It’s not about punishment. It doesn't matter what the intent is, it's still the reality that it's a punishment to be jailed. Their life is effectively put on hold. So how can you in good conscious punish someone for something they had no control over? Also, you didn't answer my question. Is true equality the goal or not?

Alright, I recommend rereading what my comment actually reads before commenting, because you're arguing against things I'm not saying.

Well yeah, if he can easily infer that one of them is trans, it increases the likelihood that the other is trans immensely. That is just simple human behaviour: people hang out with people who look like them, more often than not. Men hang out with men. Women hang out with women. And yes, 6'3 biological women exist. It's just an incredibly incredibly uncommon thing, especially compared to 6'3 men.
/r/MensRights06/07/23 04:39 AM

Are you fucking stupid? He hates men for pointing out that at least one of them is likely to be trans? This is not a man vs woman thing, stop trying to defend literally anything a man does. He’s just outlining the facts.

Yes at the cost of exact equality. This would be an easy and huge step in equalizing the male and female prison populations. One step closer to true equality So which is it then? True equality? Or not true equality? I don't blame them for commiting crimes. If you don't blame them, why punish them? How can you punish someone for something they had no control over?

Uhhh, my point was that there's more people in jail for trafficking than possession, because it's a significantly harsher punishment. I proved my point. Again, not condoning the ramifications, but that wasn't what I was arguing.
/r/MensRights05/07/23 04:45 PM

There are simply far more people in jail for taking the drug than selling the drug. Far more charges. Not simply in jail. For possession, a little over two-thirds (70.1%) were sentenced to prison; the average prison sentence imposed was five months. As of January 2022, no offenders sentenced solely for simple possession of marijuana remained in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. For many Schedule I and II controlled substances, the first trafficking offence is punishable by at least 5…

While the results still will not be 100% equa You want it 100% equal right? How do you plan to do that?
/r/MensRights05/07/23 04:22 PM
1

Ohhhh, so that's where you draw then line then? Even at the cost of exact equality? So you're not actually looking for exact equality then, are you? Not to mention, if people don't have freedom of choice, how can you blame them for committing crimes they couldn't not do in the first place?
/r/MensRights05/07/23 04:21 PM
1

Why not then? It affects men disproportionality, and we want exact equality right?
/r/MensRights05/07/23 04:06 PM

Christ. You gonna legalize murder since more men are arrested for murder?
/r/MensRights05/07/23 03:48 PM

Possession and distribution are two separate crimes in the United States I know that, but how many people are actually putting away years? Realistically people are spending the big years for drug distribution, hence, actually being locked away. And even if in some alternate universe it was somehow different It wouldn’t matter because drug distribution of weed shouldn’t be a crime either. You're arguing with a wall if you think someone here is saying weed should be illegal. What I'm saying is if …

You could have easily scrolled down to see someone argue the same thing and see where I debunked that: Because women aren't selling it. Simple as. I'm not American but I'm willing to bet most of the people in jail for weed related charges were actually SELLING weed, not just enjoying it themselves.
/r/MensRights05/07/23 06:23 AM

It's a 17 year old who thinks we should "equalize prison genders" for true equality. Imagine that. Let's keep letting men out of prison until there's the same amount of men and women in prison, that'll truly progress society.
/r/MensRights05/07/23 06:22 AM
3

Yep, definitely 17. "Equalize the male and female prison populations" how you gonna do that without literally taking away human choice? You gonna tell women to commit half the crime? Or you gonna let men off the hook so there's not more men in prison? Actually stupid idea, just like the feminist idea to have 50% doctors.
/r/MensRights05/07/23 06:21 AM
4

Yep, and in fact the person who legalized it has largely been against men's rights.
/r/MensRights05/07/23 12:07 AM
2

Knowing the risks in a corrupt system doesn't make it acceptable. I'm not arguing that. What I'm arguing is the fact that they knew it would easily land them in jail, and yet, they did it. And it's not like selling weed was some necessity of life. It'd be like having guns banned, and still having a gun. Having a gun is not necessary. Don't have sex if you don't want to have kids Yeah? Don't have unprotected sex if you don't want to have kids. Like that is just flat out true. Sex in itself is bio…

While I support the legalization of weed (it's also legal in my country) I don't think that legalizing weed = win for mens rights. Fundamentally just because a man is most likely to commit a crime (whether or not you believe the crime to be justifiably a crime) doesn't mean that legalizing said crime helps the rights of men. By that line of logic, legalizing murder and assault would "benefit men" because then all the men in prison for that would be freed. You can argue all you want that weed sho…

so if you expect 'overnight changes', you're of course going to be disappointed. I'm not expecting over night changes. What I'm taking issue with is two fold: One, you've argued that men's rights is not seen as a rightwing thing anymore, then citing what I presume to be a leftist talking about men's rights. That's like saying gun right's are not a rightwing thing anymore and citing a leftwing person like Destiny talking in support of it. What is "seen" is simply what is cultural perception. Seco…

You're really not responding to what I'm asking. Your reasoning for why men's rights activists get branded as rightwing is: There is no left-of-center party in the US, that’s why men’s issues is seen as extremist right ideology in the US. Because the extreme right talks about it much more than the center-right Democratic Party. So overall, it’s seen as a politically conservative position. This reasoning can only apply to America, because this reasoning references the political makeup of America …

Idk man, every single government job in my country continues to say that they discriminate against men and white people for the sake of “equity”. Just because some slightly famous/influential people are pointing it out would certainly not be the turning point. I’d argue the matter of significant goes like: Slightly influential individual(s) (someone whose not a known name but more famous than the average Joe) Largely influential individual(s) (someone like Drake or Brad Pitt) Societal opinion (i…

Because the extreme right talks about it much more than the center-right Democratic Party. So overall, it’s seen as a politically conservative position. Yeah but see that's where I disagree. I fundamentally disagree on why the perception is there in the first place. If you're a men's rights activist in Canada, you're seen as rightwing. There's no dynamic of two parties that are both…

It is because the American Center-Right, aka mainstream Democrats, are in no way leftist. I would massively disagree. I think what you've said here is a product of American tunnel vision. Why would supporting mens rights be considered rightwing in places outside the US, if it was that? Even then, why would the Democrats being rightwing have anything to do with associating men's rights with being rightwing, if they themselves are against it while also rightwing? No, I believe the reason men's rig…

Unfortunately man, not sure how much of that is societal. I’d argue at least half of commonly described “creepiness” is simply due to the ugliness in the first place, rather than a direct critique of one’s behaviour. For every time a handsome guy is called creepy for doing some stalkerish behaviour (rightfully so), an ugly guy is called creepy for simply shooting his shot or hell, even existing.

/r/MensRights01/03/23 04:36 AM

Because put simply, nobody does. If your question is, why is that the case, it’s largely* societal influence. Men are taught that their emotions are meaningless to others, and women are taught than an emotional man is unappealing and weak.

I think there’s just toxic behaviour in general. Whether it’s antisocial behaviour, or traditionalist expectancy, it’s just toxic. Both men and women can conduct it and expect it.
/r/MensRights23/02/23 07:00 PM
2

Because the idea of toxic masculinity is singled out as a man thing, something done by men and upheld by men exclusively, which isn’t true. By the same logic you could argue there’s such thing as toxic feminity, at which point it just becomes toxic behaviour.

Idk Will Smith doesn’t really gain my sympathy. I get it, his wife is a total bitch, but then he “defends” her honour by attacking another man making a small joke? Literally giving feminists a prime example of “toxic masculinity”. It is such an embarrassment to defend someone’s honour in that way.

You're right, words do mean things. Let's define them. Misogyny: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women. Sexism: prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, on the basis of sex. Misogyny is a type of sexism, one specifically against women. Misandry is sexism against men. How about you hop off your "anything I don't like is feminist bullshit" and recognize when someone is actually sexist against women, instead of being a blind partisan hack. Nah morally, this guys exactly what leftwing feminists thing rightwing and mens rights activists are. Genuinely, he thinks women belong in the kitchen and it’s the man’s duty to work and provide for her. As well he’s just also said stupid shit like how he hates poor people because it’s so easy to be rich and that video games are for losers because you can get rich and drive nice cars irl instead of playing racing car games.

Andrew Tate is an idiot who doesn’t care about mens rights, any MRA should be able to understand that. But if Tate is innocent, I hope he is found innocent. If he’s guilty, I hope he is found guilty.

Because feminists are about who they perceive whose the most oppressed. They dislike white people, and they dislike men. There are personal and environment factors that come into play here. But they’ll ignore the personal factors when it comes to black people, and ignore the environmental factors when it comes to men.
/r/MensRights22/12/22 06:48 PM

Beautifully well made article. It expresses exactly how I feel about Tate: he says some things that are true, but many stupid things. He’s not an intelligent person outside of his ability to scam people. I have a lot of friends who like Tate but aren’t reaaally too political. And I say this as someone who is rather rightwing in Canada. But what they always say is that he’s “joking” when he says absurd things and not joking when he says true things, which is completely up for interpretation.

It’s very simple. You say that just because someone calls themselves something that has a definiton, that does not mean they abide by that definition. I and a significant portion of the population could start calling ourselves blue, and we’d be known as the blue people, not because we’re actually blue but because we call ourselves that.

First off, something I implore others to often think about is how it looks from an outsider, an alien of similar intelligence to us. We cut the tip of our sons dicks off. That is what circumcision is. Yes, it certainly has some practicality of it, I'm not disagreeing there. But the fact remains that it is just removing a natural piece of the bod…

Exactly. I’m pro choice, but conscription, genital mutilation, and fatherhood are still not a choice for men in the west.

I feel non-religious, free thinking conservatives are most likely to share our views. There are a lot of leftwing people who either think we're stupid for being against male genital mutilation, discrimination and for equal responsibility, and the rest just don't care.

It is, by definition, mutilation. Not when it's done for medical reasons, but for religious reasons. Or personal reasons. Anything that the man did not consent to, or the doctor did not advise in regards to the boy's health, is mutilation. I am not putting my father down when I say he has been mutilated. He was. He does not interpret me saying he was mutilated as me putting him down, he clearly observes it as me putting down the people who did that to him. Your argument is so mute. "Don't say so…

Genital mutilation has been ingrained into our society because fucking religious nutjobs want to practice their barbaric acts. Now a days, most people don't think about it. My father never thought about the fact that he had his genitals mutilated when he was young. He only started thinking about it when I brought it up a few years ago. It's disgusting, and it's fucking wrong. Just like a million other things in our society. Reddit is a fine example to find people who have disgusting and wrong id…

I genuinely want to leave Canada. There’s so many people who agree with this bullshit and or don’t care.

To me it just feels like the school had done something worse than the people who accused him, as they’re supposed to be the arbiters of the objective truth in this scenario

I agree, it’s sad that there’s still this bias against men. What also really irks me is all the rightwing people who are for some reason supporting Putin’s imperialism, but that’s another story.

"A new study suggests that being responsive to a potential partner is perceived as a feminine trait." And where do "feminine traits" come from? Culture. Your own study does not provide evidence to anything biological or genetic. So I'll ask again. You are arguing that women are genetically attracted to men who never express emotional responses like sadness or discontent. Where is your evidence of such?

Your second sentence is stupid, but your third sentence is correct. The goal is to change society’s view on the subject, if we’re truly aiming for gender equality.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
