You can try it. But if you're not at the point where you can hold eye contact better than her, this will be a lot success/high learning opportunity.

Now comes the real learning. Learning how to go for girls you see and like without having the reassurance of a smile first. Do it then react appropriately. It will hurt but eventually, you'll learn your worth is independent of their approval/result.

Neediness is when you compromise your own energy to get someone else's energy. It's when you keep walking after a woman on a cold approach or keep trying to spark conversation with a wall on a date. In text message, it's when you keep trying to get good responses because you're unsure of how she'll respond to a date. Your own mood/energy never goes down during and after you pursue a woman. You can go all in and just shrug it off if they didn't like it because who would have wasted more time on s…

Actually, the follow up comments do bring up a good point, as bitter as they are. "I enjoyed the eye contact" was something I heard a while back ago, but thinking about it, I've never actually said that. I would probably say something like "Hey. How's the food or how's your day going?" And then calibrate from their response. Instant smile? Ask her something about herself. I go with "What brings you to this town?" If you can compliment genuinely without sounding like you're just fishing for appro…

"Hey, I enjoyed the eye contact and wanted to come say hi. I'm so-and-so." Then talk about the current situation. Or whatever you want to talk about. If they're interested, they'll play along. Then if you two are a match in energy and personality, just after the first sweet and high part of the conversation, cut it off. Old Arabian proverb goes: "Just as it gets sweet, cut it off." Ask/tell her to give you her number or plan a date that weekend or something and say you gotta go. They've gotta go…

"Hi, this is random. But I think you're pretty. Hi, I'm Koolafaye." If you blank out after that, the following is way better than scrambling for something to say, "Sorry, I don't do this much. I'd love to talk to you at a more appropriate time though, what's your number?" The important thing is to be congruent in your thoughts, words, and actions.

There's a lot of family in Asian families, even if we're not warm about showing it. We loan in the family without interest. We can't show weakness outside of the family. And we're expected to take care of our parents because they want the best for us in the form of financial opportunity and security. Some may say parental acceptance is key, but my filipino mom gave my dad's chinese parents shit for not wanting her cuz she wasn't chinese. That strongheadedness ended up making them accept her.

"Hey, _______, how's life going?" Talk BRIEFLY. Like really briefly. Can even be: Then immediately: "You know, I wish we talked more back then. I'm actually back in town for thanksgiving break. Would you like to grab coffee(or drinks) at this address on Friday or Saturday?"

Go back. Just say "I don't do this much, but I was wondering if you would like to go out sometime. Are you free this weekend?"

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
