Hey, I always relate to this issue. It can be really hard to believe there’s a really significant problem here and that it’s not your fault. Somehow putting up just seems to be the go to for most people and that can last years until one person decides they’ve finally had enough and leaves. Most people just don’t give this the attention it deserves until it’s too late. You can check my post history to see what my deal was but in a nutshell I’d say I broke up a relationship where I felt similarly …

Hey, hopefully it all came across as semi constructive. I find these subs super useful for sharing experiences or rather just getting a lot of perspective (something I didn’t have much of years ago). It sounds like your guy might not have much going on. Like maybe you’re it and he doesn’t have much else in terms of a social life or other stimulation. I’m just speculating though. I’m also not saying you’re not awesome, just that it puts a lot of pressure on you and makes it more likely he’s disen…

Yeah cool. Sounds pretty normal. I think the post above was terrible advice personally. Adding pressure like that which for a lot of guys is a hard no anyway at this stage....yeah I don’t see what good can come of it.

Australia you say? At first I thought OP was crazy but seeing as it’s specifically local and low follower count chicks...those are some pretty red flags I’m seeing.

In what way have you ‘thrown it around’ if you don’t mind me asking? What was his reaction?

Edit: Woah thanks for the awards you kind people. I don’t really believe in it but I’ll give this a trigger warning just in case. TLDR - I think you should consider counselling or another mechanism to baseline your relationship and make a fresh start together. Don’t do this alone, don’t read books by yourself hoping for change. Talk to your partner and tell him this is serious. Give him time to realise what’s happening so you don’t put him on the defensive. Collaborate on this. If you don’t love…

“There was a hugely increased sense of hostility and resistance, a refusal to engage at all, a sense of preconceptions that this was a man-hating feminist coming in to bash boys.” Then spends the entire article implying that porn is turning young boys into rapists, that sexual assault is widely rewarded within established positions of power. Yeah I’m so glad women ‘won’t take this laying down’... Wow so strange that young men would feel like there’s some kind of brooding hostility here...

’You have a bigger penis than my husband’ Haha yeah I don’t really see how he’s still there.

I completely agree with you. The single biggest irony here is that most times I’ve seen a girl truly hurt by comments about her physicality it’s been because of someone from her own sex. Women compare themselves to one another constantly! In my opinion it is FAR more likely for women to socially stratify themselves by physical appearance than guys. Being a young woman is no joke...it’s definitely a tough gig...but men aren’t to blame.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
