Apparently 1 in 3 women are attacked by men according to this.Completely believable. The issue with the statistic isn't if it's true or not. But how does it compare to other things? 1 in 4 women will be sexually assaulted in her life. By it's self this statistic makes it look like men are really rapey. If you compare that stat to 1 in 5 men will be sexually assaulted in his life, then it really changes the outlook. It's not "MEN" it's everyone and society is doing a bad job of teaching EVERYONE about consent. The most common person to murder a woman is her… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 05/05/24 10:46 PM
Why is "positive masculinity" something that is pushed in progressive circles, but nothing like "positive femininity"?Is "positive masculinity" something that you've seen pushed in progressive circles? I've only seen discussion about "Toxic Masculinity" and when challened to distinguish "Masculinity is Toxic" from "Toxic Masculinity" with examples of "Positive Masculinity". I get called a bigot. If progressives are actually identifying a positive and actively gendering it male, even if a traditional male gender role, that's still and improvement from what I've seen | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 18/04/24 11:56 PM
Partner considering your male advocacy the opposite side / opinionYou misunderstood me. Women are people, there can be much more than just sex It's relatively easy to find a person that you can have 1 kind of relationship with. Just friends. Or just sex or just romance. Or just life partner It's harder but doable to find some to have 2 relationship with friends + life partner, friends + sex, romance + sex, friends + romance If you want to find someone for THREE types of relationship at the same time, good luck My current relationships with women are Friends Fr… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 16/04/24 06:04 PM
Partner considering your male advocacy the opposite side / opinionIf you really need that human bond, a life partner, get a boyfriend No seriously. There are three different relationships that for some reason get packed into one role. A life partner that will help you achieve life goals and you help them achieve theirs. A sex partner for having sex with. A romantic partner for doing dates and romance and shows of affection There is no good reason that you couldn't have a platonic relationship with a life partner. Another man is going to understand your fears a… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 16/04/24 03:58 PM
Partner considering your male advocacy the opposite side / opinionYou are not alone. I had a partner break up with me because I think all people deserve human rights, even men. She was also upset because wage discrimination isn't a current problem. The current problem for workplace equality is "Mommy Tracking" young women. I wasn't willing to ignore how excluding fathers from parenting roles affects the workplace. This made her very mad. The two sides for "Gender Equality" are "Hate men" or "Hate women" and if you aren't a bigot both sides are going to label y… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/04/24 08:13 PM
How Society is Pushing Men Toward Toxic Conservative Values and How AWDTSG is Accelerating ItThe thing that these graphs don't "get" is "option C". Women are becoming more "feminist" Feminism is becoming more anti-male. Option A is "Hate men" many men are opting out of option A Option B is "Hate women" This graph presents anything that's not Option A as Option B. What we really want is an option C, don't hate anyone. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 10/04/24 05:57 PM
why do online leftists outside this sub hate it?While advocacy are caring are not zero sum games. FUNDING IS If advocating for battered men's shelters becomes successful, that funding will come from "The Violence against Women Act" and if not directed to battered men's shelters, it would be funding more battered women's shelters. Battered women's shelters are already over crowded under staffed and under funded. Taking money away from the thousands of battered women's shelters to create some shelters for battered men would in fact be taking fu… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 05/04/24 12:15 AM
Why don't men protest more? What would this protest look like? What would a men's right's protest look like? What could men protest for men's rights about that Rachel Maddow isn't going to have 6 segments about "The Andrew Tate Loving Incels that hate women" or "Explicit femininzation of men" Any sort of protest would be done for a reason, raise awareness of men's issues. But anything other than "We should have more men wearing dresses" isn't going to be reported on by the media as "Men protesting for equal treatment", it'… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 02/04/24 05:54 PM
