NMMNG is all about having anxiety and dealing with the fact that you don't need to cater to others to make yourself happy. Everything that you've said here is pretty much the opposite of what's described in the first chapter or two of who should be reading that book. As long as you're stepping from side to side to the rhythm you should be fine. I do not know why this is hard for most people. Just start off tapping with your foot to the rhythm before taking the step to move your whole body. Have a good sense of what kind of music you're going to be listening to before going to the club.
