I suggest inviting to him to mixed gender gatherings with you. Community sports, gaming, trivia parties - really anything where men and women socialize together. Meeting more women that don't fit the redpill narrative might help challenge it. If you have a mixed gender group of friends, invite him along to an outing. I also like the suggestion of countering negative talk about women with empathetic statements.

Woman here. I was single on and off throughout my 20s and early 30s. Married in mid 30s, now in my early 40s with a child. Honestly those single years were some of the best. I went over a year without a date in my 20s, let alone a serious relationship. Not for lack of opportunities but because I loved and cherished my freedom. And thank goodness - some of the guy friends who shot their shot and I declined are married and divorced since, same w my girlfriends from my early 20s. Many of the folks …

You are not lost or ruined. The way you articulate yourself is clear evidence of that. If you can, go very low to no contact with your dad and brother for a while. Keep strong boundaries. I recommend looking into reparenting/ inner child work and emdr if you haven't explored those. And finally (this is the hardest one for all of us) get off the screens as much as possible. These things are terrible for us. Spend more time in nature. Join some clubs that meet face to face (gaming, music, sports e…

For as many men there (and I suspect many are sock puppets) there are 10x as many that out there living real lives off the screens. Screen addiction is more pervasive than the pill ideology, but I think it's the root of all the social unhealthiness. Is it possible for you to find a different way to interact w people, like through volunteering, in-person gaming clubs, coed sports, classes? I think the in-person part is key.

Come back and join us in reality. Ask yourself what people who promote this stuff have to gain. It's money, from preying on your insecurity. It's a grift.

Being controlling is abuse, and even if he weren't you have a total values mismatch. But the bigger issue is you are probably not safe, given his abusive tendencies.

I have a degree in UX (that I no longer use) and other tech interests so I totally feel that. It's impossible to fully divorce ourselves, but the social media aspect influences us all so much more than we realize. We are impressionable!

What did people do before thr internet and tvs? They learned things. They bettered themselves. They made stuff. They fixed stuff. They spent more time in groups. I think a huge part of our social problems are these screens. We're not built for this life. Our bodies and minds are supposed to be doing more things and interacting w our environment, not just taking in information constantly. Those of us who have been adults for a few decades have seen a massive shift in social behavior and mental he…

I feel like y'all are just chasing the wrong women at this point 🤷‍♀️ self fulfilling prophesy. What about a tall sporty dominant woman? This redpill crap is all about men dominating each other. Want to dominate other men? Yeah, it matters. Want to actually connect with women? Ask women. No, it doesn't matter but y'all don't listen to men but other women anyway.

Go on over to the bi sub and you'll see you aren't alone. There are all sorts of bad ideas about bi people out there, and not just straight women are holding them but monosexuals in general. And it's def not universal. One common thing is people tend to assume all bi people prefer men (bi men are secretly gay and bi women are secretly straight and faking it for men's pleasure.) It is also assumed that bi people are kinky and/or poly. I dealt with that a lot in the period where I began to date me…

Huh? Thats quite a red herring. I don't care about models, couldn't even tell you any super models from the last decade so beats me. I'm also not into consumer culture or makeup fwiw. Not my thing, you're barking up the wrong tree. That's the thing about that pill crap, it puts everyone in boxes we dont fit so naive men have easy answers (blame) for their problems. Which tends to lead to a lack of taking accountability and developing one's self. You are perseverating on looks far more than anyon…

You seem super focused on looks while trying to say others are and I find that really hilarious. She dated him after he was 350 bro. She met him 20 years prior when he weighed less and they did not date at that point.

Sure tons is an exaggeration but it's not uncommon. I've lived in three regions of the country and have a wide ranging social network, particularly women a decade younger to decades older. then again all of my friends are awesome people, generally not materialistic who love to live life and have interesting pursuits. So maybe it's all about who you know and surround yourself with. But the people in my life aren't superficial and weight is not a thing for people. Living a good life you enjoy and …

I know tons of husky men with hot girlfriends. My bestie who is tiny and cute is dating a 350lb guy, and he rocks and is adorable. Guys with healthy relationships are usually confident, socially experienced, well groomed/clean and have goals/interests/hobbies. ie they have self esteem. Big guys, little guys, fat guys, skinny guys, bald guys, hairy guys. It's so not about looks for women, that's lower down the list of priorities more often anyway. It's all subjective and anecdotal but I've observ…

As a married woman who hasn't used apps since before smart phones, that is wild! I've heard horror stories from women too (unsolicited dick picks, dudes getting angry when they can't get back fast enough, discovering lies about relationship status etc.) Def never heard anything like that from dudes (but have heard about bot and sex worker accounts pretending to be real ppl.) Frankly I don't even know why people bother w appam Highly recommend hobby groups and even speed dating over online, it la…

Less time online and more time in mixed gender activities (sports and clubs, particularly.) Nothing wrong with just boy spaces, but the healthiest dudes I know had mixed gender friend groups and seem to see women as peers more than dudes that didn't have this dynamic in childhood and teen years.

This right here is your reaction to honesty from a woman. Do you see why women might hesitate to be frank with men?

What about folks who grow and change? Many of us are glad we aren't as reckless as we were when younger. Folks have trauma and sometimes health issues from reckless decisions in our youth. I guess, if you want to be a wild guy, go party in Ibiza or Vegas or Monaco or something. Go do Burning Man. Plenty of well off folks having wild times, many older than you, and plenty in relationships having adventures together. Honestly dude, you didnt miss much youth and most folks look at their 30s as the …

I think there is more variation within genders than between them. And things play out differently in different cultures, groups. Whatever that youtube is sounds somewhat inflammatory, designed to provoke people. Seems unproductive to watch. I think real life doesn't exactly work that way, unless you are in a more traditional subculture. I would say generally (maybe 60% of the time) women put more energy into appearance because it makes life easier - men are more visual, if one is looking to date…

My subjective experience as a 40 year old woman who is not unattractive and dated beautiful humans and non is: I've found a lot of ugly guys hot. Mainly because it's pheromones+liking their personality that makes the magic. I'm not at all visual - I'd be thrilled if we were all just blind voles who had to sniff each other out. I'm also bi - looks matter more to men than women, in my dating experience. Sure, some women are more superficial. And pheromones, maybe you can't do so much about (actual…

Possibly join an activity-based group (table games, sports, hiking, class, politics, volunteering etc.) Personally I don't like being social at the gym, it's valuable "me" time and I don't want to be bothered but ymmv.

Women expire at 25 for the immature and delusional type of men that buy into these predatory philosophies. You won't expire, and aging actually weeds out the damaged ones. As far as Instagram, you can request to download all of your data (in settings) and see what topics Instagram decided you want to see, based on your "dwell time" (how long you pause on posts.) Instagram shows you anything their algorithm thinks will keep you on the screen, whether you want to see it or not. Being shocked/disgu…

I've never heard of pink pill until just this post. It's not a thing most women, let alone most feminists are into. Whatever that theory is, it's not something discussed in most feminist circles. And in my experience men care waaaaay more about looks than women - the bar is in hell for us lately, we just want non-weirdos who believe in our rights and see us as peers. Flush the pills. Head over to actual women's forums and read to see what women talk about if you want to understand the things the…

You don't sound like a loser based on this information, and certainly not because of your sexual status. It's really hard to say what combination of behavior and luck is contributing but you may need to put yourself out there more. That specific red pill advice (grooming etc) is general sound advice for attracting, or at least not repelling, other humans. And yeah, guys who make moves date more than men who don't (they also likely get rejected more often than not.) My advice? Immerse yourself so…

Everyone has insecurities but reassuring insecure people can be draining. Have you heard the terms "energy vampire" "succubus" "trauma dumping" etc? Ever heard anyone complain about a jealous partner? Lack of confidence can be an indication that one will need to do more mental/emotional labor in a relationship or friendship. Confidence is attractive to peers, students, coworkers - it's doesn't just translate to how women see men, but how people see each other. And because mental/emotional health…

Like others are saying, binary thinking isn't helpful in areas of life with nuance and variance (like human attraction.) Ability to connect and demonstrate intelligence, competence and self care tend to influence attraction more than appearance, although that's a generalization. You know what's attractive to me? Seeing someone demonstrate passion and expertise in nonromantic areas. It's counterintuitive, but focusing on interests and developing oneself generates romantic or sexual interest from …

I'd explore why you feel this (there's always something deeper than "the ick") For example, it could be that you fear of std's. Or maybe you project that someone w a high body count might be more inclined to cheat, or doesn't value themselves. Or you conflate it with kink. Or fear of inadequacy. Or something else. Whatever it is, being aware of the source our own discomfort tells us about ourselves and is really helpful for growth. You may find at the bottom of it a notion that helps you underst…
