It really is a question of where people come down on the equality of opportunity vs equality of outcome. I'm glad so many people favor opportunity over outcome, as that's the philosophy I subscribe to.

They probably lost at least as many female hires as males because of all the publicity. What is worse might be the effect this has on women choosing to major in tech :(
