Any recommendations for calorie tracker apps?

Thanks, man. The lawyer consensus around here seems step one. On board already with a pretty rigorous health plan. I have to know I am at my best in order to remove all doubt that I am the issue.

Thanks man, she's not a drinker though. I'd have to invent some other way

Ah, very good tip with the nasty female divorce lawyer. I think this is a good start. And yes, I would characterize it as a emotional abuse. She's very smart and manipulative and I can't keep up with her. I just shut up and take it these days and try not show emotion or react aggressively. My daughter is bearing witness to our fights and I believe it's affecting her as well (she's two)

Nobody's perfect. If wife were to accept that fact about me, it might work out.

I relate with your sticking to commitments. I always think of the Matt Damon line from The Departed, where his marriage is on the rocks, and he says something like, "if there's something wrong, it's you that's gotta get out because I'm Irish, I'll live with it for the rest of my life." But as much as I love the line, I'm over it. I'm glad to hear it's working for you now. Thank you for sharing.

Can I ask you at what point did you throw in the towel? I'm almost 8 years deep and for the longest time I was simply optimistic that it would get better. I'm older now and finally come to understand it won't. I've given myself a several month timeline to make sure my head is clear about it and I have a deadline around March to pull the trigger. How is fatherhood after the fact? Did your ex ever threaten to take your child/children and move far away?

I don't have enough money to be too concerned about the financial loss, however there is a child that I love very much which has kept me going through the hell. I want to read about the stories of guys who have done it right, with or without (if possible) attorney.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
