out of jail I would consider part of being viable. If something is legally restricted then it can't be viable unless it's a low chance of getting caught like overseas scammers.

I'll take being a 2020s man over an 1800s man any day, slightly easier dating does not make up for the other downsides.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 08:09 PM

I'm here for the entertainment and delusions. It contrasts so sharply with my lived experiences I find it hard to believe most of these people are real.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 08:05 PM

Criminals aren't going to have the same inhibitions that a regular or awkward guy does, they'll go for any opportunity regardless of norms or legality. That's something that anyone can do regardless of looks or money.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 06:56 PM

Same, back when I used to live around that area. I much prefer middle class problems over possibly putting my life or belongings at risk.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 06:54 PM

It disproves that only "rich and hot" guys interest so there must be something else involved. It's much easier to become a criminal than to make 6 figures, sure it's bad for your life, but if someone is desperate enough and nothing else matters...

That's honestly good enough for some dudes. As long as they have sex and the option of walking away afterwards without investing anything, otherwise prostitution wouldn't exist.

I don't have the time to present papers, but last time I looked into it it was in the low single digit percents, it's not normal to have NO experience before 30 despite what this place looks like. If someone has nothing, there's a reason behind it whether it's from lack of options, religion, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 05:04 PM

Because the law won't let us and there's very little pedestrian infrastructure.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 05:33 PM

Depends on where you live, 4 miles in a place with good infrastructure isn't bad, 4 miles along a 55mph highway with no sidewalk is very dangerous.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 05:17 PM

It's objectively safer than ever, yet people are afraid to the point of not letting their kids play in the yard.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 05:16 PM

I've heard that it sometimes works out, but I would have a better chance of winning the 6 figure scratch-offs than finding someone through any social media with the number of catfish, scammers, etc. I know enough about the Internet that no one ever chats up strangers unsolicited unless they're trying to get something from them.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 05:12 PM

That can be considered child endangerment depending on State laws, some people will call the cops if they see someone without an adult.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 05:10 PM

You give them your address and they determine what bus stop they can go to. If they don't qualify then they have to get there some other way which most of the time would be driving.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 04:59 PM

I had a similar thing growing up along with it being nearly impossible to go over half a mile without encountering high speed roads and making a car mandatory to get anywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 04:52 PM

I wouldn't date anyone I met here either, but it's not the average person.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/25 04:43 PM

Today I learned we live too close to the school for the bus, but it's too far to safely walk so driving everyday is required. How did we get to a point where a 1.5 mile walk is impossible for a 12yo to do?

Many of those are regular social checks not specific to dating, but what short of "I like you, would you like to go on a date" is a green light?

Because I don't condone the activity.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/25 05:34 PM

They are free to make the choice, however others are free to judge them for it. It's one thing to look for [preferred race] locally, it's another to spend money on a plane ticket because "[insert keyword] women suck."

Yup I agree. I assume you're a software engineer? I do make software, but it's nowhere close to 6 figures and is basically enough to support myself and hobbies until I can inherit a house or find a woman who makes similar or more than me. A SWE that works at FAANG can easily support a whole family on his own income. But he is an outlier. Most men wouldn't be able to do that. Being traditional is discouraged for a reason, it's OK if it works out, but if something goes wrong it's very bad so mothers told their daughters to avoid such arrangements and work on their careers instead. This means more men lose out, but on average everyone is happier. At least make sure he makes a lot of money and you're able to save for if something goes wrong. Allowing someone else to hold all of the leverage over your life is bad.

My guess is the ones that do want to be stay at home moms can't find someone who makes enough to do so instead of getting a job themselves. At least if she has a job herself she can make her own decisions and isn't beholden to someone who doesn't even have money. There's no shortage of broke guys, but who would want to live in that household? Now if he made 10x as much that would be a different story, but those are a much smaller percentage of the population.

Don't paint them as virtuous when their intentions are anything but. They don't care about "saving" anyone, it's entirely self interest. If they didn't think it was benefiting them, they wouldn't do it, the woman doesn't matter at all. They're traveling because they either can't find anyone who's interested, or those that are interested aren't worth it to them. I don't know why people complain about sperm donors when the outcomes of people raised by sperm donors are similar to the outcomes of people raised by both parents, the average sperm donor recipient is significantly better off than the average person. The "single mother bad" statistics aren't coming from that group, it's coming from parents who never married or married and divorced, or a hookup/birth control gone wrong. No one's consent is being violated, so what's the issue?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/25 10:27 PM

You said wealth makes your life better but not for everyone. Sure, some people wouldn't be happy with more money, but most would be. Very few people would turn down a raise or money with no strings attached. I could keep going with good examples like Bernie Madoff. How'd wealth work for him, bro? He committed a crime to get that money and kept defrauding people long after he already had it. It's very different from getting money through legal means like a job or winning the lottery.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 06:22 PM

Replacing the algorithm and profit motive would go a long way. Not sure how much it would improve outcomes though as social media is also a big part of the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 05:58 PM

That's debateable. Too many sports athletes and lottery winners went broke and were worse off for it. They went broke because of their bad decisions after they got the money, not the money itself. There's a difference between being good with money but always being broke because of no opportunities and the opposite.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/25 05:51 PM

Women go after older guys more ONLY if they have money. An older guy with no money is not going to be picked before a young guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/25 11:46 PM

Indeed, it's possible to do everything correctly, and still lose simply because of where you live, being passed over for a job, or because you left the house a few minutes too early/late to meet your future spouse. But that's life, and there's nothing you can do about the luck part.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/25 09:46 PM

It's like poker, needs both good skill and good luck for a good outcome.

That is true, but at least you couldn't be arrested for getting one like some states are doing now. This is what the state chooses to waste our money on instead of the thousands of higher priority and more threatening crimes that are committed every day.

It's banned in certain states, but many people including the ones that helped write those laws have no problem booking a trip to a state that does allow it meaning only the people that live in those states AND don't have the ability to travel get screwed.

The vast majority of guys aren't hot enough to get dates on looks alone, so they need social skills. People with low or no social skills (ie autism) are going to have a harder time regardless of looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/25 10:07 PM

Guys with that issue aren't hot enough for women to want sex on sight though, that's why they need social skills like the vast majority of people.

People make mistakes, they learn from them and they share notes with others so they don't make them again (mostly). The bad behavior of a FEW specific people is making EVERYONE lonelier as they're less willing to take risks. Why is this even a question?

If they had to force their way into my house because the door is locked, yes. They could've knocked, rang the doorbell, or do anything else besides forcing entry. At that point they have 0 good intentions and likely mean harm to me, my family, or property. No one forced them to break in and risk their lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/25 07:43 PM

The difference is that in the old days, they weren't highly visible and easy to access via electronics. The only way you would hear about them is if they were a famous public figure or you happened to live nearby. I haven't given up, but many other guys have.

It's about competition, being 1/10 is difficult but doable, being 1/10000 is not. The skill issue here is being forced to compete with people who make several times more money than me and have far better looks who normally wouldn't be visible outside of their respective circles pre-apps. Dating locals only works if they're actually interested and there aren't policies against it.

Most men don't make 6 figures, fewer still when young. The outlier here are people who think having a 6 figure tech job and poorly managing their money is normal. I'm in the 45th percentile which…

Yeah a guy that signed over custody can still be put on child support, just like alimony. Yes, they still have to pay if the other person has full custody, that's how it works. So because a wealthy guy showed a poor w0man the good life he now has to pay for that lifestyle for her? Have you actually looked up how much child support is? It's never half the man's income, the point isn't to give them a rich life, the point is to prevent them from going into poverty and ruining our lives because of i…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/25 02:13 PM

Yet they all have to because w0m3n dont have financial value. Wrong, everyone is capable of making money unless they're disabled. I make 6 figures yet all the f3males ive talked to make 30k why should I be forced to date a poor person? No one is forcing you, but the consequences of dating significantly someone poorer should be noted. If you date someone poorer because it's easier and get screwed over later because of it, there's nothing that can be done at that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/25 02:08 PM

If she's not willing to contribute to the upkeep of the household, then why is she still around? I ask that question of every able bodied adult who isn't paying rent or contributing in some way similar to a NEET.

Then men shouldn't be marrying someone several tax brackets down, poorer men benefit from marrying rich women and have been awarded child support in many cases. Some people care more about having status than a stable living situation. Needless to say a 4+ figure ring is never happen, would rather save that for a house or vacation. Plus those can be lost or stolen, replacing a $100 ring is no big deal.

Correct, that's why I don't deal with high maintenance women and anyone else who is put off by frugal behavior. Ideally I would've caught it long before the wedding stage, flashy and expensive ceremonies are not my thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/25 02:37 PM

My mother's second wedding was about $500 I think, they used the saved money towards a down payment.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/25 02:37 PM

If I have to spend $10k of my own money instead of saving for a house then obviously she doesn't actually love me.

For the men here with 0 options, sure. But for most women and even average guys, it's horrifying. I don't want my parents coercing me into marrying someone I don't like and there's always an element of coercion to it (accept this marriage or else).

This is yet another viewpoint that exists exclusively in PPD and not the world at large. Guys here only say that to increase their own chances however slight. It isn't entirely about money, there's a big cultural factor as well. It's possible to be rich but still have trashy behavior and vice versa, clean poor people exist. Aim for the ones that are broke, but don't have bad behaviors like poor credit, a criminal record, drug addiction, and too many baby daddys. However aiming for someone above your social/economic status make it so much harder because you're competing with other people at their level while having very little in common with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/25 01:18 AM
2

Of course they end up with someone of a similar status, but the goal isn't "hot and rich women" in most cases, it's "finding a woman at all" or at least of a similar status. Many many guys are complaining about even trashy women not being interested in them when they appear to be middle - upper middle class.

We call it a "tenuous grasp of reality". People will see something on the big (movies, TV) or small (social media) screen and think it represents real life or should be taken as anything other than entertainment. It's not new as it happens time and time again, but every generation falls for it the same even if the media changes.

Some rules are flexible if other traits make up for it, but I have a few immutable ones like no obesity or criminal record that are always deal breakers even if they were a millionaire model. I bet people would break their "6ft+ only" rule if a younger Tom Cruise (5'8) was interested in them.

Something like 2-3% of the population is responsible for 40-80% of the virgins and incels. Having autism or bading social skills almost immediately puts them in the bottom 20% unless they have exceptional qualities to make up for it.

Unfortunately the average house price has increase by almost 100% and rent has gone up by about 70% while wages haven't increased nearly that much. The place where I live would be entirely unaffordable by 2025 standards, but we still have a 2019 mortgage payment/interest rate on it. Owning a house does come with some big ticket items like roof replacement and other unexpected surprises, but overall it has saved money over renting the past 5 years.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/25 11:09 AM

I like living in a place where rent doesn't increase by 5-10% every year while my wages go up 2%. A mortgage payment will remain the same for all 30 years and the only recurring expense at that point is property taxes which are very small here. If I pay a mortgage for 30 years, I have a house in my name, if I pay rent for 30 years I have nothing. Renting means that you are subject to more restrictions based on what the landlord and local ordinance allows. Now there are upsides to renting in some…

These are contradictory statements. If men truly value women just for their bodies, then providing something else would not give them more value. That statement isn't contradictory, most traits aren't mutually exclusive and having better attributes in areas outside of looks doesn't make a woman uglier. Corporate culture is completely cooked and not tenable in it's current form. When a single person who was never part of the conversation can get offended and petition for you to get fired regardless of actual performance, it's no wonder. Granted low income work had it's problems, but it's more along the lines of bad hours and terrible customers rather than "some busybody with too much time on their hands wants people to act like robots" and "how do I find dates?"

Not right now I hope, but I have heard stories IRL about men getting angry when the woman offers to pay or split the tab. It's not the cost, it's the mentality of "pay for everything because I only see you as a wallet" I'm checking for. Someone looking for a free meal is going to be lest tempted with a $6 drink than a $60 sit down place. They can do that and I'm sure they'll find men willing to fit the traditional provider role, but it won't fit my lifestyle and I wish them well.

I don't understand what you're referring to. I don't see what benefits are "only given to guys in marriage." It's about tradition and contracts. For example I'm not going to pick up a random woman to do all these things with. If a guy runs off when he gets bored. That's great. Win win for everyone. He gets away, and I'm not with someone who is bored and unhappy. That gets messy when kids are involved, it's also a waste of your time if they string you along only to refuse marriage later because "…

I'm assuming sex but wanted to check. Sex, cohabitation, getting free chores and labor, etc. Basically all the benefits that would traditionally only be given to guys in marriage. I'd prefer sex before an engagement ring. Fair enough, but the point is to stop the guy from using you then running off when they get bored. After all, why would they get married if you're giving them all of the benefits with none of the responsibilities?

What is husband privileges? Husband privileges are what I call the benefits of a committed relationship that aren't usually given to anyone else. Having sex isn't a husband privilege. I consider it one because the vast majority of sex occurs while in a relationship. Unpaid labor and household management are another. Is it a wife privilege to pay for a woman's food? Close, it's a girlfriend privilege.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 02:47 PM

Once again, do not give husband privileges to someone who is not willing to be the husband, otherwise they will string you along taking all the upsides and you will have no protection if they decide to leave. I bet if an engagement ring was required before sex that sort of behavior would stop quick.

The goal of prison isn't to pay people a minimum stipend to keep them off the streets, it's to separate bad people from the rest of society. The tricky part here is while welfare overall costs more than prison expenditures, that's only because there's far more welfare recipients than there are criminals, criminals are significantly more expensive on a per-capita basis. Keeping someone is jail costs $2500-4000/month depending on facility, most welfare payments aren't that large, for example SSI c…

So they can track them either way The point is to make it more difficult, if they already knew who you were they wouldn't need to ask for ID. These spaces absolutely should be monitored. It's not just a porn ban, it will eventually be expanded to include everything related to interacting with the internet, ie requiring ID to make an account. "Porn ban" is just an easy excuse to convince people to sign away their privacy while they build the infrastructure to track everything. The UK laws are not about porn and they never were, it's about stopping people from seeing content the government doesn't like and cracking down on dissent while the actual criminals go free.

how is that relevant at all? The discussion is that the law is biased. Responding with "OH YEAH WELL THE LAW IS THE LAW!" isn't exactly an argument. Most people here aren't in a position to change the law so they should learn how to minimize downsides and perform due diligence since that is within their control. Things you "owned and bought with your partner" that you paid for 80% of. That depends on if you live in a community property state or a common law state, it's a good idea to look up the law before signing a marriage contract. Then you have to KEEP paying for them afterwards because they got too used to the life you provided for them. By keep paying are you talking about alimony? 9/10 of divorces don't qualify for that.

The only time the state should pick it up is if the guy has no assets and can prove they're unable to work a job, similar to the requirements for disability. Otherwise we're subsidizing deadbeat dads which will only create more of them. The point of prison isn't to save money, it's to serve as a deterrent for potential criminals who may try the same thing. Locking someone up is expensive, but letting them run around and continue to cause havoc is even more so.

The number of guys not caring about social norms and hitting on women anyway disproves this, if they were actually afraid of being arrested they wouldn't do it. There are plenty of women in your home country who will use men for their money. There is no difference. There's a big difference, compare what the average woman makes here to what the average woman makes in other countries assuming laws even allow them to have a paying job. At home I am reasonably assured the woman making $60k/yr+ is not after me for my money because I don't make enough while someone who makes $120k/yr+ would be worried. When you PPB it's always going to be the case that you ou…

It works the other way here, people are by default single until they bring up commitment, it's always assumed the other person is talking to 3-4 other people in addition to you.

That's describing interactions with hot guys, it doesn't show that being attractive leads to increases in number of partners.

So the idea of ultra hot guys having 100s of partners isn't true? That makes sense considering that the common factor in nearly all casual sex is alcohol and drug usage. Sober hot guy < drunk average guy.

Roblox is supposedly getting into the dating market, wonder how much of a disaster this will be.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/25 08:34 PM

. Because they might be using you for an ego boost or just to gain the pleasure from rejecting you. Those can apply to someone below my league as well, people don't stop being bad just because they're less pretty. I expect rejection, but if it works out then even better. If someone thinks that I will be their wallet or give girlfriend privileges to someone who isn't a girlfriend they've got another thing coming.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/25 06:22 AM

It's an idea, but it won't be applicable to everyone. Some might not be able to afford it, some don't like the environment and even if they do go, there isn't a guarantee they will go home with someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/25 04:54 AM

When I think living wage, I think enough to own a 2 bedroom apartment + COL without having to rely on welfare or other sources of income. Here that's roughly $45k/yr or $22.5/hr full time. Expecting 3+ incomes to afford one apartment is not sustainable and effectively prevents couples from forming. Places like McDonalds can afford to pay low wages because there's always people with few to no options or those that live with parents so they don't need to worry about rent.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/25 04:35 AM

That's part of it yes, it's become harder to connect with people IRL, and if you try connecting online you're competing with potentially millions of other guys, many of which are hotter and richer than you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/25 04:29 AM

Should I care what "league" I belong to? If someone is available and attractive why should I pre-emptively reject them out of fear? Obviously I'm not hitting on women over a decade younger than me (not that it's legal to), but barring situations like that why not go for it?

There was still plenty of cheating in the old days (pre-1970s), but it wasn't as easily documented and accurate paternity tests didn't exist. Some men had secret families and many places didn't share records.

She knows these guys only see her as a potential hookup, I'm just saying women don't need to spend $1000s on plane tickets to have sex with hot men unless they're extremely unattractive. And yes, if she easily gets interest wherever she goes, she is attractive, most men don't care about the opinions of other men when deciding to sleep with someone.

Does your mother get hit on by buff 20 somethings? No one here is buff, the obesity rate is like 50%, there were 30-somethings hitting on her. She would, if she was a passport sis. A) She's very traditional and expects the man to pay for everything and B) She doesn't have any problem finding young hot guys if she looks for them, why would she spend $1000s on a trip to get a worse result?

You think the US is terrible? You must have not lived in the average or poorer areas of these other countries. The Philippines for example has a median income of $12k/yr, Americans make 5x that. If you were living as an average guy in these places with the appropriate income and status, you would not be calling it a paradise. Even the poor in the US have access to nice things. From what I've heard, it's an attractive guy who can easily get women based on looks ALONE without having status, money, a social circle, or anything else typically used to aid in seeking someone. That seems like a contradiction if status and money are considered more desirable? Seems like it wasn't the weed money bringing in people, it was being made to socialize with others instead of sitting behind a desk for 8 hours. That .3% is probably more like 6-12% when looking at a subreddit like this, it's not a sample of the average population, it's a sample that on average has trouble with dating and socialization.

So what exactly is the idea? A looks based version of carfax and automatic rejection if their exes were taller or made more money?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/25 05:04 AM

With dating apps, there's an opportunity cost because the number of swipes are limited so going for a low probability match decreases your chances of finding someone overall. This does not apply to IRL scenarios, hitting on the hot women and losing doesn't cost anything as you can always move on to someone in "your league".

How much of social isolation do you think is caused by smaller families? It used to be the most common way to meet new people, but if there's only 1 per family child there isn't much opportunity for socializing or building networks vs having 3-4 kids which become uncles or aunts later in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/25 01:52 AM

It's hard to get someone to report when they're conditioned by society especially other men to see any sex as a good thing and the idea that women can't be rapists. This doesn't happen if the victims are women.

/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/25 11:51 AM

So you support hookup culture as long as it personally benefits you, even at the expense of other men? Seems similar to people who don't want to fix the system, they just want to be at the ones at the top collecting all the rewards.

No, there's always going to be more attractive people who get an unequal proportion of likes while others have relative lack of success. This has always happened long before online dating, the only difference is the size of the pool. You could mitigate it somewhat by having rules, but not eliminate it entirely. There's some good point about prioritizing non-physical traits and removing the paying for visibility, but I would go a bit farther. For example: Only being able to have and talk to a lim…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/25 12:45 AM

Oh, it's not a mistake to go where you're wanted, the mistake comes with hopping borders and advising everyone to do the same instead of fixing the local culture. Fixing local culture would also help people who can't PPB because they don't have the money and have local family/friends that they can't cut ties with. Lastly, PPB isn't a silver bullet to easy women like many people portray it as because, it comes with it's own set of problems that many people are not equipped to handle.

Going to paraphrase what I wrote above, but it seems like guys are ok with being used for their money if the woman is hot enough, but for some reason pretend to want egalitarianism when it comes to local women. Lots of the same guys complain about being used for their money by "Western women" but when you're a PPB there's a nearly 0 chance that the other person will be in a similar tax bracket and they'll always expect you to provide for them as part of their culture. To me it seems like these guys are ok with being used for money, just not if they don't think they're getting what they deserve out of it even if they have to travel to another country (and increase problems for the locals).

I could vet in terms of the basics like no criminal record, basic hygiene, good finances and not terrible to be around. A good way to somewhat vet for personality is seeing how they treat people they don't see as romantic options. I can't determine if someone is a good option, but I can know for sure if they're a bad one. It's easier to vet someone when you feel no emotional connection to them and there's nothing at stake. That should be a clear cut case of discrimination and men should raise the issue, if there isn't a valid reason to deny it then it should be approved. I find the comments drawing parallels to feminism and women's rights interesting as not all women supported it. There were quite a few women who were against feminism and suffrage because they didn't want the responsibilities or felt that women shouldn't be doing these things. I'm a curious person and I'm interested in what people are saying across a variety of topics. I like to go into places and see what people are actually saying rather than reading what media says. It's better when opposing viewpoints are allowed to talk rather than being banned on sight. I understand that this isn't a sample of average people so I keep it in mind and remember it doesn't reflect the world at large. There are many bad takes, but also many good ones. It's also interesting to read ab…

Sounds like more risk and effort than it's worth, It's hard enough setting up overlapping dates never mind trying to juggle multiple relationships without the others finding out in the days of social media and digital recordkeeping. Why try to leech off a couple guys making 30-40k when 100k guys exist?

Making $100k is still in the top 5-10% when you're young. It also depends on the group you're in, someone making $100k in the middle of nowhere in a small town is at higher risk of being used vs someone in Los Angeles. No woman is looking at average or below average income guys to use their money unless they're desperate or lazy.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/25 06:55 AM

Public people are easy to find, most of you would not find the average person who has 10 followers and no public posts. It's easier to focus on the 1% of women who do sex work over the 99% who don't. You aren't going to find random good people who aren't popular unless they're in your social circle or adjacent to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/25 11:28 PM

How about NO. I'll use it as a way of seeing if they're a worthwhile person to be around, if I have to constantly suppress my own feelings to save theirs, then why should I consider them as a friend or potential wife? I would go as far to say that's a form of abuse that no one should be putting up with because woman. But it's harder to get relationships as a man so they should put up with-- No, just no. Tolerating and reinforcing this behavior is how this mess is here to begin with.

Men should never truly open up women they are in a relationship with. Not just romantic but platonic or familial aswell. I don't really care anymore, I'll open up and if they can't handle it they can scatter. If they want to vent to me, but won't allow me to vent back, they are not friend or wife material. I refuse to allow OTHER people to tell me what emotions I'm allowed to have

Having to do more to get them than other guys did, if applicable. How do you know what these other guys did and if it's still relevant (people's standards change over time). If you don't see evidence of this happening for a specific person, why are you assuming every girl you meet has a super attractive ex that had to merely exist to get sex? Guys want raw attraction, conditional attraction is worthless. Nearly all attraction is conditional, almost no one is going to be with someone that doesn't…

If you don't enjoy socializing then don't socialize, but the rest of the world isn't going to care and other people are going to get relationships instead. In fact not socializing hurts more than just dating, it hurts careers too.

Well you aren't "chad" so you're going to have to put in the work or be alone like the other 95% of guys. Most guys throughout history haven't been models but they got along just fine. Even the attractive ones have to put in some effort at socializing as women aren't going to drive over and date them. No one is going to be your girlfriend out of pity when they could just pick someone else.

Despite what popular media says men can experience emotions too, they're human after all. Men are on average more resistant to emotional manipulation, but not immune as many get stuck in abusive relationships and sunk cost fallacy. It's for intimidation and the threat of possible violence, but not actually using it. I've seen this before, guys are less likely to try something if they see another guy nearby. /r/PurplePillDebate27/07/25 11:58 PM

It also depends on what kind of environment you're in, someone in rural Appalachia is going to have a different experience from someone in NYC, citing experiences without detail doesn't make sense because the US is not a monolith. Someone could struggle in one environment but do well in another and vice versa. That being said I don't see this problem in my neighborhood and I'm in a lower middle class area where I doubt anyone makes over 35k/year and the rent is in the low 1000s.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/25 11:55 PM

I've made that choice several times in the past, it be like that but I've seen the damage that LLMs are doing to society as a whole as well as the social stigma that comes with it. But as long as I got 1 woman to say yes, that's enough for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/25 11:08 PM

But all it takes to counter that is 1+ women deciding to choose them out of millions then other women rejecting them is meaningless.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/25 11:06 PM
5

Those aren't mutually exclusive though, it's possible for most guys to have a relationship while still acknowledging that it's difficult for some of them. Finding the right person is hard and a decent amount of relationships fail all the time, they aren't lying and a good faith effort should be made to hear them out provided there aren't glaring flaws.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/25 11:05 PM

Better than treating LLMs as wives, but it's still a (expensive) substitute for a real relationship and the explicit transactional nature and lack of monogamy will turn people off.

Nah, the women with onlyfans don't want a relationship, they just want the money that lonely (and not so lonely) guys have, they are no more an option than the random creeps sending dick pics or threats.

I am seriously surprised when many women do not understand what men mean when they say that "attractive men are worse than average men" You mean a subset of attractive men are worse than average men, not average men in general. The hot = bad mindset needs to stop as if average or even below average guys are innocent angels just waiting to be given a chance. Certainly the original concept of "looksmaxxing" did not come from a corporation, it most certainly came from some turbo virgin 4chan terminally online wierdo. So "looksmaxxing" is companies finally finding a way to pull the same tactics that they did on women for decades, which is pushing the problem in the form of unrealistic standards then selling them the solution in the form of surgeries, expensive procedures and other gimmicks. If they don't do it for themselves then tell them it will get them dates so they willingly hand over their paychecks to you, it makes sense now. I don't hate tech and media companies enough.

Dating apps aren't fair, but it's still not eugenics because people aren't forced to use them and it's still the individual choosing. I’m not saying that would radically alter their chances with the opposite sex, but to pretend as if there aren’t any large-scale forces at play isn’t completely true either. There are larger forces at play, but none are explicitly deciding who gets kids and who doesn't.

Fighting almost never in middle and upper class society, the "fight for your life" thing is mainly concentrated in poor countries and lower class. A fight should always be avoided if at all possible, but if it comes down to that, there's tools that help even the odds so it's not "strongest guy wins".

For some people that's possible with only a haircut, for others it requires some lifts or plastic surgery, and for some it's impossible in a society without arranged marriage or a lot of money. Many guys aren't going to like what the answer is for them in current society.

Very, very few men say they don't want sex. Almost no man is interested in starting a relationship if it's guaranteed there will be no sex. Therefor it's safe to say that everyone wants sex at some point whether it's immediately or after some time, the goal is to make sure they won't run off afterwards.

It’s bad for society for all of those things to be well compensated. Why not, good compensation powers the economy, creates jobs and allows raising families. The only losers here are the stingy bosses that refuse to pay enough to be competitive. Lives are wasted trying and failing to succeed at those things, to the detriment of their life outcomes, instead of doing something that society actually needs. If someone is paying me good money, I don't care if it's what society "needs" or not. If thos…

From what I've heard a lot, it doesn't matter what they look like or what they're doing, there's always someone hitting on them even when it's obvious they're married. This extends to social media as well, no shortage of guys willing to hit up random women although they never reciprocated because they didn't date internet strangers and were already married. This depends on your age and status. Young people who are still building should be more open to building with a partner. If you're both young then you both don't have much to lose unless you're one of the lucky few with 6 figures + house. But there comes a point where you've made it on your own and built up a high salary (say more than 250k) at a young-enough age but haven't built up a high net worth yet (to the point where their investments make more than their salary). Why are you telling me that the law and my own experiences are lies? The default is primary custody is awarded to the woman, and the man has to move out and find another place to live and she uses the child support alimony payment to continue paying off the house. The reason is women are typically awarded the kids and the house in a divorce. Then why isn't the man fighting for 50/50 custody which is the default? And yes, the factors above contribute to what I mentioned, nearly 2 in 3 people over the age of 75 are women. 60% of homes that are owned by people who are not married, are owned by women. Part of this is explained by women living longer and getting the house in the will, not divorce. That’s a direct result of women being awarded the home in a divorce the majority of the time. In many of those cases, the owner has to buy the other person out of the other half of their house, it's not "divorce = free house". Does this sub have bits that delete comments in a shadow way that makes users think the comment is still posted? This is how all of Reddit works, if a comment is removed by moderators, it doesn't send a notification by default and the comment will still be visible in the thread unless logged out. That being said bots remove comments the instant they're posted if rule breaking, otherwise it's a human doing it.

Don't know if paying minimum payment debt on time gradually lowers score but I feel you wouldn't be getting a new lease anymore when lenders see the debt. Women are sleeping with tons of men. The vast majority of women aren't sleeping around with dozens of men, this myth comes from claiming outliers are the norm. For gay men sure you’re right, but for heterosexual men that isn’t an option. Sexuality doesn’t work that way Because there's no attraction, no one wants to be the subject of unwanted sexual attention. It’s why women are privileged beyond belief. They have it so EASY EASIER maybe, but not EASY, dating is still difficult and most men don't…

It depends on how they respond, I wouldn't list income, but if they act disappointed because they think I don't have a lot of money or a high status job then it's not a good sign. There are men that are happy to provide that lifestyle, but I'm not one of them.

Culture is a stronger factor than looks, I used to live in an area where no one made over $30k/year yet most of them had a gf or wife. No one was notably ugly, but they weren't models either and obesity was a big problem. I wonder if being higher class is making it harder to date?

People do date up when they can if given the opportunity both men and women. "Damn, I shouldn't take my shot or try to date this person because I think they're too pretty for me," says no one ever. Rejection sucks, but never taking a shot is worse. But most encounters are going to be among similar class which means most people will be similar to each other and not super mismatched.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 01:36 AM

Redpill talks about it a lot (AFBB), but it leaks into other parts of social media from time to time. Anyone taking it to heart is liable to shoot themselves in the foot though.

I have a problem when women who hate men get those men's money at the expense of women who don't, because it puts everyone in a system that artificially incentivizes hating men. Yeah it sucks, but that's the way tax law and welfare works, you (royal) generally benefit more the less you put in and hating people that you indirectly take money from doesn't disqualify you from receiving benefits. They do though, even more so than men. Most people don't want to be responsible for someone else's kid and the kid will always come first in the relationship, But single fathers are a lot rarer on the dating market and most women have enough options to easily exclude single fathers even if they are a single mother themselves.

Incels are mad because they aren't getting picked, but instead of improving themselves or making suggestions to improve society without severely impacting others, they instead want to legalize some form of forced sex or "punish" women who are having sex with people besides them. People making more money tend to pay higher tax rates, but this isn't gender discrimination and if they feel like they get taxed too much they can choose to work a lower paying job like fry cook instead of maximizing their opportunities. Going for IRL over apps does put you ahead since you aren't directly competing with several thousand other dudes but I have some questions. Are you approaching complete strangers or someone that you know something about beforehand like work? I'm also curious about the success rate as cold approaches are notorious for being very low. A woman has the option to get an abortion, but the man can't force her. What's he supposed to do? Don't sleep with women unprotected if you don't want to risk children. So it's still clearly an issue that's getting better when you look in one direction, but worse when you look in another. So it's still very much an issue I'd argue it's better overall now than it was in 1974.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/25 07:10 PM

More like blaming both. Also, it's hard not to stay when the child is literally inside you. Adoption or abortion was always an option at least until recently. Compare 1974 to 2023, and the number of black children who live in two-parent homes is down 14% The number of teen parents is down 85% and overall fertility rates are down by 40% so there's still fewer single parents.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/25 07:05 PM

I come from a family where single parenthood is common, most women didn't deliberately choose this so I have 0 interest in defending the deadbeats over the parent that stayed. We know. Thats why guys dont walk up to women anymore cause. To ask out. To show interest. Cause women demonize it. Doesn't matter to some guys, they will approach anyone regardless of how they feel. But women also complain when they have to do any work in making advance. Showing interest. To have them be the ones that have to get rejected. Then they didn't actually like the guy or they would be much more direct.

It's so easy to not get pregnant and still have sex. As long as you're responsible, it is extremely straightforward. People make mistakes, people change, don't assume that what happened in previous relationships will be allowed in the current one or that you're lesser because of it, if you really think that way then leave. Am I in the wrong for telling him or is he insecure? He told me if I lie to him he will break up with me so I whenever he asks me personal questions I feel pressured to tell him everything. Yeah I wouldn't tolerate this guy any longer, there would be a swift breakup.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/25 10:58 PM

Or maybe it's because the woman had revenge porn shared of them and they don't want it to happen again? Or are people not allowed to make mistakes and learn lessons? I haven't seen this given as advice in my circles, but it will work if the guy is desperate enough for sex or doesn't think about the potential consequences, there's enough on Tinder for it to work. That being said, I personally wouldn't go for it because getting caught in the crossfire is not worth whatever I might get out of it and I like not being in pieces.

That should be a question for the police department, not dating apps. There's ways of escaping bad situations without potentially putting an unprepared 3rd party at risk.

Part of the problem is that "women do" covers up a lot. It's good to attach percentages to those numbers, because while I'm sure it's possible to find at least one women who does X, it gives a different story if it's .09%, 9% or 90%. If you can meet women in more general social situations, you can get to know each other without the hefty price tag. If you have to compete with 1000s of other men, many of which have more money AND better looks than you, it probably isn't going to work without spen…

Some do and some won't regardless of how hot the stranger is, it depends on the environment and the individual woman. Some try it but realize they don't like it, don't do it anymore and raise their standards. Or they get better at vetting and spotting red flags. Some guys are mad that they no longer get the chance at easy sex, but that doesn't change anything. The idea that 30+ percent of women will have casual sex with strangers if they're hot enough is not only logistically impossible, but not…

Yeah, i opened a google, and looked for how many women in US (169.6mil), and how many men (166.1mil) which means that it's already evened out +-. That skew is caused by women living longer, but most of them aren't in dating range so it doesn't help, a 50+ year old woman is not going to be considered for dating when children are desired. Take a look at a population pyramid, it starts out with more men, but they die more often so it leads to a switch in the 50s, but below that men outnumber women.

Are boys a better income source? Young men are living in the basement, unemployed, playing video games. Women are earning more every year, and I predict they will eventually outearn men. Recently women only outearn men while they're young, but this changes as they age and childbirth happens. In most cultures it's still seen as the guy having to be the provider while the woman is expected to look pretty and take care of children + household. That's because men and women don't see casual sex the same way most of the time. A guy getting free/easy sex without a relationship is seen as a win for most guys, a women is seen as the opposite and even shunned by other guys. Many guys are willing to have sex with someone but won't invest in them, of course most of the time they don't say this upfront otherwise the woman leaves.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/25 01:00 AM

The difference between the old times and hookers is hookers can choose to not fuck someone even for money. Try that in old times and you'd get beaten, institutionalized, or worse. Some guys are unable to attract women without money, the difference now is women are able to opt out of those guys that they are no longer forced to be with.

Consent does have a price, but it's not always monetary. If more women are also single it does not matter, they can pick up a phone and secure a date by the end of the week, they just don't want to. If women don't want to bother with dating, then what are you supposed to do? Every women that opts out of dating has a man on the other end that will never find anyone. People know that being fat is unheal…

That is the single greatest takedown of that survey I've ever seen, I will save this for every time someone brings it up.

While it's true in general, how does it explain everyday people? Where it loses me when it contradicts my IRL experience and terrible solutions. It's mathematically impossible for them all to be extremely attractive, rich, or tall, yet most people are/have been together at some point. Or someone doesn't have typical preferences and they get called not feminine/masculine enough for daring to not be a monolith.

You can disagree with someone without pointing out you own (lack of) success, this is why statistics exist.

Maybe they didn't want to lose friends or think they might still have a chance with those women?

IRL groups have the advantage of familiarity and some vetting. a person on an app is always a complete stranger. There are good men/women on apps, but you have to filter through all the bad ones which burns people out because dating was never intended to be this way. In fact dating apps themselves used to be a form of self selection before they were all bought out by 1 company and turned into the same model of squeezing men for all of their money.

And despite what people say here, ugly people aren't exactly keen on fucking eachother. Your premise is wrong if you overlap the fertility rate map of the US with the obesity rate map, in fact it's positively correlated.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:20 PM

Ah, glorified prostitution, not surprising given the background.

Every time someone occupies a job, that job is no longer available for other workers, period. Other people not having a job isn't my problem. They can apply for a different one or secure skills to get better access, I'm not obligated to give up my job just because someone needs one. If people need health benefits then they should vote for someone who passes universal healthcare so they don't need a great job to get decent healthcare, still not my problem. Workers shouldn’t be secure enough to of…

Even if they are a good person, what happens if they get hit by a car and they don't have life insurance? It's the same outcome.

It's a computerized game, where the prize is sexual access to a stranger. The only people who play, are those who cannot get their needs met in other traditional ways. It's kind of like gambling, but instead of spending just money; men spend their self worth and women spend their safety. Like all gambling, the house wins by tricking you to play longer. This is why current profit driven apps can never be a solution long term, they are incentivized to maximize profits by stringing men along and ma…

Agree, social skills and friends are a requirement if you aren't attractive enough to pull with looks alone which is the vast majority of people. It's also a form of built in matchmaker that can hook you up with people that might not be meetable other ways such as apps. Unfortunately technology and social media seem to be a poor replacement and convinced everyone that they need to be impossibly perfect to attract anyone.

Almost like there's men that want relationships over easy sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/25 07:34 PM

Exceptions do not disprove the general rule. It only helps if a majority of women don't care about money/status but that's obviously not true.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/25 05:14 PM

Men don't get rewarded the same for looking good as women Wrong, better looking people do better in job interviews and are more likely to get promotions. It's also important to have a nice presentation for customers so people don't think you look like a bum. Most guys around these parts dress terribly or are overweight so it's not hard tbh.

The middle ground is a good 80% of the population, the vast majority of people can't even afford to spend that much on a woman yet still have relationships.

So? THe fandom of any boy band is, itself, only a small percentage of the population. But because the population is enormous, it translates to millions of adoring women. What point are you debating here? My point is the McDonald's cashier is not going to have anywhere near the same reach as musicians even if they're hot, it's the status at play here. Their pool is going to be smaller and the number of percentage of people who are interested will be smaller still. Most people date within their so…

That's because it doesn't usually happen despite what guys here say. Women are not itching to date bums even if they are hot because they have the option of dating someone who isn't broke.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/25 09:03 PM

Good thing this isn't in the US, I know some insurance companies and hospitals would be itching to jack rates for "risky" people. This WILL be abused, the only question is when?

Most people understand that consent doesn't have to involved notarized documents and recordings, but also understand that "no means no." There's many unwritten rules that have to be followed and people without social skills struggle with it. Constantly asking for consent can be off putting to some and can even result in the opposite effect.

And I've seen the opposite, guys getting dumped because they don't have a car, can't make rent, etc. There's a LOT more poor people than there are millionaires, it's possible to get big numbers when a quarter of the population can't make $30k. Being hot and broke mainly attracts other people from the same class where money and class matters less.

Agreed. I should've prefaced by saying it depends on class/culture. Can't date an upper middle class white woman if you're a broke black guy.....usually. It determines what your dating pool is, people are more likely to date someone who's familiar to them vs someone from a different culture even if they have a looks/money advantage. And if they weren't, then they were probably banging single mothers and/or fat women. I've seen it too many times. Yep, the whole place was a mess, but that's the ho…
