take time to heal, go to therapy, exercise, make friends, spend time on your hobbies, sleep… there’s no rush, when you’re ready you’ll be ready.

Not feeling attracted to her isn’t a good reason to watch porn.. you need marriage counseling and also a change of heart. Appreciate her more.

I understand wanting to meet him and it’s normal. But it is not up to you to decide that. Communicate to her you want to meet him first and if she agrees then great, if not you’ll just make life more complicated. If she’s not happy about you meeting him then her unhappiness will spill over to the kids, and they’ll sadly be the collateral damage of the drama.

I can understand that especially if your love language is quality time. You’ll get enough shaming and blaming from other commenters and don’t need another one. I just want to say I hear you and it must have stunk not to have that emotional and physical connection you longed for. I would recommend some self work, therapy, to figure out what ways you could have done better and find the root cause if there’s anything else deeper that you need to become aware of. Of course if you can salvage it, try…

Sorry to hear you’re in pain. And it sounds very painful and heartbreaking so my heart goes out to you, truly. For some perspective…most/many women disconnected a long time before divorce was decided… maybe she had more time to process this than you so she’s in a different frame of mind. I wouldn’t assume she’s trying to hurt the kids unless she’s an evil heartless person, as hard as it can be in your pain I’d try to give her the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps she feels they need to know now and …

OP - you are dateable but not from men on this forum who think like willow trees who don’t value a woman who shows maturity, commitment to family, the beauty and value of children, and have compassion for what women like you have gone through…

FWB… goodness… those relationships usually only lead to more pain, temporary relief but long term damage and hurts… suggesting that to OP is such bad advice. Agree with OP. Sorry you’re going through this difficult time but hopefully you’ll find the support you need right now.

I know this won’t be a popular opinion but I suggest you try to understand her (there’s definitely a reason for her behavior now, perhaps she’s using this to numb the pain or maybe she’s trying to use that to validate her worth…and stop feeling abandoned or unloved etc.), forgive her and still respect her in spite of her behavior because no one is righteous and get therapy for yourself and try to heal. Sorry you are hurting…

Try to get along as much as possible or things can get uglier. For the sake of your children, at least. The children are usually the ones to suffer the most when divorce get nasty.

Keep persevering and communicate how much you want her back. Don’t give up and I believe her heart could soften over time. She could be speaking out of deep hurt and resentment but there is a lot of history and if you keep at it she could start melting. She’s worth the fight.

Honestly sometimes laughter is the best medicine. I wouldn’t read too deeply into the criticism about the dinner being horrible. You can just let those words slide and focus on getting into a less depressive mood for the entire family. It is hard to see things clearly and make wise decisions in a state of depression. Focus on finding joy in life now. Make a game plan for you to have fun, for you to get enough exercise, same for your son and encourage her to do the same. Then come back to the tab…

Does she exercise? What does she do for fun and relaxation? Are her hormones balanced? She sounds depressed and emotionally unstable and might need help health wise. Sometimes the solution is not what we see. My take is marriage is worth saving if it can be helped. All the best!

You have a good wife. She’s going through a lot. She can work out at a later time once the kids are out of diapers. Focus on the positives. Forget the ex.

You sound burned out. You need a vacation and plan some fun activities that you would enjoy for a few weeks. Do you exercise? How’s your diet? Do you get enough sunlight. All these will improve your wellbeing. It doesn’t look like the marriage is necessarily the problem. You are stressed financially. You need to recharge emotionally and physically. Do those things first and see if things improve in your outlook. Divorce will not solve your financial issues, it will make things way worse. Give yo…
