Dude. Have some tact, man. You're embarrassing the community.

This article has so many contradictions and lies that I find it hard to believe that the author ever graduated from any institution. That hetrosexual males chase after females is not new. What is new is that when mixed with masculinity, the same sexual behaviour becomes abnormal, harmful and often lethal... But... wasn't masculinity a part of the heterosexual males chasing after females even back then? What exactly is new about masculinity? Was it not present before? What this means is that whil…

I'm sorry bro. Working at a place like that sucks. Could you give some of the stories? not doubting, I just want to know more about it. Thanks :)

It's like trapping men with a babies, only now they're trapping companies with sexual harassment. And then the world wonder's why we think women are more duplicitous.

That, I think, is the most infuriating bit about feminism. That glaring contradiction. "We are strong and independent, but we need men's support!"

It's already happening. the number of managers uncomfortable with working with women is almost 50%, according to the study quoted in the article. It pisses me off to no end when women try to turn every professional setting into a sharing and caring circle jerk. They do not understand that we are not at the office to gain mutual benefits. I'm there to work, and get the promotion and the money and the power. I have no time to listen to how she feels microagressed by the bloody air conditioning. Or…

I know, right. I had to step out of the mentorship program at my work because of this bullshit. Had one of my previous mentees(?) raise a fuss. went to HR saying I was looking at her sexually during our one-on-one progress meetings. Never felt so betrayed in my life. Funny thing is, once I stopped mentoring her, her performance took a nosedive and she was let go a few months later. Then a few months after than, I found this sub.

You’re scared of being accused of something unfairly. Unsure how to act, maybe you’re shying away from women at work—avoiding one-on-one meetings, canceling working lunches Yes, I'm scared of being accused unfairly. So I will shy away from one-on-one meetings. A forthcoming survey by LeanIn.Org and SurveyMonkey finds almost half of male managers are uncomfortable participating in basic workplace activities with women, including working alone together. This is a huge step in the wrong direction. …

I agree with your points. That's why I qualified the definition of "privilege" to be a benefit derived from performing a role in society. As you say, men performed the more difficult tasks and therefore earned more benefits than women. I am oversimplifying it—I’m aware it’s more complex than just this You're not oversimplifying it. Not by much anyway. There is a reason why the phrases such as "women belong in the kitchen" exist. I'm not saying that they are not meant to work outside the househol…

Yes, I do. But in the instance I've used it here, I've used it to refer to sexism against women, mostly because I view modern-day feminism as sexism towards men and I needed a contrasting term that would mean gender bias towards women. I do see your point though. I'll clarify it.

Kenya. It's so strange that I can usually come across both feminist progressives (see #mydressmychoice) and traditional sexists in the same neighborood.

I had to come down to your level. So you are somehow better than me. Hmmm. you are making this as an argument between you and me In all my replies I have tried to return the conversation back to the issue I was asking about in the original post. You have remained quite fixated on me. And the fact that I have had fruitful discussions with others in this post regarding the issue you seem hell-bent on escaping just goes to show that you are the outlier. But, to each their own. I get it. Some people…

Man, this shit just pisses me off. Like, why? In my country, they do it with education as well, allowing girls to proceed to higher education with lower points. Then they end up performing poorly in the workplace, which they then blame on the male-dominated workplace and its culture. Instead of providing equal opportunities. Fuck. That. Preferential. Treatment.

Pleasure to "meet" you as well! I think egalitarianism is easier tbh. Now we have feminism for women, MRA for men, LGBTQ for other genders, each pushing for their issues to be heard like its some sort of competition. Wow. There's a whole other side to this I had not considered.

down to your level That's some nice privilege you got there, eh? because I had to push it down your throat You have made no point thus far other than saying 1) I am concern troll and 2) I am privileged. Nothing about what I originally posted about. that is why you started thinking about all this magnitudes before the reality I don't think you are in a position to tell me why I started doing something. I actually live in Kenya. But we were once part of the UK so :) I think I see your point now. Feminism has always been about the betterment of one gender. So no matter what mental gymnastics they try to pull, with redefining terms and coining others, as long as the core belief of female betterment remains, it will never truly be a movement for equality. Is that the gist of it?

Good. See, now we're getting somewhere. Discussing issues instead of personal attacks. I like this progress, yeah? So this is what I'm thinking about, is it possible to have a tendency to call out feminazi bullshit so much, so often, and for so long that we may get into a position where we will be unable to recognize it when/if the militant element of feminism were removed? And if that is possible, would we continue to disregard their opinions and consign them to the bullshit pile? And if we do …

You have no power to hurt me. You are but words on a screen. I am engaged in introspection right now, asking myself whether by hating feminists as much as they hate men makes me just as bad as them. You? You have some real issues with privilege. It may do you good to think on them, yeah?

That's true. Back home, the dichotomy you speak of is everywhere. So much so that there are electoral posts reserved for women only, and a whole ministry intended to cater to the needs of women, and a section of government tenders that men cannot apply to. I guess the reason I am optimistic is that I have seen a couple of examples here where the empowerment of the girl child has not come at the expense of the boy child, which has made me believe that there is indeed a way to attain mutual satisf…

It is unfortunate that you have become the hate-filled monster that you purport to be fighting against. You are not open to criticism You resort to personal attacks when your point of view is not met with unconditional obeisance You immediately attack what you do not understand. What do you see in modern Feminism that is admirable that fits solely under their umbrella? You know nothing about my life status. Again, you have made (wrong) assumptions about me, and then started attacking those assum…

Indeed, and thanks for pointing it out. It seems that my post appeared to equate feminism and women. That was not my intention. My intention was to create a discussion on the issue. The post about the mother disturbed me not because of the mother's behavior (what else to expect from a psychopathic misandrist?) but because the reaction from the members was to point out, as you say, the poetic justice. There was less discussion about suicide rates among men which, I believe, is one of the issues t…

First of all, I am a black male, so shut up about privilege. Sheesh. It's like you learned the word yesterday. Secondly, the fact that you have not addressed a single point on the issue I have raised and instead chose to make assumptions about who I am and then attack those assumptions shows that you truly are blind to criticism.

I understand your point of view. The double standard does exist. And calling it out is warranted, and encouraged. I agree with that. What I do not agree with is the tendency for this sub to kind of get into a mindset where feminism-bashing is a sport with no connection to men's rights. We are Men's Rights, and I believe that our first and foremost interaction with feminists should be with regards to infringements on our rights.

What do you see in modern Feminism that is admirable that fits solely under their umbrella? I am NOT talking about the current wave of misandry that we are assaulted by on the daily. I think there is another version of feminism that does not seek to empower women by subjugating men. I don't believe that female empowerment is inextricable from male subjugation. That version of feminism, is what I believe to be true feminism. That version is what I think is admirable. But it has been co-opted and …

So... we should not address the issue of disproportionate suicide rates between men and women? What should we do then, if not that? What is the point of Men's Rights if it is not to discuss the issues affecting men, to make sure that such suicides are prevented in future? To make sure that the problem is not buried with the kid? I agree that "It is not too late for his heartless mother to accept criticism and do some self reflection on her role in his decision." But that's not what was going on …

No, this sub and the movement around it isn't misogynistic I didn't say the sub and the movement are misogynistic. and no it is not an attack on women to do so Neither did I say it was an attack on women. To claim otherwise shows you are nothing more than an ideological fanatic who is desperately trying to maintain the grip on public debate about gender issues I agree with you there. to claim that criticism of feminism is misogynistic is just moronic I did not claim that criticism of feminism is…

I have, and still do, try to talk about men's issues outside of Reddit, and I do know the feeling of being demonized for making perfectly sound arguments. But just because they think the idea of men's rights is tantamount to misogyny does not mean that we should go to the other extreme and become such feminist-bashers that when a story of a young man committing suicide ends up on our sub, all we can focus on is the fact that his mother was a heartless bitch. Our focus should not be on the mother…

Okay. You're right, good sir/madam. I was wrong. In this context, and this thread especially, that is talking about unsolicited groping, I didn't think I had to specify it to be unsolicited .

It's like there's a slow turning and grinding of wheels and the public is slowly coming around to realize that indeed women are not the perfect, oppressed, enslaved, eternal victims of sexual assault fearing for their lives whenever they are within twelve feet of a man.

Groping is wrong. Period. That woman carrying a knife, probably legal. Stabbing the guy the first time, accepted. Chasing him to stab him again? Illegal.

Yes. Soon, there will be no way to tell the truths from the falsehoods. It seems as if, ideologically at least, there is a fundamental disconnect between men and women's worldviews and it is growing.

I agree. Sexual harassment in the workplace is not just about indirect inappropriate behavior (whether it comes from a man or a woman). Its about making someone feel uncomfortable in their place of work. And Short skirts and popping cleavage make me feel uncomfortable. At work. If it was a casual setting, then that's fine, but not where I have to concentrate on not losing a few million dollars.

Its funny how that there is no methodology used in determining which characteristic goes where. Does she intend to say that there is no collaboration in a masculine economy? or resourcefulness? or sustainability? This is a sack of shit. Her own business model is the same model used by some for-profit institutions offering dubious credentials such as Feminist Business Analyst? Idk. What I do know is that she is using the same masculine capitalist model to earn profits.

I agree with you Lethn, to an extent. It is in situations like these that the motive behind an act is important. It seems the author is implying that the boy's dickery is somehow due to the fact that she is female. Which is just wrong.
