I don't see the pain as the central argument against it (it's certainly a major part), my main problem is mutilating someone's body against their will. I think most of the people defending the practice are men that were circumcised against there will and get defensive because they think we're attacking them personally. I certainly consider forcibly removing a part of someones genitals sexual assault. Is it "as bad" as rape? I don't know, but is that important? I didn't realize "as bad as rape" was considered a litmus test of whether something matters or not. Using his logic, molestation isn't as bad as rape so it shouldn't be taken seriously. I'm assuming most people defending it would feel very violated if someone were to forcibly remove part of their genitals. 9	What are your thoughts on the engagement ring tradition? Nothing says "I love you" like an overpriced price-controlled rock picked out of the ground by African slave children. I can't really tell you what you should do in your situation but I personally will never buy a diamond engagement ring. 0	Is 'women and children' first a real rule? I guess I understand the reasoning but it just seems silly to think in terms of years of human life when deciding who lives and who dies. What if one the adults were a famous scientist on the verge of curing some major disease? 9	Is 'women and children' first a real rule? Then in my opinion those parents are more than free to give up their spot on the lifeboat for their kids. It's awfully presumptuous to assume I'm willing to make the same sacrifice for someone else's kids.
