1) yes, of course I'd vote for legalized prostitution (but I'd vote for that anyways) or maybe some form of sex therapy (which is fairly close to prostitution in the first place, and I'd want it to be covered by insurance) 2) kind of? I already try to be very kind if I'm turning someone down. I've never turned someone down or resisted coming onto a man because I thought they got plenty of attention. The people who get my attention are the people who catch it. If I knew of a way to turn someone d…

It's definitely a safer compliment than calling a woman hot, but the women who hate being called cute are going to really really hate it. I've almost torpedoed my chances calling someone cute. Men are suprisingly okay with it, which I've always found neat.

A lot of younger people assume they're somehow special or 100% going to spot manipulative dynamics just because they know what that looks like in other people's lives. Having an older friend/aunt/whatever to gently point out when something might be skeevy can absolutely make a difference. Do I think teenage girls are going to listen to random women on the internet with any regularity? Ehhh less likely. Doesn't make it impossible though.

I think the quality of the compliment is less dependent on why they're saying it and more what they're saying, like you mentioned in number 3. I've had plenty of people give generic compliments when they were flirting vs. not flirting. Them not wanting to fuck me didn't make "you're cute" any better of a compliment. I've also had a guy who 100% was just being a sleazeball say that he liked how my dress was fluttering in the wind and that it was very cinematic. Did I like him? No. Do I wear that …

I think this framing doesn't completely accurately describe what dressing scandalously results in. It assumes that the person who looks has the ultimate authority of what is sexual, and that the person looked at knows exactly what would be sexual. For example, during the summer I prefer to wear sundresses, which have recently begun to be sexualized. A five years ago, the same dress didnt garner nearly the same amount of catcalling and leering. It similarly assumes that the wearer can truly contr…

I think a lot of womens' actions in dating do represent it. Using personally controlled birth control, going to public places on dates, sharing locations with friends, and learning basic self defense techniques/staying vigilant are all ways we try to mitigate harm. It's disingenuous to imply that women are facing that risk just to get cock. Plenty are doing it because they genuinely believe in love and believe being in love is what they need to feel fulfilled. Similarly, it's disingenuous to ass…

I find it's even more frustrating if I knew the person before we went on the date. Otherwise, I don't mind playing the manic pixie dream girl for a couple hours. I still like going on dates, but I've also never needed to use dating apps to get them. So I get to skip the whole "please like me" bit (which is the absolute worst part). My girl friends (especially the queer ones) have grown to absolutely despise dating apps for that exact reason.

Im probably not the main audience for this question since I'm not intentionally looking for anything longterm and I'm bi, but I do love inanely adding my opinion. For me, it feels like dating has gotten so performative that it's hard to genuinely get to know the person. Like I'm on the date because I already want you. You dont have to continue to convince me to want you. We're here to decide if we actually want to be together, not whether you're a person worthy of being loved. Which has got to b…

Personally, I think it's a ridiculous compliment no matter what gender it's going to. The reason women are probably more chill with it being said to men is that it's meant to be a compliment that also includes a reference to gender dynamics. Like for your emotional intelligence comment. Not only does your friend have high emotional intelligence, he's also working against the socialization of his gender roles. It pops up similarly for race dynamics as well. As in being complimented for being pret…

And if that 4 year old bitten by a dog pays more attention to dogs' body language and learns when one is aggressive, we would call that discernment. And if that guy burnt by a gold digger goes on a date where the woman refuses to pay, he would then have the discernment to understand she's a gold digger.

Labia is mostly aesthetic, longer one's can make it more difficult to get hard suction on the clit. Women taste different, but the same woman can also taste different. Pubic hair maintenance all has different pros and cons. Natural is usually pretty soft, but it can get in their mouth. (I have a tongue ring so that wasnt a super great time for either of us) Shaved can look good, but if it's not a super close shave and she's wiggly it's really rough on their face. Waxed/epilating can work best if…

I was 20 for both my first kiss and my first relationship. (Although my first kiss was a week after I lost my virginity because she smoked and I refused to kiss her) No casual sex yet, I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually. I've had 4 total relationships. Got cheated on in the first 3...took a nice longish break from dating after that. My fourth one went on for about a year and a half before he got a job out of state and I started up grad school. At most I've gone maybe 6 months single/sexle…

First of all, trying to understand what might be going on in someone else's mind is the literal opposite of solipsism. Second of all, you're describing the kink version of objectification. Which similar to all kink, subsists itself on consent. Kind of hard to have consent if you think the other person isn't really a person Third of all woman-brained solipsism It does make women impossible to respect, though. Rude.

It was more that since objectification of someone happens in someone's mind, the way to tell if they're specifically objectifying someone rather than making a faux pas is whether they care about how the other person feels. For example: Person 1: woooweee smile for me Person 2: oh...no thanks, not in a good mood Person 1: oops, my bad Vs. Person 1: woooweee smile for me Person 2: oh...no thanks, not in a good mood Person 1: no come on, I can make you smile Even though telling a person to smile is…

I'm sure there are some women who misuse objectification to mean "any attention i did not want". However, this conversation sounds very similar to the guys who are clearly catcalling you and if you push back, they say it was just a compliment. It's easy to accidentally give an awkward or weird compliment. Exceedingly easy. It's normal for someone to be uncomfortable if you accidentally gave an off putting compliment. Do you know how it keeps from becoming objectification after you've made someon…

It's hard to give advice to every gen z guy, so I'm just gonna go with the advice I've given my personal friends Body/looks: most of my friends already had some basic info about this, a lot of it was tailoring the advice to them specifically. Try to find a cheap shampoo and conditioner that's actually meant for your hair type. (Curly, straight, thining), some simple skin care if you need it, and absolutely some spf sunscreen (for your face, the sunscreen needs to be able to go on your face). Clo…

I can't tell if this post is asking "men, would you intentionally emotionally abuse a woman?" or "men, have you ever suggested watching a horror movie on a date?"

Wouldn't the agreeable thing to do in that instance be to be bluntly honest? I mean it's the thing you both agree on

oh i worded my responses poorly. i was saying intrinsic human value is a pretty popular belief because it's the basis for a lot of our ethical frameworks. as a way to refute that intrinsic human value is similar to religion (which is closer to morals)

i think you might be thinking of morals instead of ethics?

It's also the basis of pretty much all of our ethics...

Considering he seems to think either character or merit should be performed to impress people, I think we could also argue a lack of integrity. So possibly he goes 3 for 3

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
