^ This. They can have a predisposition to run up their own bills, and not listen to the advice they retain and pay for, cuz law school. Is your STBXW a family lawyer? You don’t specify a field of specialization? A great tobacco litigator probably isn’t going to know the county judges, where they golf, and who views men / how and what the judge is generally sympathetic to. IME all family law is like politics-totally local. Don’t give up all hope.

Dude, you brought up the prenup, right? That’s a box you opened. Listen to your gut, but why would you bring this up, and what’s your vision for the future (do you see her as stay at home? You don’t say). Obviously, you all can’t talk about this, right? That tells you enough. Her working through this with you or thinking out loud doesn’t make her a gold digger anymore than you a simp. You provide no information, and it doesn’t sound like you got legal advice. Yet you brought up a prenup. Probabl…

Here’s a question: Why is divorce so expensive, asked one attorney to the other….? Because it’s worth it, is the obvious answer. You’ll have bad days and bad feelings, but it’s worth it to take on YOUR life and your new world. And you WILL conquer it, if only by rising to greet each new day. It doesn’t matter how many time you get knocked down, but how many you get back up… Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face… Words to remember…

Wow, so you catfished your STBXW, which whom you live to get her side of a story. Is the intent to use this in court (GLWT)? Speaking as a dad here-50/50 might be a very lucky proposition for you. Courts lean towards mothers as a default in much of the country. Focus on doing nothing, I mean, nothing, wrong. It’s tough (and about impossible; I know). This will maximize any sympathy from the judge, should things get to trial. And fire lawyers if they don’t have your six; I only had two and have <…

This will be the best thing that happened to you. It just doesn’t appear so now. I settled with my ex, taking a hit in the market and betting on the value of my own appreciating and growing business. In exchange for < 50-50 custody of my son. If there were one thing I would pay anything more, it’s more time with my so n.

Hang in there, homie. I get it. You have to hang in there. Don’t fuck up your kids anymore than they will become so as tweens-teens. You got this.

“How would I feel if my dad acted like (XYZ)?” Easiest question to answer, next to, “What’s the right thing to do?” I like the quote from Napoleon about not interrupting an adversary who is making a mistake. Be there for your son. Do everything you can to show him what the type of man is that you want him to be. Nobody said it is easy. I’m 8 months into this journey myself, but already: My ex would lock him in his room(!) at night once he started walking (“for his own good”). Dad (me) leaves his…

You’re getting punked. Lawyer up and put the garbage out by the curb. She doesn’t love you if she’s treating you this way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
