What is "healing" when you've lost all hope? Thanks! Took me a year of therapy and introspection to understand this. Glad to share if it helps y’all :) | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/07/26 03:59 PM
What is "healing" when you've lost all hope?Yup! That’s the toughest part of divorce - you are not mourning the relationship, you don’t miss the person - you are actually mourning the death of your dream life, the one you had thought you will build. I did all the things you hoped for, had a kid, supported her throughout, bought a house, bought a vehicle (not a given in my country, unlike the US), took international vacations, honeymoon, babymoon all that stuff. I still got screwed over. Happens. People don’t have the conscience you expect… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/07/26 03:34 AM
In retrospect, are you ever just COMPLETELY baffled at how you ignored the red flags?Oh yeah! Totally - all the chemicals and horomones fuckin took over (what they called ‘love’) | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/26 05:29 PM
How many of you bought your wife out of the house?I did. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/06/26 04:32 AM
Just to assure men out there: I walked out door..flew overseas and after 2 freed up years remarried now 25 happy years have passed. Downside? No relationship w 3 adult kidsTell us more. I have been thinking of moving countries and starting afresh after the divorce too. But afraid of losing my local support system- friends etc. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/06/26 03:39 PM
Did your (ex)wife’s friends lead her towards divorce? In my case it was another woman friend, but that person was also her, excuse my language, feminazi mother. I TOTALLY agree with the pattern you observed. I web scraped posts and keywords from both subreddits - men and women, the stats were opposing just like you said with men recommending to try harder and women recommending to leave sooner. It’s unfortunate. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/06/26 01:01 PM
I’m AloneGet tough. File for custody. Sell the house. Start a new life. The more you give the more she will drain you | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/06/26 01:52 PM
Did anyone else end up divorced shortly after giving in to pressure to have children?Year 4 - conceived, year 5 - had the baby, year 6 - divorced. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/26 05:57 PM
The equity in the house was worth more than my freedom.Very similar case brother - ex-wife filed false criminal complaints, her influential father made sure my arguments and evidence were not even considered. Either my lawyer or the judge was compromised and my anticipatory bail was denied. (Anyone who read the order would laugh their ass off, in one quick read, on the logical fallacy of the order) It was between my liberty and the visitation rights to my kid. I never wish upon anyone to make that choice. I was ready to go to jail too but family and… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/26 10:00 AM
How Can Someone Leave the Marriage and Still Feel Abandoned by You?Ditto! Ex wife fooled me saying she is going to her parents’ for 4 days, alongwith our daughter, only to never return. All my efforts at reconciling were met with abuse. I was blocked access to my daughter and she later claimed that I had abandoned her and our baby 🤷🏻♂️ I could not for the life of me understand this - took me some online research and therapy to understand that this is typical self-victimization, manipulation and gaslighting. Ignore her - I know it pains to do that to a person y… | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/05/26 02:50 PM

years of hell in custody battle – am I an abuser or just broken?I feel you brother. I am from India where it gets worse - in short, my wife and her politically influential father, almost put me in Jail for not letting go of my visitation rights (not even custody, just basic visitation rights). One can do that in India, because the law gives insane power to women. Divorce laws are not gender-neutral. I had to go no-contact with my own child just to secure my personal liberty. Do I ever wish upon anyone to have to make that choice? NO. Will I do anything diffe… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/05/26 09:15 AM
