Well in my case, I'm in my 30s, and I can honestly say I haven't really been in a relationship where I've felt that I can offload some of what I'm going through. Where I've tried it has been... shall we say, not met well. In contrast, I have to listen to problems about work, parents, etc. Which I don't mind doing, but a bit of reciprocity from time to time would be nice. I think far more women take pride in being a safe space for their man to open up to than those who chastise him for being emotionally vulnerable Chastisement may not be the response. More likely are dismissal, silent rejection, perfuntory gestures that veil an "okay, get over this now..." sentiment, and a whole host of others.
