Ya man I've heard that. I think it depends on the individual. When I walk around and try to keep a serious demeanor I come off as a psychopath and people want nothing to do with me. I definitely wouldn't classify myself as a smiling goofball now. I still demand respect and know when to tone it down if that's what the mood calls for. If you can pull off the mysterious introvert vibe without lookin creepy then do it up. I can't.

Occasionaly get approached by a girl but the majority of the times I approach them. I should also mention that about 30 days before this all happened I started NoFap. I don't experience the superpowers that they mention over in that subreddit, but it definitely gave me the motivation/energy I needed to even bother chasing girls. Had I not begun that I imagine I'd still be playing Dota2 8 hours a day.

Consciously, I did nothing else. Smiling without a doubt though changed my personality subconsciously. It was like I broke out of this self inflicted prison I had locked myself up in for so long. Yea bro I hear you. I grew up in a similar situation and trying to have that tough guy exterior was my defense mechanism. Life is a hell of lot better when you tear that shit off and realize that being vulnerable and smiling aren't indications of weakness.
