Same thing in my situation. She had affair, AP dumped her, my life is so much better and she just declines daily.

Correct

I’m divorcing one now. The marriage and her will not get better with time. I’m separated and enjoying life now that she is gone. You will be there too

I too made the mistake thinking the system was fair. It’s not and I won’t be getting married again.

Yes, I saw that same person as well. They use whatever means they can to manipulate you and others in order to protect their narrative. I bet she’s not actively telling anyone that she had an affair

Military here as well going through similar divorce. Spouse had an affair with a Naval JAG officer who worked for EUCOM. You are not divorcing the same woman you married. She is gone and has already shifted the narrative that you are to blame. This will be rough but focus on yourself and take it from experience that life is going to get better.

I hope your dad finds peace. I sure have. Tell him it does get better.

They want the security you can provide. Get in shape and there will be more of those opportunities around.

That’s nice to hear. Get used to it. I get approached regularly. It gets better as time goes by. I’m 59 and in decent shape.

I’m an RN and nursing school was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. She better study hard or she will flunk out and just become a nurses aid

I’m an RN and I have seen countless women loose weight by gastric bypass and now GLP1’s to start having affairs and dump their husbands. It’s sad to watch the dependapotumouses in the hospital with a “male friend” visiting her and you know the sponsor is deployed. If you have never heard of a dependapotumous then google it. It’s widely common in the military community.

Yeah, I was too kind and trusting. I’ve learned that there are individuals out there similar to parasites.

I was deployed to Germany and wife flew Space A to visit. She met a naval jag officer on the plane and had an affair of a lifetime till he dumped her. Her smear campaign cost me a retirement but I thankfully have the VA. Mine was planning it all along too. Oh, I paid her student loans as well.

You did the right thing. I had a friend who did not seize the opportunity when his wife assaulted him. He wanted to take the high road. He now knows he should have.

Peace, and no longer worrying about her financial issues. I wake up and do what I want to do every day.

Were you also married to my wife?

Something similar is happening to me now. I’m so much better off without her and daughters never speak to her. She’s useless

I'm an RN and have seen a bunch of gastric bypass patients leave their husbands after they loose weight. I lost count it's so many. Had some even hit on me.

I feel you on the inheritance part. I’m very fortunate that my wife had her affair and we separated before my mother unexpectedly passed. My inheritance went into a trust account. If she had not done anything we would have received it and she would have spent it like crazy

I second this. Leave. She did this and will do it again. Forget the AP. I’m sure he is one of many. My STBXW had an affair with a guy I met. I do hope to contact him one day but it will be an email or text stating that she needs financial support and I am just reaching out to see if he would give any support to her because I’m done. I’m not against marriage in the future if there was a way to keep the State out of it.

10 years will get her 25% of your retirement, or half of the half. 20 years together will get her 50%

I’m an RN and I see this a lot with gastric bypass patients. It’s like they want to screw everything they couldn’t when they were overweight.

She will lie about everything and give you glimpses of hope when it benefits her-I will go to therapy, I’m gonna stop drinking, I will get the financial records for you, etc. You need to protect yourself and your finances. Find ways to keep your money safe. Cut her off.

This may sound cruel but here’s my take. You will be getting a divorce. She checked out months or even years ago and she is going to use you and the kids to finance her new life. Don’t try to save her. Save yourself and the kids. Fight for custody of the children which will be hard since they are so young. Use her alcoholism against her and protect the children. Alcoholism and stimulants(adderal) don’t do well together and this will benefit your situation. You are going into the worst part of yo…

As others have posted, it's not worth it. I'm going through a divorce now where my wife had an affair that movies could be made from. I have realized that the court is so biased in favor of the woman that no man should ever get married.

Great advice and trust me, it only gets worse. These Cluster B personality disorders are awful. Start doing your research on these and you will understand that nothing you do will ever be good enough. I’ve been there and now done.

I scheduled it, decided not to go through with it because I figured most of the women I would meet would be beyond childbearing age. I’m now 58 and meeting younger women and wish now that I had gotten the vasectomy. Do it, you have a lot of years left in the dating world.

I’m right there with you. Cluster B disorders are awful. I’m doing great, frugal and making more money than ever. I got her out of the house and my life but I’m willing to draw this out and watch her self destruct.

As an RN of 24 years I can tell you that based on his story this will only get worse and he has probably already noticed that it has progressively worsened since the onset. OP needs to get her some help and your suggestion on going to the emergency room is correct.

Marriage is simply a contract with the state to divide your finances.

I haven’t tried the apps yet but this is inspiring. I’m 58 in good shape physically and financially sound, I should give it a try. Thank you

I'm in a relationship currently. My previous experience has enhanced my ability to be mindful of ceding. I know now that I need my happiness more than I need to provide her happiness. The current girlfriend does try to promote her power at times though.

This happened to me and slowly after continuous ceding I realized that she would never achieve happiness. She just wanted more. I do look for ways to have a better relationship the next time.

I paid $2500 delivered. I think I could have shopped around and saved a little but I was ready to move on with my life.

I bought a 20 foot shipping container and I am continually putting her stuff in it. I placed a combination lock on it using our anniversary date as the code. She has not once attempted to retrieve her stuff, but it’s out of my way. I will convert the container into a cabin when done and move it into the country for a vacation spot.

You are right. It gets better by the day. I have started sailing, a new business/hobby and making more money than ever. Had a dinner date the other day with a woman 12 yrs younger and had the best conversation in years.

Mine met another SM, international law attorney at EU COM, on a Patriot Express flight to see me while deployed in Germany. He dumped her

Agree, mine is narcissistic with bipolar but I initially observed the bipolar due to her perfection in gaslighting. She unmasked and I see it as a genetic mental health cesspool now.

Not quite finished with the divorce yet but I too am noticing a big difference in my disposable income. She was a drain on everything.

This is also my marriage. 19 years but I’m almost free and have never felt better. Look to the future and enjoy life my friend.

The court is so biased in favor of women. I elected to have her move out, I had to give her $2000 in moving expenses and then $650 a month. The child lives with me and we were granted 50/50 custody so there is no child support. The $2000 and $650 a month come out of the final settlement whenever that is. I'm just glad she is out of the house. She didn't pay any bills while we were together anyway.
/r/Divorce_Men10/06/24 01:27 PM

My attorney wanted me to move out as well. I said No! If I moved out, the court would make me pay the household expenses and thus create a situation where she would prolong the case in order to not have expenses.

Take this as a blessing. She is leaving. My STBX is 48, cheated and the guy dumped her after 3 months. I’m now in the process of divorce and having to make her leave. Teenage daughter will live with me. Don’t stress on “why” she is leaving but be glad she is and move on with life.

He could face UCMJ action but I chose not to say or do anything as I was hoping he would take my problem away. I guess she showed her true self too early and he wised up.

I was recently deployed to Germany where my wife visited me. She met a Naval JAG officer from EUCOM on the Patriot Express flight over. She had a several months affair and even lived with him until he ditched her. Like others have said here…..be done with her and find someone you can trust and share life with.

I’m also curious as to the dating apps. I haven’t joined one yet but have perused the profiles a few times. Any advice is appreciated.

Happens to me all the time. The good news is that you know the difference between what she used to be and what she really is.

If you are currently on military orders then I assume you are Guard or Reserve. I’m currently on orders too and wife had an affair starting in March. Told me she wants a divorce in the most brutal and horrific way. I was decimated and on the advice of others I went to an MFLC Marriage and Family Life Counselor on post. They were awesome and really helped me get through the worst part of it. You don’t need a referral either. MilitaryOneSource can also help.

I loved the image of what she portrayed. Since her affair, discarding me, devaluing me and wanting a divorce I now know the person behind the mask, but I can honestly say I did love her.

Same here, I will flirt back but not interested in anything until this thing is done and even then I’m not quite sure if I want to go through this again.

Have you thought about counseling and forgiveness? It's a question that only you can answer in your heart. Good luck whichever route you take.

It’s been 19 years for me and I’m 56. She was horribly cruel to me also, but I still think about her. I know there is someone else out there that I will meet that WANTS to be with me.

I worry that may happen to me as well. I haven’t been with anyone else since I met my stbx 19 years ago. I get hit on all the time at work but I just can’t act on it. It feels awkward talking to a woman that has “feelings” for me. I know this will change once the divorce is final.
