I'm not sure they were hamstering so much as trying to help out a person in need. I mean, gender aside, it isn't unusual for people to help strangers with money for food or a ride.

But if he DIDN'T have those things, would the behavior stand alone? I seriously doubt it. This is the point I'm trying to make. Attitude isn't everything. It just isn't. MAYBE it works on younger girls but once you get into your mid 20's, women are only after one thing, and they prefer to call it "security" so they don't feel like gold-digging whores.

Also, back then I was 20 and 'rich', I mean, I had nice job, car, lived alone, etc. I was wealthier, older, taller than her Umm...why do I get the feeling that if you drove a hoopdie and worked at subway things wouldn't have worked out quite the way they did.

You're dead on right, man. Hell, my last serious girlfriend was like that. She was a solid 5, maybe a 6 for her pretty face and big tatas, and had two kids whose father was not around. Shitty job, lived with her parents, super bi-polar, and she constantly acted like she was too good for me. Of course there were other guys hitting on her at the time so she perceived her own worth as far greater than it truly was.
