1	A couple of days before court If the lawyer worked on a contingency fee and got a percentage of whatever monetary settlement/court ordered payments then the attorney would have been incented to counsel her client to take Throwaway_858493's original offer. But the attorney was billing by the hour so she was incented to convince her client to drag it out and take it court even though she got lost everything she was offered during mediation.	/r/Divorce_Men	17/08/23 11:29 PM
3	Posting again…. OP, your STBXW is engaging in delusional thinking. Perhaps if you take time to review your history together, you might have other examples of irrational thoughts and behavior. The purpose of alimony is to limit any unfair economic effects of a divorce by providing a continuing income to a non-wage-earning or lower-wage-earning spouse.
