I think those are reasonable things to be annoyed with in a romantic partner. Not the best example of a HVM.

Congrats! I’m so happy for you ❤️❤️❤️Sometimes I message the teenage girls in AgeGap subreddits but it’s always demoralizing - usually the girl I’m messaging will be super defensive and start attacking me. I’m glad it had an impact, I’m going to keep messaging these girls and hope they start seeing these older men for the abusers that they are. What do you think someone could say to you back then that would have encouraged you to reconsider your relationship?

Hmm I actually don’t think this is 100% of the reason, but women being sexualized/objectified is definitely a big factor. I think the other side of this is female socialization in general - wanting people to like you and shrinking yourself and your wants in order to do so. When I was a teenager and a young adult I cared SO MUCH about what other people thought about me that I never really had a strong sense of self - what I thought about myself, what my wants and needs are. I would focus on getting female friends, building up your confidence and working through your trauma before you start dating again. In my experience, predatory men can be really good at figuring out if a woman is vulnerable and has low self esteem. Guys like this will test boundaries and see how much they can get away with. You need to be happy enough with yourself that you can walk away from a relationship as soon as you start seeing red flags.

I don’t think you’re being an asshole. He does sound like an insecure man who likes to see himself as a player. It also sounds like he was lying about why that woman called during your date. If you’ve only been dating for two months, this is supposed to be the honeymoon phase where guys try really hard to impress you and win your heart. This guy sounds like trash. I would ditch him.

From personal experience, women with mental illnesses tend to attract predators and become victims of male abuse. I think predatory men can tell if a woman is vulnerable and not good at setting boundaries. Men with mental health problems tend to be abusers.

Er...it sounds like you’re blaming yourself for your communication problems when in actuality your boyfriend is an asshole. He’s getting upset for no reason and it sounds like he resents you. Do you feel like you have to tiptoe around him and choose your words carefully so that he doesn’t get angry? He sounds like an abuser.

Because they don’t see women as people.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
