Men will continuously defend themselves for being pedophiles. It is not normal to view young girls STILL in puberty as "sexually attractive". They will argue up and down about how some country has XYZ age of consent and it's bIoLoGy. Anyone who thinks it's acceptable when a 70 year old marries an 18 year old isn't society: it's other men. I am afraid to raise a daughter in this world.

I had a friend “warn” me about one of her friends I was meeting for the first time. She said she is hyper catty and jealous and that she hates girls who are too pretty, so she said not to wear makeup. I was like “uh first of all, I’m pretty without makeup anyway and I don’t think I want to be around someone so insecure anyways…” I dropped both friends promptly. Who needs that sort of shit in their lives?

I gave up spending $$$ on makeup and focused solely on skincare. I feel so much more pampered and have much more fun using different face masks and having a solid routine. I used to spend around a 100$ a month on unnecessary makeup products, but now spend maybe 20$ every other month restocking a product. Plus the amount of animal cruelty in the makeup industry is rampant.

I’d just like to say THANK YOU for instilling that these tactics are toxic and how to recognize them. I wish my mom did this when I was younger! “I was just joking!” —-> “How is it a joke?” “You’re being emotional”—-> “My emotional response is perfectly reasonable given your behavior” These are my favorite rebuttals against these comments!

I can’t get over the fact that John Smith bragged about killing hundreds of Native Americans and then the Wise Willow tree was like “Oh this one has a good soul”. What the fuck lol.

I *barely* got out of that lifestyle unscathed. I wasted so much time trying to "fit in" by having a toxic relationship and be "cool" that I closed so many doors on my future. I'm 21 years old now and just getting into University because I had no other choice than the Community College (which i almost flunked out of before getting my shit together) before even having a chance of getting accepted into University. I am now attending my dream University in the Fall after so much unnecessary headach…

The whole subgroup of women on social media that glorify sex work/escorting to be flying on private jets to exotic places every weekend while wearing Chanel head to toe create such a false narrative. Most escorts are beaten. Abused. Drugged or drug addicts. Have traumatic childhoods or experience trauma due to prostitution. Raped and coerced into doing acts they don’t consent too. Are sex trafficked victims or victims of child sexual abuse. Murdered. Stalked. Harassed. Disowned by family or frie…

Right? It’s seen as “sex negative” to even discuss the issues we see here about the treatment of women because they will say it’s only a small amount of “clients” who treat sex workers like that when it’s obviously not the case. Sadly more and more libfems and men are pushing for the legalization of sex work since it will be “safer”. It will not be and will just make women more readily available to be at the hands of these abusers.

This is incredibly disgusting. I honestly have no words. It just keeps getting worse and worse the more you read. I started crying when I saw the victims who were “glass eyed, drugged up and anorexic”. The men abusers didn’t care and only docked them “points”. The day sex work is legalized will be a very sad day for women.

Just if any lurking woman or pickme here suspects her boyfriend would never follow any lewd account or OnlyFans girl, there is a way to see what links he has looked at followed his instagram profile.

If this was about a man with a dog (or any pet really) people would be screaming abuse and controlling behavior. Can you imagine when her pet eventually passes while she is grieving? I can just imagine him saying “it’s just a cat” or “you aren’t over it already?”.

My ex would pester me constantly but switched tactics when he saw it wouldn’t work. Instead, he would completely ignore me and withhold affection to make me feel bad. I have a high libido, but I just don’t like doing any sexual activity during my periods (including oral) since I get very depressed when menstruating.

Spread the gospel! But seriously, I invite almost every woman in shitty relationships to this subreddit. From the woman who is in a situationhip with a man who thinks it’s “gay” to go on picnics to the woman whose husband is having multiple affairs. I’ve had so many fellow women message me back being incredibly grateful to have a community with a voice of reason.

Honestly I don’t see the big deal of refusing the calls. If you see him calling, simply ignore it and say that bedtime is soon and there are no calls allowed. Or if it’s because he’s calling it on the kids tablets I’d just block the number and explain it’s family time right now, or that you are trying to get them to spend less time on their tablet. Also, what an asshole for having a party during a pandemic.

It reminds me of that post on here a while back that said men who work closely with vulnerable women (usually those who have been victims of rape, domestic violence, or abuse) use it to scope out their next targets or victims. Sickening.

I feel like the fact that people aren’t even willing to have a conversation about the negative affects of pornography is incredibly disturbing. I don’t even know what the positive affects of porn is, if any. I see people argue stress relief but that’s a huge stretch. You can easily ride a bike, take a hot shower, read a book. I have only ever seen it negatively affect people (from the sex trafficking victims to the porn sick men) and relationships. Reddit loves to claim to be lOgiCaL and but shu…

You have to have all the kinks and fetishes that ONLY align with male pleasure. Having “vanilla sex” doesn’t make his peepee hard anymore because he is spending hours in front of a screen jacking off to depraved/unethical/illegal porn.

Right?? My shithead Uncle did this to my Aunt and he eats TRIPLE what she eats. She resorted to hiding her favorite snacks in the house because he would polish off all the groceries, snacks and then make his ways to her snacks and speciality diet items (she was lactose she had specific groceries for herself). It was awful. She said it was like living with an overgrown teenage boy.

Do you ever notice men still hold the majority of power in female-centric fields as well? Anything beauty, fashion, skincare or makeup men are CEOS or top influencers. They are usually incredibly misogynistic and hold such a superiority complex. They are the biggest gatekeepers (this is including queer men). Men in makeup are seen as artists. Women are just vain. Men cooking are master chefs. Women are just cooks. Men in fashion are seen as revolutionaries and icons. Women are just shallow.

It’s really common for those bachelors to have a “pretend” family at home to save face as well. If they are a family man they have much higher potential for promotions, bonuses and raises. Yet if women are moms or expecting it significantly holds back their career lmao. One guy in my office I was an intern at made elaborate stories about his wife and 2 kids, which never even existed. It spread around the office like wildfire that he was a 34 year old bachelor sharing a sort of frat house apartme…

My NVM ex had a facade he wore the entire first year of our relationship. He took me on an all expense paid trip 8 months in, to love bomb the fuck out of me and get me hooked. 4 months later I caught him cheating, in tons of lies and all while he was being extremely mentally abusive. DO. NOT. TRUST. Always vet for at least a year.

Seriously!! Once you realize your worth and you become okay being single and by yourself, you have a whole new level of power and men feel 100% threatened by it. I walk at the first sign of a LVM, no matter if it’s been 5 months or 5 years.

Not my story, but my mom divorced my NVM father after being in an unhappy 20+ year marriage. She was the breadwinner, raised my siblings and I while he hardly interacted with us and worked at his “business” that just barley covered groceries and utilities. She divorced him when I was 16, and now that I just graduated college I’ve never seen her more happy or radiant than ever. Exactly!! When I go out in a full face and nice outfit, I get better customer service, more attention, people will come up and talk to me/smile, and men will flock to me. Hey don’t feel like the bad guy. A solution could be to set a time limit for how long both of you talk about work, maybe give each of you 30 min to talk about work and then you both move to an activity together and just enjoy each other’s company. Or ask him to play a board game and encourage him to play while he’s talking.

I’m a recovering codependent (/r/codependency is great!) and CBT therapy has been an absolute game changer (as well as the book “Codependent No More”). A book I recommend is “Men are from Mars Women are from Venus”, gave me a lot of just general information on communication differences (although can be a bit stereotype-ish, I found most of it to be true!).

You can still look effortless, natural while still smelling good and looking good! I have a very extensive bathing routine (exfoliating, shaving/waxing, body butters/lotions, face masks, at home mani/pedi, hair mask, lip exfoliation + lip balm for soft lips, teeth whiteners and a great smelling perfume) on days where a guy wants to just have a night in bed if we are both exhausted from work. I’ll also wear cute, feminine lounge wear and bake some small cookies or bring a snack. Works wonders!

I am around your age and struggle with the same thing! One of the biggest things that made a difference has been (for me) believing I am charismatic. I have a list of positive affirmations I tell myself everyday (I am funny, I am positive, I am intelligent, I am pleasant to be around, etc) and repeat it probably 10-20 times a day. It definitely works! I’d also work on being more polite and developing some interesting hobbies. Another tip is that people LOVE to talk about themselves, and be helpf…

Journal nightly for at least 5 min. Journaling has become a great way for me to reflect and become present, but staying consistent with it has been difficult! Setting an alarm on my phone and trying to make it a habit is a start. Tidy Nightly for 10 min. I’ve been slacking on keeping things tidy/organized and it’s definitely starting to reflect in my home. Do one self love act this month. Not sure what I’m going to do yet, but I’m hoping to maybe get eyelash extensions or a new haircut!

I totally understand how you feel. I was in your position about a year ago, and using therapy, RPW, diet/workouts, and new hobbies I've completely changed my life around. It's hard and your going to crave the attention/validation from others (we are human), but keep pushing and dedicate at least 6 months to a year dating yourself.
