If you're unable to pick up the behavior by watching, ask your friends to people waych with you and have them point out what they're observing and picking up on and have them explain it to you what sorts of cues they're seeing (do this with a friend if they have adequate social skills and experience with dating type things, that is.) If you're struggling to figure it out by observing people on your own and you can't seem to be able to pick apart the signals people are giving, that's okay. But th…

Men don’t have the opportunity that women do get to know someone like that. Why don't men have the opportunity to do this?

Fair enough! I wasn't sure exactly which part you were referring to, that makes more sense that you meant using other men as an anecdote wouldn't be as effective. My bad lol. I usually bring it up more to let other men know that there's men who are successfully dating that maybe have certain qualities they're insecure about and think women don't like, especially since a lot of men struggling with this whole thing tend to be fixated on what an "ideal man" is supposed to look like. But definitely …

But talking to a women that you find attractive ... That is terrifying because i have nothing to default to and im distracted by the fact that im attracted to you so its just easier to avoid them unless they want to start a convo If "by nothing to default to" you mean having something to talk about, I think there's another way to approach this. There's lot's of women you'll be attracted to, but that doesn't mean you'd have anything in common with any of them. Why not approach women when you noti…

Have you never picked up a bad vibe on somebody you've never spoken to and later found out your intuition was correct?

So it sounds like you admit that it is possible for shy men to be approached. What have you done to self improve OP?

I don't disagree. People can approach whoever they want to approach as long as they aren't weird about it. Gender shouldn't matter at all. Yes men are the main ones to approach women first in many dating cultures. But that's not always the case either. OP was speaking about it very black and white though and I wanted to understand his thought process.

I'm not sure if I understand what you're writing here. There's no clear duty for one gender to approach the other or any such thing. People can literally do whatever they want as long as it's not hurting anybody. BUT 2 things can be true. Women can be the ones to initiate with men, but also that MOST WOMEN are not going to be the ones to approach first. If you're in a culture where women do not TYPICALLY approach first, then it would be a good idea to approach women first if you want to increase…

Your response isn't proving me incorrect so far. If you did come to a woman speaking like how your responding to me now, she definitely wouldn't want to speak with you. Even if she didn't think your shyness was an issue. I can understand that being 30+ years old and never having had a girlfriend is frustrating, but speaking like this is highly disrespectful and you know it. If you want genuine advice, you'd do a lot better by being more polite and not letting your emotions get to you. Learning h…

My boyfriend is incredibly shy and that's something I love about him. Even before me, he had no issues with women approaching him when they were interested in him. So how could this be if your claim is true? He's not particularly unique either in my experience of knowing other shy men.

Kindness isn't about how you speak in public, it's about the intent behind your words. People can absolutely pick up on latent bitterness when you talk about certain things. If you want your kindness to show through your words, it'd be wise to work through what exactly it is that's fueling the unfiltered thoughts that you're not sharing with others.

Two things can be true at the same time: you can meet people online and also travel out to the nearest city to find people to hang out with. I did not mean that you can't anyone in person. Just that if you're limited because you live some place with not a lot of people that you get along with, meeting people online might help you not feel so alone. Have you ever tried talking to people online just about your interests or anything like that? I think the type of conversations you have with people …

Depending on how many people are in the city near you, you might have much better odds meeting other neurodivergents there then you would think. But there's also a lot of communities online that are full of autistic people. Even if there's no one nearby like you, the possibilities online are practically unlimited.

Autistic people are a very small minority. There are about four times as many autistic men as there are autistic women. If you don't mind me asking, do you live in a small town or a place with not a whole lot of people? If so that might be why they seem so rare to you. I live near a major city and in my family there's several other autistic people, most of my friends are autistic and (likely) so is my boyfriend. I work with a few autistic people too...they're not so rare that you would have a lo…

I have autism. I cannot and never will be able to relate to other humans. Autism can't be cured. At best I can learn to imitate NTs but it will never be genuine. You're right that relating to NTs is always gonna be hard. But don't you think you'd be able to relate to other Autistic people? That way you don't have to worry about trying to imitate like neurotypicals to be understood. You can communicate like an autistic person with other autistics and it would be genuine.

I've thought about this a little bit because you're right, women don't really pay for sex work. There has to be an explanation for why women's demand for sex doesnt look like men's demand for sex. So I thought about why that might be. Being connected and close to people is an inherent human need. We need to not feel alone in order to survive. There's many different ways to get this need fulfilled: emotionally fulfilling friendships, getting involved with one's community, sex/romantic relationshi…

You're very mistaken, yes. I'm not even sure if that perspective has anything to do with you being a man, since I know tons of men that would disagree from their own perspective that women have to be manipulated in order to sleep with them. Why do you believe women have to be manipulated into sex? Plenty of women are open about the fact that they enjoy sex as much as men do, and they don't benefit at all from lying about it. Is there any reason why you wouldn't accept this as the truth and you f…

I've personally known men who struggled with social skills that eventually figured this out and were able to have hookups with women once they learned how to do this though. I'm not trying to argue that it can be hard for men, but 2 things can be true at the same time. It seems like a lot of men struggle specifically because they get so caught up in trying to do all the right things to attract women that they forget that actually connecting with people is the main thing they're supposed to be do…

I mean it's not really about convincing so much as it is having a good enough time vibing with a woman before any of the hookup stuff happens. If you're going about it as if you need to behave a certain way in order to "convince" her than you've already failed the assignment. Casual sex isn't as unattainable as people might think if you can approach it with the mindset of getting to know someone and have fun in the moment with someone over anything else.

It's not even about connecting enough to have a relationship with someone. You still have to form the right kind of connection in order to have a casual hookup. Think about it, expressing attraction to a woman isn't just about letting her know that you find her attractive. She has to know that you're someone that's: 1)physically safe to hook up with (meaning you won't assault her or kill her or anything) 2) emotionally safe to hook up with (you aren't going to lie to her about whether or not you…

You said in an earlier post of yours that youre autistic, correct? You keep going on about how other mean that are fat, unattractive, have bad personalities, etc, don't have to put in any effort in order to get laid. But they ARE putting in effort to get laid, a lot of it. They're getting laid because they're able to properly use the all the communication methods that go into connecting with people enough for other people to want to hook up with them. Being autistic means you don't naturally kno…

I mean...emotional needs are the most important part of a relationship to begin with so its extremely necessary for them to be met in a happy relationship. Not capricious at all. Emotional needs would be things like loyalty, honesty, trust, feeling valued in a relationship, feeling emotionally safe and secure, feeling like your personal values and goals are aligned with your partners, feeling like you can rely on your partner to be there for you emotionally when you're going through hard times, …

I don't care about any of those things but I do them because it's what an "confident" guy is supposed to do. Clearly it's not making you confident, I'd assume. I think stuff like this can be good for confidence building, but what builds confidence for some doesn't do the same for others. That being said, it's not meant to be so much that these things are what a confident man does, just that looking one's best is what typically makes most people feel confident. You'd be better off looking within …

I mean I do it because it's what mentally ill people are expected to do. That's why I do most things. Does this include some of the ways you try to socialize with people? Or the other self improvement attempts you've made before, like you're just doing things because that's how society expects it to be done? Maybe you're never finding any success because you're trying to fit into a mold that doesn't work for you because that's what's expected, not because you think you'll be personally fulfilled…

I don't really have context as to what sorts of conversations he'd use that phrase in, but it sounds more like a personal quirk of his rather than anything expressing any actual negative emotions. I'm wondering if you might have more going on than just BPD and depression. The inability to read people properly or know how to socialize with them is clearly causing issues for you that I'm not sure any DBT therapy alone can help with. I think some sort of therapy that would teach proper social skill…

Then I'm not really sure what you'd be looking to get out of something like therapy or medication then, if I'm being honest. Did you fail in college because you simply didn't see any success in the time frame that you wanted? Or maybe because you were trying things that weren't working for you, instead of trying things that COULD work better for you? Again, meeting yourself where you're at instead of pushing yourself to do something that might not be sustainable for you. But of course you're lik…

It's not necessarily dumb, I think it makes sense considering everything you've explained up to this point. What was the phrase he used that had you feeling so distressed? Did you ever find out if he was actually mad at you, or did you just assume he was mad because you couldn't figure out what else might be the problem? Do you always have such a hard time reading what people are feeling or trying to communicate to you?

So if this theoretical machine determined that there was nothing inherently wrong with you at all that led to you not being able to have sex, and that there was some other lifr factor that you could absolutely change in so that you COULD finally start to see some success, you still wouldn't be willing to fix it? Why or why not? I guess I'd also like to know why you'd end up being more hurt and miserable by even making an attempt. The truth of the matter is that existing in this world with other …

And why wouldn't you do anything? Would you not want to be able to at least be able to try to figure out what the real issue is, if it isn't about women thinking you're unworthy? Do you think you could at least feel a bit better about trying and potentially failing at doing something, if you knew for a fact that the root cause isn't about being good enough?

So what sorts of situations are you constantly running into in the real world that make you unable to use any DBT tools? Did you ever explain to your therapist that you struggled with being able to use the skills he taught you because of how overwhelming the real world has been for you? It's incredibly hard to want for your life to be better, but to be mentally unable to do so because you aren't in the right emotional headspace for it. It's possible that DBT alone probably isn't enough for whate…

I suppose, accepting this as a real thing doesn't really change anything in my life. Are you just looking for the thoughts/beliefs themselves to somehow change your life? Because again, sure that alone won't make any changes in and of itself. You have to reflect on what sort of ways you can use these beliefs to make a better life for yourself, then you have to act on these beliefs and externalize them in some way in order to actually see any type of tangible effect. It does kind of make me feel …

My boyfriend has gotten hit on by women all through his life, lol. He's never been the one to really initiate anything with a woman. He's far from your usual masculine dude type, though. He's always been a rather quiet and soft type of guy, and it's worked out pretty well for him because he doesn't care about being seen as anything other than what's natural for him. And women respond pretty well to it. Again, just because you personally haven't seen it happen in your life, doesn't mean it isn't …

I think not having gut feelings about anything might be a much bigger issue than whatever relationship struggles you might be having right now. Are you neurodivergent? Because I can see how one could fall into pill idealogy if they have a hard time socializing and understanding the intentions of other people. Its harder, but not impossible. I guess if I take the idea "Women like sex" as true it's not like it changes anything about my life anyway. Youre right, but it's not meant to change anythin…

Men use sex as a manipulation tool as well. My male ex did this all the time. Also, my current boyfriend told me about a time where a woman approached him for sex and HE was the one that refused, and SHE was the one to block him in response. What do you make of that, then?
/r/ExRedPill27/05/24 08:24 PM

So then I guess you should probably get to the root of what leads you to fall for manipulative so easily. Is there something you feel like you could gain if you believe what someone's saying, even if you have a gut feeling that it's untrustworthy? Or do you genuinely have a hard time figuring out when someone is telling the truth and when they're lying? Being gullable is something you can work on. But defensive skepticism isn't the way to stop falling for bullshit. If anything, it can push you b…

So if women didn't enjoy sex, then why do so many erotic romance novels geared towards women exist in the first place? I guess the other question to ask would be why it's so hard for you to imagine that women genuinely enjoy sex, even when multiple people are telling you that it's true? What do you get out if believing that women don't want sex?

I don't think rejecting someone is the same as all the other things you listed...Someone can decide not to be with someone for any reason, regardless of gender. Most people aren't romantically or sexual compatible with most other people. Also, do you not believe there's tons of women out there that don't go to parties and night clubs all the time? These things you're mentioning are very time intensive and honestly, women are generally too focused on things like work or school or keeping up with …

i do value more physical attraction and dont think its inherently superior, i just had women lately pushing for being the husband guy so strongly and being so insisting on it that it just made me hate it, from how they talk one would think there is no choice but being like him, and i know that i would regret living like that. Women mention it so much because a ton of guys mistakenly think that they have to be "Chad" in order to ever have a chance with women. The Chad narrative is really bad beca…

i like being liked in a way, in a very physical way if anything a lot of their standards seem even more off-putting than the ones of the red-pill Why is it more off putting? It doesn't have to be what you're interested in, you'd simply be the recipient of this type of attraction. Do you want to be liked in a physical way because you think that would make you of higher value than a man who's wife describes him as "cute and sweet"?
