I met my girlfriend a few months after the divorce was finalized (emotionally and sexually, the marriage had been over for 4-5 years by that point). This relationship is the polar opposite of my marriage. We've been together a year, not a single argument. We have similar hobbies so there's no fights about that (we're both involved in Freemasonry related organizations; Freemasonry for me and Eastern Star/Rainbow Girls for her, both of which require evenings away without your significant other. We…

My ex-wife refuses to accept any responsibility for her actions or circumstances, everything is/was my fault and caused by me. She's expressed no regret and I most definitely have no regrets for pulling the plug on our "marriage".

I disagree, I don't think men need a wife but instead need something to provide for and protect. This can be fulfilled by children, other family, or even friends (depending on the relationship). Most times it's a wife and children, in my case it's just children. After my divorce, I realized I don't need a wife to fulfill those things because I can put the same effort into my daughters well-being. Plus, in modern society many men lack any sort of social out let and a wife provides that vital part…

Join a club or fraternity. Moose, Elks, Eagles, Rotary, or Lions for service organizations. Freemasons or Oddfellows for fraternal organizations. I'm a Freemason and my brothers helped make the transition from married to divorced 100 times easier.

In his original post, before the edit, he went around saying he didn't really care about having any custody or the house. Now he edited his post after a few people pointed out how shitty that is.

Want an honest opinion? You're pathetic. Be a man, fight for custody of your daughter to be a guaranteed part of her life. Nothing disgusts me more than Dads who voluntarily choose to be weekend warriors. Your inheritance is worthless compared to her having invested, loving, parents. I hope your wife files first and takes you to the cleaners.

Congrats man! Always nice when a guy makes it out intact.

Three of the biggest issues were: 1) No matter what, she's just not a clean or organized person. Now, I'm not a neat freak but I put my things away after I use them. I'll sweep and do some light cleaning throughout the week. Nothing too crazy. She leaves clothes, make up, bags, etc. All over the place. Cluttering literally everything. When I ask her to put them away, I'm "abusing" her because she doesn't have anywhere to keep them (which is wrong). 2) This is mostly on me, but I found the hobbie…

Honestly, get in touch with a lawyer. I told her straight up I can't afford to refinance and can't afford to give her half the equity. If we wanted our daughter to have a stable home to grow up in, I'd just have to keep it and she agreed (we got her off the mortgage through a VA loan assumption). Living situation wise, she's still living here until June/July (end of the school year) which was the deadline I gave her until the girl she was having an affair with and her can figure some living situ…

I just googled "amicable divorce lawyer". I was lucky enough to stumble across a lawyer who does it relatively cheaply if everything is in agreement. I think any law firm can do the paperwork for you (but the firm I asked wanted 3-4 times more than the guy we went with). He only does legal work related to amicable divorces. I mean, I went into it knowing what I wanted and what I viewed as best for our daughter. I didn't really present it as an option to deviate from that and, luckily, she went a…

The simplest answer is most likely the correct one. Either to claim you did something to her, or to do something to you.

I'm sorry man. We did split the retirement down the middle (but we're younger and it wasn't a huge loss). Really that and having to pay child support are my only big losses (and having to live with her until the summer). We don't have anything that would've taken "decades" to build up (married in early 20s and only for 8 years). She was a stay at home mom who worked with her mom on and off and would spend a week or two every few months at anime conventions. Best of luck and I hope you're able to…

In our state alimony is not mandatory and in the paperwork we filled out for the lawyer she waived any alimony. Since it was amicable, we were able to only spend about $1000 for a lawyer to prepare/file the paperwork for us in a county on the other side of the state which doesn't require court for amicable divorcing couples (we didn't want to drag our daughter to court). Basically, since we agreed on everything the judge just approved everything.

Lmao, dead bedroom since '20 so no chance in hell of that even if I wanted to.

It's tough. I work from home and it's a smaller house. For the past few years (of her own choice) she sleeps in our daughters room on a bunk bed and I sleep in the main bedroom. But the plan is for her to only stay until the end of this school year. By then, she'll be off the deed and mortgage and so I can "encourage" her to get her own place. But, I'll just suck it up until then. I dealt with it for 8 years. At least now there's nothing she can threaten me with.

Because I make considerably more than her. And I only managed to keep the house because she let me. We live in a high cost of living area and she can't afford the house (let alone a refinance) and we agreed it was better to let me keep it so our daughter has a stable house to live in half the time (as opposed to two apartments).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
