I used to do this. It wouldn't go well. Now I can't even explain how I think of them. In my mind they are equal, but also complicated play toys to play mind games with in conversation. It seems to go well.

Same problem. I just don't know how to keep a conversation through text. It's even worse now that my generation had moved small talk to snap chat. Now I'm limited by a small character limit also.
