A lot said here I agree w (porn is fake sex due to the demands of camera angles, lack of arousal, making it look polished, etc; porn causes intimacy issues like PIED; masterbation as a dopamine rush/escape leads to disconnection in partnered sex), but to throw in my two cents… IMO porn and ethics - It’s virtually impossible to know the complicated behind the scenes context, consent, age verification, safety, fair pay, it’s so complicated. It could be argued that the simple fact of money exchangi…

Maybe try an alternative dating app like Feeld where you can explain you’re not looking for cohabitation, marriage, or family, but are still interested in a committed partnership. And that you’re neurodivergent, and maybe list some hobbies you have that you’d like to share w a partner (board games? Rock climbing? What’s fun for you?) Then see what happens! There’s a lid for every pot but you need to be in the right spaces.

This all implies that men are the source of the disgust? Since contact w a man is gross? And then why wouldn’t you be disgusting for having sex w the woman you describe? So everyone is this scenario is disgusting? Or just the woman? Sounds like you think sex is disgusting in general? I’m confused

I think there’s a word meaning problem here! In my first comment, I used “care” to mean like using it to filter out partners, the higher the worser kinda thing. That’s how I read the OPs comments. Then when I said “care” in the second comment, I meant as is I am curious and because I care about a partner I care to know them. I think in terms of the first, some people care but it’s the loud minority. In terms of the second use, the majority care. I think out IRL people just partner off based on p…

I care enough to ask - not because I want my partner to be a virgin or as close as I can find - but just out of genuine curiosity and interest in my partners sexual history. There’s a big difference between wanting to know and wanting excluding a partner because if it like the red pill people claim. There’s data here agrees that people tend to partner off like to like, more open to more open etc.

I agree w you… insecurity at being compared and performance anxiety. And insecurity if you hook up w them it doesn’t mean they won you over and you’re in love w them; you’re trying them on. I genuinely don’t think most men care about body count. Just the red pill bros online that yell loud. Most reasonable people just care about compatibility so people w higher counts will likely pair off due to higher libido. I’ve never met anyone irl who cares.

Don’t like 65%+ relationships start online now? Doesn’t that fact in itself mean that it does work? Generally I agree that they just want you to keep swiping. Right you create your profile and the algorithm hasn’t gotten “you” yet, that’s when you have the best shot at meeting people. After a few weeks you’ll have less success.

As a bi woman, I’ve been on multiple dates where the woman told me she didn’t realize I was bi and she never would have asked me out if she knew I wasn’t a lesbian 🤦‍♀️ It made me feel really misunderstood and sad that I wasn’t being taken seriously when I was genuinely interested in them. Hard when you’re already trying to cope w homophobia from straight people. And hyper-sexualization from men on dates when I disclosed it to them. It felt like being attacked from both sides. That was pre gay m…

That’s interesting! I’ve never dated any man who’s made a lot of money 🫣 when I was single, the ones who made a lot of money either give me the ick or werent interested in me back. I’ve always wondered what it would be like, but I’m very happy w my amazing partner! He works hard and is kind and that’s all I care about. And he’s leveling up w a career change rn, and now has a super high income potential if things take off. I didn’t expect that at all so it’s an awesome surprise. So I guess maybe …

My two cents is that career/money success or at least, stability, is a reflection of someone’s character. Some people are just lazy or they are narcissists and can’t hold a job due to interpersonal conflict and the inability to take responsibility for their actions. I want a partner w a kind personality who works hard. They could be a teacher or a town administrator or whatever job that makes a pittance (and shouldn’t btw, society priorities are messed up). As long as they show up, contribute, t…

Actually I see a lot of the opposite- all the stay at home moms I know do so because they’d make so little out in the workforce, no point in paying for daycare. Teachers, office admin, other low paying careers. As a family, they struggle financially but it just is what it is considering today’s economy. All the pressure is then on the husband to keep increasing his salary to better their position. Idk anyone where the man makes so much money by himself that the successful career woman partner wh…

Would you say the same is true in reverse - plenty of men who don’t make a lot of money but are good partners to women?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
