I would say it would only be the punishment that would be received for that crime, not a punishment compounded by previous crimes. So if that individual had previously committed two crimes and this was his third and was being punished more strictly, then the individual who falsely accused would get the more lenient sentence. But what happens when the person you accuse actually gets punished for the crime they didn't commit? Do you not think it's fair that your lie that got them in that situation should get the punishment they were going to receive?
