Am I missing something here? Where is the proof that these groups are feminists?

You don't think that messages presenting merely as sexual objects is misogynistic?

A picture of a naked women doesn't do anything to women as a whole. Pictures don't do things - they aren't alive. It is a public act. This was promoted on live television internationally. Of course it will have an impact. Just curious, would you be ok with TV presenters wearing clothing with misandrous messages?

Or because... like.. they think we shouldn't shame men for what they wear? You think that it is ok to wear images sexualizing a gender on international television during announcements unique in history? So this is a men's human rights issue now? This negatively affects women; would it be ok if people would wear clothing that celebrated problems that men face (such as alimony, work injuries, draft), or, why not, even objectifying men themselves as nothing more than sexual objects?

I included it in 'clothing It is a related category, but its anti-feminist aspect is at least as relevant. The reason MRAs are taking an interest in this is an opportunity to oppose feminists. Therefore, you should count it in the feminist category, since that is the root of the MRM interest in it. I didn't bother with a gamergate category. Was there any? Same as above: all the threads that are related to the gamergate category should actually be featured in the feminism category, regardless of …

Meh, you could have been more precise. All the shirtgate drama is in fact anti-feminist, unless you actually believe that men wearing sexist shirts is a matter of men's rights. So, for example, #10 should count under feminism. All the gamergate stuff is also anti-feminist in nature, unless MRM has taken upon it to promote "ethics in journalism". Would you mind posting, at least in comments, a revised version of your analysis? I mean, no need to hide the anti-feminism part of the content here, it…

It's the only even partially feminist subreddit It's not a feminist subreddit one bit. Here are the top 3 overlaps of that sub: Drilldown Of 683 Users Found: Subreddit Overlapping Users MensRights 174 AskMen 78 TumblrInAction 77 changemyview 73 againstmensrights 59

r/mensrights is an anti-feminist subreddit You call yourself a feminist, in the title. Why do you call an anti-feminist subreddit your turf then?

So if I understand correctly, the fact that "never has a country as large and important as the US been governed by a predominantly female congress or parliament" means that this is normal and right? What implication are you resenting?

Thanks for the upvote. Can you clarify what such a counterexample would look like? I am not sure I understand.

The way women, even when not in positions of power are still able to wield power is terrifying when you think what the common result is, a man dying. Yeah, just look at all those male presidents, they're all so peaceful. If history taught is anything, is that male presidents, or a predominantly-male congress, will NOT send men to wars. /sarcasm

Time and time again studies show that stereotypes are stereotypes because they are true. That's an interesting formulation. How many such stereotypes are true? 10%? "Most"? All? It's "funny" that you make no mention about male stereotypes, which is what this sub is supposed to be against.

People are sick and tired of having to preface common knowledge with the stipulation that it doesn't apply to absolutely everybody . That's just the long way of saying "in general" . Usually /r/mensrights condemns instances where evidence is not provided. Isn't it a case of circlejerk / hypocrisy / double standard if they excuse themselves from following the same standard they invoke to accuse and condemn others?

I upvoted you when you asked for evidence that MRAs downvoted in /r/Feminism, I am upvoting this as well. This is indeed the voice of reason.

Generalizations are fine and useful for discourse assuming they allow for exceptions. If there is no study pointing to such a generalization, then making it yourself is either a sign of ignorance or hate - how could either be fine or useful for discourse?

But not being able to criticize someone gives them politic freedom unmitigated by reason. In what conditions are women not allowed to be criticized? Some sources too please, surprised I am the first one to ask for them in this thread.

Women rule over men. Yeah, they totally took over political and corporate leadership.

Again, I have no idea what could legitimize white supremacy/white 'defense' back then. What were they defending against? As far as I can tell, the only thing at danger was their supremacist status.

Well, that's the problem, this whole group looks like a misogynistic white supremacy - I truly believe white supremacy was much more condoned and en vogue back then. Take a look at this definition of white supremacy, and you will see that this was much more prevalent then than now: By "white supremacy" I do not mean to allude only to the self-conscious racism of white supremacist hate groups. I refer instead to a political, economic and cultural system in which whites overwhelmingly control powe…

What was the white race preserving itself from in 1928? Also, from below in this thread, it looks like the group was squarely against equality of rights for women: “Justitia” is opposed to the present movement to bestow still further political liberties upon women, who, it is claimed, are “forgetting their natural duties.” Still cheering for them?

Have you noticed the white supremacist message at the end?
