Society is generally speaking harsher on men with mental illness than women. Men's status in society is more reliant on mental well-being that women's. Brain chemistry and hormones basically. The average woman experiences more negative emotion than the average man. "They score higher in neuroticism" is the more technical term. Since negative emotion is pretty much the pre-requisite for depression and anxiety, girls/women are more likely to find themselves with either. There is no sexism in your post. Girls/women are more susceptible to depression and anxiety. Boys/men are more likely to display aggressive behavior. These things are both undeniably true, nothing sexist about it and certainly nothing sexist about including it in what looks like course literature on the subject of mental health.
