Old school Wonder Woman, yes. Newest DC WW is definitely forced feminism and DC could only deliver mediocre on the first of her movies. 84 was awful. Alita Battle Angel is a hell yeah for sure!

Ill agree with you there. It is a fun nostalgic late 90s/early 00s film. It wasn't this ages woke forced feminism. It was just really corny.

The Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore ones? Those were also pretty terrible. I haven't seen the old school Charlies Angels from the 70s/80s?

Badass movies with badass female characters that isn't forced feminism. Alien and its franchise. Atomic Blonde. Aeon Flux (Not great, but the characters were awesome and well developed) Kill Bill 1 and 2 Silence of the Lambs Fargo Jackie Brown Serenity/Firefly series Live Die Repeat. Just a few off the top of my head.

I thought Birds of Prey was just a day in the life of how quirky and funny Harley Quinn is in her chaotic life movie. Then the last quarter of the movie ham fisted in some uninteresting, undeveloped characters into the fold to fight a villain I didn't care about at the end.

There is always the comedic female protagonist kicking a male antagonist in the balls as well in these movies, followed by a smug smirk from the protagonist. Nothing wrong with it if it fits whats going on. But the message is always a forced/thinly veiled "I am woman, here me roar" type thing.

She has a niche, action comedy is not that. Same with the female Ghost Busters. I liked the cast for the most part. The movie was just terrible, bad writing, bad directing, poor chemistry and lastly the characters were boring and most just played off their SNL personalities or type cast from other movies. Not sexist. Charlies Angels and Ghost Busters female reboot were just objectively terrible.

More than that. She is setting herself up to be completely unemployable. Gender studies can be cool. I took a class as a filler one semester and found it pretty insightful. But I found the information to be more self reflective and used introspectively. Vivian on the other hand is going to think she has to weaponize it and call BS every time she doesn't get what she wants.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
