So I was in a similar situation - though mine broke at the beginning of sophomore year. It is very possible to become good with girls even if you are currently clueless. I was in decent shape, but kicked my workout routines up a notch. I started with appearance (though that is less important than i realized at the time) and revamped everything. I read as much as I could on the topic and edited everything from how I got my hair cut to dressing more "adult" - meaning less of the t-shirts i had fro…

If they told you this, that means they are almost definitely thinking about it. It is also likely they are saying it just as much for their own benefit as yours. The fact that they need to do so, means it isn't something that is completely off the table. Girls that won't have sex early on generally don't even think about it as a possibility, meaning there is no reason to even broach the topic. This is not exclusively true of course, but it is pretty common

The topics you bring up here are indeed important..but to discount what you have done so far is silly. For one, being in shape is better for your long term health (obviously), but it is also better for your mental health. Being in good shape physically is proven to enhance your intellectual abilities, thus making it easier to work on those other things. If you can do what you did in 9 months, getting the rest of it in line is going to be easy by comparison. Plus, being in awesome shape can only …

Value, skill, competition aside......I don't want a girl that has been fucked by someone else recently. But then I'm more interested in someone to date seriously at this point rather than more one night stands

Impressed. Not only because you got what you wanted in the end, but because you took something potentially unhealthy and actively used it in a healthy manner to improve yourself drastically in a relatively short period of time.

Well the most important thing is to find out if she has a helicopter

Ah, I thought that was all while he was still standing there

Yet she was essentially belittling a customer while he was standing there? Even if hes not yet purchased anything hes still a customer while in the store!

Well, the manager has hit her career peak, lol.

Was this high school? The whole story seems very high school from the guys awkward approach to the way the girls (especially the manager) handled it

The girl and manager (guessing manager was female too)?

Hey at least the guy tried, that is better than the guy that sits in the corner and stares the whole time wishing he did. He did manage to pick probably the worst possible time to make the attempt though

Miniature and Magnum condoms, one condom at a time alternating between each trip to the register

Props for creativity, but that just seems too dumb/awkward to work as well as a straightforward approach

This is by far the best method. I worked fast food for awhile when I was in school and I used to get agitated quickly with people holding up the line when we were busy, even if the person holding up the line was an attractive girl. I'm sure not everyone cares so much, but I feel like it is likely a common feeling-and not making her uncomfortable from this (plus the added worry of her manager seeing her flirting and building up a long line of angry customers) is definitely a plus.

If you shop there consistently, chat with her each time while she checks out your groceries. She will remember you and at some point you can just lead with "hey lets get coffee tomorrow" or something similar. Personally, I would just go with a direct approach early on-but if you are really nervous about asking in front of other people this is an option

You may hate it, but that doesn't mean all cashiers or even a majority hate it. The girls I've worked with over the years usually loved it as long as the guy wasn't creepy or crude. Even if the guy isn't someone they would date, as long as it isn't uncomfortable it can brighten someone's day. And I've dated attractive girls I met while they were working...I'm not ugly but I'm hardly Casanova. I do agree though, if attempting to move beyond flirting to a date you should be extra careful with hitt…

I was referring to the people dancing near girls as being the awkward thing, the comparison wouldn't make sense otherwise :P

How do people even do that? That seems like the most awkward thing imaginable. That is like approaching a girl, but starting the conversation from 4 feet away and facing another direction as you talk

I'll agree with the part where you state that saying "I like you" is selfish, the rest is just dumb, no offense.

Even done in a joking manner it still seems like an overprotective move to me. When I started dating I did the overprotective thing both by being physical and saying things like the above and it never turned out well. Either resulting in my girlfriend being annoyed that I was being overprotective or upset that I didn't trust her to handle it. Now, I've learned to relax and just let her deal with them for the most part while still making myself available if she needs me. I've found that girls wil…

He clearly meant being hit on when he said attacked, there is no universe where you could consider he actually was talking about the girl being physically assaulted (which wouldn't even fit in to this thread in a relevant way anyways). The point he is trying to make is that she can handle herself, and if she needs you she will let you know. When my past girlfriends felt like she was being hit on she would basically just become more physical with me if i was standing withing reach. Or alternative…

Getting rid of the competition is fine, but in that example it is doing so in a way that shows that you are jealous/uncomfortable and generally coming from a place of low value and confidence. This is a major turn off for most girls, especially if the she doesn't perceive the guy as hitting on her and just being friendly. Blasting massive "MINE DON'T TOUCH" signals is a quick way to piss her off, no one ones an overprotective partner. 99% of the time she will indicate that you and her are togeth…

Ya definitely, I'd been trying to figure out what the difference was between when I used to hit on girls and now with little luck...The only thing I could think of is how girls act and what they are used to has changed in the last 4 years (which is true, but not the issue). It was definitely that I went for quality over quantity before, getting 1-2 numbers in a night and spending a few hours with each (nearly all responded back then). Whereas now my friend and I are meeting between 30-50 a night…

Excellent advice, I'll definitely have to start trying out some of those techniques! I have to say that situation you mentioned where being physical with them (kissing at the bar) didn't result in a return text has confused the hell out of me, used to be that situation would result in the girl waiting by the phone for that text. Most certainly going to talk to them more about a date now though, before i was making an excuse to leave then getting the number and immediately taking off.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out! I started out waiting 2 days before I texted, but a friend pointed out that they might not remember me by that point depending on their level of intoxication. I've since swapped to the day after, but still with little success there. That night seems a bit quick though, since it could come across as kind of needy-especially if you got her number pretty late in the night. Would you mind elaborating on how that usually goes for you? Also, have you noticed a differ…
