"...Japanese food was really bland." That's why I like it. Everything else I eat either burns my mouth or overpowers me with flavor that it makes me feel sick. :)

1 sister (older, 41 and married) WAS a somewhat reasonable person to deal with. She's however bought into the female empowerment movement and now tends to shit on anything male related. You can still have a reasonable conversation with her at times, but sometimes feminists narratives creep in and rationality goes out the door. 1 sister (older, 37 unmarried) thinks the entire world belongs to her. Any action of hers is just a consequence of justification to obtain what she wants at any given mome…

We're materialistic, men like gadgets and women like dealies. I can't really explain my natural tendencies (which seem to reflect my people as a whole quite well), but I hyperfocus on small details on objects and find things fascinating in general. I'm guessing that this natural like of stuff makes a demand for a market to drive improving stuff, hence the natural progression of technology in Japan. My 2 pence.

There may not be masculine values per se, but there are most definitely jobs and tasks that men are more suited for from the get go. I find that these tasks (let's say soldier or mechanic) are often ridiculed and belittled by women in society, so there is little motivation to pursue those tasks/jobs if you care about who you are in society. I do believe that men doing up themselves in makeup, etc isn't a problem, however, I think they're starting to swing too far the other way to the point where…

One thing I very much despise about East Asian cultures (I am actually half Korean, my mother ethnic Korean), is everyone follows everyone else, for no particular reason. There are very few independent thinkers and pioneers. That is one thing I very much admire about many white people. You can see this in the worldwide achievements, most people who have contributed to the progress of society were white. East Asians, almost nothing, although we do have a tendency to get obsessed with things and t…

I think since the general atheist movement (I say that broadly because not everyone believed in a god to begin with), vast amount of people are throwing away everything related to their traditional culture in favor of instant gratification. Anything I want whenever I want, that's the way people live these days. Only now are we beginning to really feel the effects.

My dad passed away 3 years ago. As for my mom, my sisters have sided with her so I am the lone one out. They are feminized I guess you could say, so anything the man wants doesn't much matter.

I actually think sexual liberation is one of the causes of the decline. When thinking about it, raising kids is a 20 year commitment, while sleeping with anyone you want is whenever you want. I personally find sexual liberation and "free for all" a bit embarrassing and disgusting. There is no focus on the future, only personal pleasures and instant gratification, and I think it's destroying the world we know it.

Actually, we are far less crowded than a lot of other countries out there and have a lot of mountains, farmlands, open roads and ricefields. If you think we're overpopulated, try Singapore.

This is completely my opinion, but the way I see it is that men have al sex drive higher compared to women (universally), but that in terms of actually obtaining sex, women have the upper hand in that even a 5/10 can get laid any day of the week if she looked, where as men have to work a lot harder. Now take into account a man who likes sex, but doesn't particularly need it (like how I like sushi, but don't seek it actively so if it falls into my lap, then okay), then if you make it less interes…

Truth be told, I don't really see Japanese people trying to follow some sort of honor code in living honour code as men. The general feeling I get from people I know who aren't in relationships is apathy and loss of hope to be honest, and the "dignity" we display in handling ourselves is just how we are. The only thing I do take pride is as a person are things I can create with my own hands. I think this is why Japan still has a relatively thriving manufacturing sector, because there is that nug…

Japanese are horrible for saying that things are the way they are, and will never change. We're creatures of habit unfortunately (at least I am, I don't even like changing brands of toothpaste), so to change our way of operating in life is kind of unthinkable at times, sadly enough. I agree with the above analysis as well, and that's why I tried to make a distinction between myself as a MGTOW and the Japanese people as a whole, many don't share the same experience I do.

Not far off. Ever wonder why you see such attention to detail in Japanese mechanical and electrical components but relative sloppiness anywhere else? :) I literally have a book on my desktop about ball bearings right now, and I didn't even think about it until you mentioned the "pillar" thing. I may do a thread later on. Is there any interest in such a thing though? I always perceived Japanese were seen as a weird nation on an island who make good cars and have sex with robots.

I wish I could say that's true, but I'm not sure it is. Being Japanese (from Japan), I'm perfectly fine being alone. I haven't been to a club since I was 18 (I'm 30), and find objects more interesting than women. Many Japanese men are like this, we don't have high sex drives compared to western men. Sure we have some really weird messed up porn/anime stuff, but in terms of seeking hookups, going to clubs/bars etc, we're fine doing our own thing and sitting in our rooms all day until we die. Sad,…

Just from who I've met, all the women who were responsible and willing to accept blame were still happily married to a husband who was equally willing and able to accept criticism. The ones that separate, do so for a reason whether it be temper tantrum related or actual incompatibility/abuse.

I haven't lived there for a while now, but where I used to live was nothing but ricefields and mountains as far as the eye could see. There was and is a lot of open space to do things, although many foreigners don't realize it. They think it's all shoulder to shoulder people. As far as the infrastructure being strained, I never felt that way even in Tokyo, but I could be wrong.

Honda Odysseys later version vs. 4 cylinder earlier ones tend to have a lot of transmission problems, even with the recall performed on them. I've seen many fail and have had to fix more than makes me comfortable in recommending them to anyone. Toyotas newer than 03' I am unfamiliar with, but the 3.0 older Siennas use the same 1MZ-FE motor as the Camry of the same generation, and are known for lasting hundreds of thousands of km with proper maintenance. Repairs are generally easy on Toyotas and …

I'm curious, as I don't read much of those sites, but is this because they're going after the feminist agenda pushing and people are fighting back? Or is this because they're very shallow to begin with and people get bored quickly?

As an asian (asian asian, not american asian), I want to let you know there's life outside the U.S. I know it feels all encompassing and such, but trust me, there is life outside and a good life can be had. There are many smart and developing countries that can appreciate a good skill set and will give you a comfortable life in return. Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea are options too, despite societies being very feminist, but like the Muslims in America, they don't see those men as "bad…

Congrats, and stay off. It's amazing to watch seemingly good and normal people get their brains sucked out into their cellphones and going retarded. I live by a 55+ community, and the simple joy they get when being able to talk to a "young'un" (I'm 30 this week), is way more entertaining and fulfilling than any datey swipey smiley feely shit. Real people are great, as is the real world, I will never use social media.

That makes a lot of sense now that you phrase it in terms like such. Emotionally attach yourself to an idea, and only positive confirmations will register to your mind while everything else is non-existent. My mother is this way, she's a complete feminist and Christian funny enough, but tell her God doesn't exist or that men are oppressed and she'll go ape shit on you...like she's done to me several times.

I gave up on Western society honestly. Men are programmed to white knight women, and women want more. Both are emotional instincts, and you can not reason your way out of an emotional argument. Therefore, I see no hope for modern society and will not worry myself with fixing it. Sad truth, but sometimes you need to let the Titanic sail into the iceberg.

It's really sad and hard to admit, but we (many of us) men are the enablers. If we didn't enable the woman's "needs", feminism wouldn't exist because it would have nothing to feed off of. Sorry but, it's men's faults too.

I have friends in Tokyo (same cost level as Hong Kong), and you can easily get by with a $40k salary. Don't expect to own a home, but living and saving money is very easy, even at those rates. It's the entitled ego-bitches that demand the special treatment of women and getting all of the glory of the six figure man as if it's her entitlement.

I don't think many will say it's "never a thing", and I also think facts are very important, which is why I posted the facts. I personally would have assumed less to be honest (around 1% or less), so it's a small awakening to me.

I have several South African friends who tell me the charities are, 9 out of 10 times, ridiculously inefficient to the point of being useless. Charity directors driving new Mercedes, charity workers getting new massive houses, and the actual cause, almost nothing. Even those they do help tend to squander the free money away very quickly, i.e. one girl was bought from her "pimp" and returned to her mother (who had sold her), who was promptly sold again for more money. I will never give to any cha…

Hence my stating of lacking a strong understanding of Japanese law. Thanks for the addition, it's something I didn't know. Also, my statement on fear of the law vs. what the law says, stems from my personal experiences. i.e. If a woman falls over in the middle of the sidewalk in Japan, she might get helped up, she might not. My first thought to those who fall is to tell them to stop wearing high heels, and I am not alone in that sentiment. Actually, I think all my friends feel that way towards w…

Honestly, I'm very weak on my complete understanding of the laws in Japan vs. the U.S. where I've seen many of my friends affected by divorce court rulings. My opinion comes from the general "feel" of the business owners I've interacted with and isn't based on laws that I know. For one small example, my local small grocery store owner talk about complain his cashier girl was only good for cashier jobs and couldn't lift anything. He said he'd fire her if she wasn't attractive because he finds mor…

Of the South Koreans I know, there is a huge amount of distain for the younger generation and the rampant materialism (just look at the Kpop culture and such). Lots of makeup, lots of plastic surgery, very little emphasis on actual substance. There are a lot of working class people however who get the job done (if you saw Korea in the 50's compared to what it is now, you'll know how amazing the transformation has been since the Korean War), however, they're not the one's featured in the media. It's hard to say because the U.S. is much more ethnically diverse than Japan, so that complicates things to a whole new level. As a whole however, I'd say Japan reached it's "I don't give a shit" stage in the late 80's after the working class lady boom, right around the time I was born. Problem for the women however, was that Japanese men (as a broad generalization) are perfectly fine with telling women we don't need them and that their job performance is shit compared to us who need to get thin…

We Japanese men (I'm half Korean however but it's a similar story is South Korea), have pretty much said we don't give a shit, we see things for what they are. So many of us have had a disproportionately large number of poor experiences with women that we're long beyond caring, so anything the media says pretty much means nothing to us. At least that was my view when I left 10 years ago.

As an exmo, lots of young people I know not getting married was because they saw their predecessors marry right away with no education or job, have a bunch of kids and then sink straight into needing welfare. Frankly, this scared the shit out of me when I was 18. My reasons for being a MGTOW (I'm not) in this day and age though would be very different compared to when I was a Mormon though.
