Of course he said that. He knows how to project and twist. He also texted that he wanted to kill her and begged her on tape to knife him. He's an abusive creep. I don't know much about her but have no respect for a guy who has gone on TV and admitted he has assaulted people trying to sue her for defamation of whatever instead of going to therapy. He's turning it into a soap opera and it's a sample case that shows how much more empathy have for men than women.

The natural rhythm aspect is important...a whole other way of being and I love that about being and living alone, too.

Yep. Woke men can be extra bad for us because they believe themselves to be virtuous...or they know how to pretend they are. Either way, don't trust them until you see evidence of respectful behavior towards women. Ongoing evidence.

My ex husband gave me consistently bad advice when it came to career moves. Not on purpose, but because he just isn't great in that area. I learned to not listen to him about career options, then not to consult him. Maybe the 2 colleagues have partners who are good at career advice or maybe it's just that old grooming to validate thru a man at work. Either way, you did your colleagues a favour and good on ya.

I was working with a woman today whose request was reasonable, and for the thing I am paid to do. She apologized probably 6 times in 3 phone calls. I felt for her. I said "no apologies!" With cheer but she couldn't stop. All the women I work with -- including leaders, CAO, etc -- apologize reflexively, including me at times. Of course the men do not. Sometimes at work female socialization whirls up a sort of echo chamber where the women keep reflecting and amplifying both niceties and not-so-nic…

Yes! Boundaries should prompt respect. Intimacy can only build over time within a respectful relationship container. Intimacy is not based on confessions, particularly when traded at the beginning of a potential relationship.

Yep... the enlightened ones are most manipulative...that is, the ones who portray themselves as such to manipulate you. If truly wise they would be able to hear your words of wisdom in return. It's them trying to condition you to think they are like the nice things they send. And yes, I think it's subtle negging, the assumption being that THEY are schooling YOU in the higher values of life. Woke bros are the worst in some ways.

Brilliant! 💐💐💐💐 👍👍👍👍 'For extra flair, laugh at the end of your response if they were trying to disguise their neg as a joke." 😆 "Negs and unwarranted, underhanded advice are very intentional, are meant to put you up against a wall, and are meant to make you work to defend and prove yourself." Yes...this is the crux and can be the hardest to grasp for those of us who are not like that. We don't go around trying to put others up against the wall because we don't get our jollies or derive our este…

Excellent advice. And their stories? If they manage to package themselves as both victim and hero, they are trying to play you. It can be subtle, but if it's there it's somehow in almost every story. All about "the portrayals" as you describe it, which is an excellent term.

So a truly ugly dude uses a couple of mediocre radio hits to snag a supermodel. Turns out, he's a narc and spends the rest of his life trying to make her feel ugly, too. Tale as old as time...

He flips things around...projection. there is a greater chance his whole premise is more true of men than women. You are right in that he doesn't understand our psyche. I wish he did, cos he gets lots of attention and his popularization of cognitive behavioral type stuff can be helpful.

Yes, I have experienced this. They will mount intensive campaigns to convey they want a real relationship, too. Then the bread crumbing starts. It's a con, and it's on purpose.

"Simon exploited the very best qualities of these women; their compassion, loyalty and prioritizing his safety over their financial security. Anyone who judges someone falling prey to this is the perfect target because their arrogance leaves the blind spots these scammers capitalize on." Yes!

Yeah! The reality is women's shelters are full of victims of male violence...bit apparently it's women "scorned" that hell hath no fury like.... projection is coded into our culture all over the place. Glad we wising up.

Awesome post...it's true that society lies and tries to wedge us apart but come on, think about the instances in our lives when someone showed us empathy from a purely helpful place and it's more often women than men. Even nice men tend to lack the interest in being helpful in so many ways, as if it doesn't even occur to them.

What a hostile thing to do to her. I am so glad she is leaving him. Aggression like that is so hurtful, scary and an attempt at soul-killing. He's an abuser and not her friend or lover. Yech!

One user I met on OLD came in for a hug on our first date. Which was a walk. Damn, I am grateful for FDS. The overall dating narrative has become so tilted in favour of pushy creeps it can be difficult to even recognize these points of coercion and disrespect. OLD, walk dates, early touch, going Dutch...these are all things established to increase convenience for men.

That so many people call footage of real women being injured, tortured and murdered "harmless" is heartbreaking.

The enmeshment is real. I've noticed over the years that oftentimes mothers of sons are more indulgent with them than they are of daughters. "Can you believe it? My 12 year old son was sent sexts by a girl two years younger! She sought him out! It's happened with more than one girl! I must protect his innocence by giving him and his friends all the monster drinks and unsupervised gaming time and pizza pockets they want. THeY are GoOD KidZ."

Alcoholic, hated having kids, suicide at age 55 when I was 9. My mom had to start with nothing, plus a broken heart, at 50. She worked very hard to support us. But he ruined her life almost.
