Looking for a Definition of “Consent”I'm not in a position to be married in the near future, but going the no marriage license route would be on the table for me. All other things being equal, I'd probably get the license just for the sake of having it. I wouldn't consider my being married or not beholden to the state, so when the time comes I'd evaluate my hypothetical fiance and I's situation to decide what's wise. Unless there was a big financial incentive not to do so, I'd lean towards getting the license. | /r/RPChristians | 05/12/19 05:17 AM
OYS - Where Progress is Made (11/27/19)OYS #3 Physical: Restarted SL 5x5 a couple weeks ago. Current 5x5 lifts: SQ 65lb, BN 80lb, Row 80lb, OHP 50lb, DL 1x5 105lb 307 lbs, 5'11", 40%+ BF, 29yo, single. Made some progress on eating and lifting. Total deficit was around 9k Calories, and I hit my protein goal all but one day due to a 24h fast over the weekend. Yes, I know that's a big deficit, but I still feel pretty good. I'm getting enough protein to prevent muscle loss, and at my weight I have a lot of fat stores to work with. No por… | /r/RPChristians | 27/11/19 10:55 PM
OYS - Where Progress is Made (11/13/19)ETA: Really appreciate your comment and willingness to spend some time on me. I benefit greatly from your wisdom here and on other threads. Remember: having low body fat and muscles feels better than any food tastes. Indeed. I've only recently figured out how much being fat impacts everything in my life. The halo effect is real. Since your finances are good, buy the materials you need now. When you're tempted to watch porn, go work on a home maintenance project instead. Good idea. Will be doing … | /r/RPChristians | 20/11/19 04:43 AM
OYS - Where Progress is Made (11/13/19)OYS #2 It's been 9 months since my first OYS, and honestly, I have basically nothing to show for it. I've been putting off posting this, so I want to get something up. Physical: Restarted SL 5x5 last week. At or near the starting point for all the lifts. ~315 lbs, 5'11", 40%+ BF, 29yo, single. I've floated around 315-330 lbs for the last 9 months. Diet has generally been garbage (mostly fast food), and breaking those habits has been hard. I've been focusing on getting plenty of protein (150g+) a… | /r/RPChristians | 18/11/19 07:36 AM
Wow Relevant Magazine is so cucked."Someone in college told me once that you shouldn’t date anyone unless you’re willing to take things two steps ahead with them: In other words, don’t date anyone you wouldn’t make a fiance. In other other words, be a total psychopath." Oh okay, good to know that being intentional is psychotic. To be fair to the author, this goes way beyond intentionality. First dates are taken way too seriously in Christian culture. When you go on a first date, the objective should be to decide if you want to … | /r/RPChristians | 02/05/19 07:16 PM
Ideas to consider for men who follow Jesus…I'm new around here, but I'll bite. Not even sure I formatted this thing correctly. I've removed or shortened some quotations to get under the 10k character limit. TLDR: The Red Pill is incomplete. No clue what this link is talking about. The Christian Red Pill forum seems to have grown out of a vacuum. Many men believe and trust in Christ but they just can’t shake the reality of the red pill. Women are hypergamous! Yes. But can I really go around trying to get a notch count of 100 like these gu… | /r/RPChristians | 07/02/19 05:30 AM
Should I Date An Unbeliever if I Can Lead That Person to Christ? Thanks RC and Chuck for the replies. RC, I hadn't thought of that aspect. A good reminder that spiritual maturity needs to be cultivated as well as the physical aspects of SMV. | /r/RPChristians | 07/02/19 04:56 AM
Should I Date An Unbeliever if I Can Lead That Person to Christ?I'm on board that you should not LTR/be exclusive/date/whatever the kids call it these days with an unbeliever, but I'm thinking about how this interacts with plate theory. I think there's room for unbelieving plates, and that's the level where evangelism can take place. It seems wise to keep unbelieving plates low effort since there's no chance for escalation. By low effort, I'm meaning friendly interaction during times that you happen to see each other. For effort beyond that, I think you have… | /r/RPChristians | 06/02/19 06:43 PM
Thoughts on the For _____ only series of relationship books by Jeff and Shaunti FeldhaunI have For Men Only in my Audible library, and I listened to it a couple years ago. I started the book again after seeing this post, and it does not fare well under further scrutiny. Some parts of the book get close, but in the end the advice misses the mark. Parts of the book almost get into fitness tests, but it never gets to the root of the issue. The advice is to reassure your wife with words, with no mention of the importance of actions. The book says that women need security and to feel lo… | /r/RPChristians | 06/02/19 02:54 AM
OYS - Where Progress is Made (01/30/19)I appreciate the reply, and I'll take your advice. I'll address a couple things: Sounds good. I'm going to guess that you're talking about the Christian version of spinning plates, right? Yes. I consider fornication a sin and I take that seriously. Ask God to bring you opportunities - He will. Also remember "Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness." (James 3:1) So keep that in mind. A good reminder. Exactly why I … | /r/RPChristians | 05/02/19 06:19 AM
OYS - Where Progress is Made (01/30/19)OYS #1 Physical: A few weeks in on SL 5x5: Squat 85lbs, Bench 65lbs, Row 75lbs, OHP 65lbs, DL 125lbs. ~305 lb, 5'11", 40%+ BF, 29yo, single. Losing fat and gaining muscle is a big priority for now. For diet, I do a modified keto that allows for carbs once per week. It's worked for me before. A few years ago, I went from 300lb to 225lb, but regained the weight after losing motivation. Around the beginning of this year, I was about 320, so I am seeing some change here. Porn has been a problem for … | /r/RPChristians | 04/02/19 05:15 AM
Discussion: How do you "count others more significant than yourself." while still maintaining the I'm the prize mentality? And part of looking out for others is being the best man you can be. | 2 | OYS on Red Pill ChristianI've been lurking for a few months, but I'd participate in a weekly OYS thread. | /r/RPChristians | 05/09/18 04:42 AM
