I was serving Jury Duty and the judge was telling all of us about a case that had came through and then was sent to Judge Judy. Yes, the producers pay the result, and the people get compensated, but according to our judge, a real judge, the verdict and everything is real and it is considered a real courtroom

You basically have to show your hand with certain stuff. You can't hide evidence from the other side. This video, if held back, could have been thrown out if we were proven to have hid it from the other side, which would have happened since I shot it. You couldn't say, "Oh, I didn't know I had this." Obviously I did. And to get them to walk away was cheaper than actually spending more money and going to court to bust them. Plus it saved valuable court time from being wasted.

Had a court case with this type situation. Had video evidence that the accuser was completely fabricating a story. I wanted to let that person hang themselves in court and then bust them with the video, but that isn't how it works. You have to disclose and once they saw the video, case dropped. But I so wanted to have the person proven a liar in front of the judge.
