That largely depends on what his PTSD is from in this hypothetical scenario. Is he a soldier with horrible PTSD? Did he have a support system? Was he being treated by the VA? Was he actively trying to get help but doctors weren’t doing their due-diligence? The VA is notorious for not doing enough for veterans. The American Government doesn’t do enough for veterans at all. So if we’re going by that scenario we just concocted, yes, I would also say he was failed. But this is also very different th…

First I appreciate your civil response! There definitely have been cases before where trauma has been used as a defense. You pose a great question though, when people are mentally ill, why do we allow grace or understanding to some people while others don’t receive it? I think it depends on who you hear talking. Some people have much louder opinions than others. All people that are mentally ill or struggle with mental illness deserve to have someone who advocates for them. The sad thing is, many…

Ok, thank you for answering some of my questions, I appreciate that. I will say your second sentence on your original reply to me does come off as hostile sexism. Between you and I that is. Since you’ve also said you have no history of mental illness, I will ask this, do you know anyone who has experienced something traumatic in their life? The reason I ask is again, I am asking for people to try and be empathic to the entire situation. That’s all.

Also not true at all. Women and men are both reacting to this and everyone has their own reasons to react to something. I understand you’re angry about this, and yes in the case of Lindsay Clancy, it is understandable, something absolutely unimaginable and evil happened. But it’s important to understand why so we can hopefully not have things like this happen again.

Eh, I’m confused, I’m just here talking about empathy and asking men to sit with their thoughts for a moment. I didn’t at all express my thoughts on the case. I also didn’t at all say women are wonderful. Again, I am asking for men to stop and think and answer my questions. Where is your hostile sexism coming from and why exactly?

You know, I’m genuinely curious on something from the men that are very anti-feminist here: 1) How old are you? 2) What is your political affiliation? 3) Do you suffer from mental illness OR does someone you know or love suffer from mental illness? 4) Are you married or in a serious relationship? 5) Are you a white male? 6) Are you a heterosexual male? 7) What is your highest level of education? 8) Are you currently employed? 9) Are you an American citizen? 10) Have you ever experienced a mental…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
