If they seemed rude to you and you just didn't want to deal with the bullshit then good for you for just walking away. However if you walked away because you thought you didn't have a chance than I would tell you that you could have become attractive to her. Im asian, and I have dated several women who "didn't date asian guys" or more accurately hadn't dated an asian guy. It's like ice cream. Sure I prefer coffee flavored ice cream, but if it's not available it doesn't mean Im not gonna get ice …

Yeah. I over simplified it a little. I agree with you. There's a similar relationship between attractiveness and perceived trustworthiness, but Im sure this effect results in very different behavior between men and women. It could be the strength of the relationship between attractiveness and trustworthiness is stronger for men perceiving women, or it could be that men and women react differently when they trust someone. Perhaps men are more inclined to take financial risks, while women are more…

To be fair I've read studies demonstrating the same effect on women by men. People in general perceive attractive people to be more trustworthy.

Yeah this was how I started too. It didn't really work at first for me thought. This was because I told my self that it didn't count as an approach. Because of this I wasn't mentally filing it under "approach" in my catalogue of life experiences I didn't really get to reap the benefit of having reference experiences for doing approaches. The turning point came when I first approached a girl I was actually attracted to. At that point I was able to bring the two different categories of activity (a…

I think that can definitely come across as attractive but it can also make you intimidating. In James Bond movies girls will approach him and buy him a drink or something, but this probably won't happen in real life. Remember, the Bond girls who do this are usually also spies. Regular non-spy girls will probably see you as attractive, but see the approaching you as to big a risk to their good time. Think about your nights out. Say you see a girl who's really hot, but looks kind of bitchy and doe…

I agree. The main point (which I guess was not explicit enough) was the part about expecting the unexpected. I've felt I can really relate to the idea of how close anxiety and humor are. It's really useful to be able to turn a tense or awkward situation into humor :)

Yeah main take away was not the part about taking tylenol.

Yeah the tylenol part was more of an into thing to the main idea, which is that if you accept the inherent unpredictability of any social interaction, then anxiety becomes absurdity. There actually is a study or two where they tested people's emotional response to stressful stimuli while taking tylenol. But yeah tylenol will fuck up you liver if you take a lot of it. I just find the neuroscience stuff interesting.

Yeah the tylenol part is mostly just an interesting fact. The main take away from this was the neuropsych stuff about how if you expect things to be unpredictable (i.e. don't get attached to an outcome), then things that would seem anxiety provoking actually turn into amusement.

I think a good analogy is a woman taking advice from a man on how to dress and do her makeup. Sure we may think we have an idea of what we like, but much of this is often very vague or socially conditioned things that we have not really though very hard about. I could say that I prefer women who have a natural look and don't wear much make up, but unbeknownst to me they may just be doing their makeup in such a way that it looks natural. I could think that I would respond more to a girl who shows…

I think it's misleading to say that "Most women know whether they would sleep with you within the first 30 seconds of meeting you". In the first 30 sec all she's gonna really do is either put you in the "no" category or a "Possibly" category. This is probably what you meant, but I just wanted to clarify cause some people could get confused.

Unlike bears or rabbits we have volitional control over our attention. The important quality isn't having a low AR, it's just being able to control your attention and direct it as needed. It's one of the most important skills you can cultivate in life.

Dude! I totally agree. In a small college, most game stuff simply doesn't work. There's just this kind of weird dynamic where the girls are less open to meeting a stranger. It's almost like having proximity to long and not approaching. In a small school you probably see most of the people at your school each day so the longer you wait into the year, the more awkward it is to approach. She expects that if your cool, you to would have met before, so if you randomly approach (especially directly) a…

Haha I would chose to have infinite confidence over game any day.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
